- Having Had My Bride Stolen, I Just Want to Live Peacefully
- Chapter 22 - Arata-san… No?
Nene-chan took a quick breath and exhaled as if she had prepared herself.
Her eyes stopped wavering and she just stared straight at her.
“First of all, my sister caused a great deal of trouble for brother-in-law. I think it’s irreversible. I’m so sorry.”
Nene-chan turned her body to me and bowed her head.
“You don’t have to apologize. As I said before, it’s not Nene-chan who is to blame.”
“Still, I’m sorry.”
Then she looked up and turned to Miyoshi-senpai.
“I admit that there is no connection between brother-in-law and the Fujisaki family.”
But she continued.
“I think relationships are not just family registers and things like that, but the time we have been dealing with each other. Miyoshi-san has a current relationship with his brother-in-law through his work, doesn’t he?”
“Yes, that’s right.”
Miyoshi-senpai agrees with Nene-chan’s question.
Even if there’s a family register or blood relationship, if they don’t have time there, they’re far away, no matter who they are.
I understand that painfully through that person who is my father.
“Then, will you become someone else when your workplace changes? No, I can’t. In fact, Miyoshi-san and brother-in-law have a good relationship. To the point where he would still let me stay at his home.”
Nene-chan smiled and turned her face to me.
Even though she smiles, I feel chilly for some reason.
“I am very far away from being the sister of his ex-fiance, but during my sister’s engagement, we had a family dinner and went out. At that point, I’m no longer a stranger.”
Once you’ve been involved, I don’t think you’ll ever really go back to being someone else.
You can choose not to leave or get involved, but even though it’s thin, the connection is there.
“That day, I saw brother-in-law bowing his head and apologizing at the ceremony hall even though it wasn’t his fault, and I felt that he was deeply hurt. So I thought it would be better not to get involved now that he has lost his relationship with the Fujisaki family, but…”
She seems to be at a loss for words.
She seemed to be worried about what to do with the words that came into his mouth.
“But I personally wanted to support and comfort brother-in-law. That’s why I’m here.”
Nene-chan said it with Miyoshi-senpai facing her.
Miyoshi-senpai slowly opens her mouth when she hears those words.
“I see. Thank you for telling me.”
Miyoshi-senpai’s expression loosens.
“I have no intention of denying your relationship. I really just wanted to ask what Fujisaki meant.”
Then, she takes a breath and continues.
“But it wasn’t good for me, a third party, to ask you without hesitation, and I regret that the way I put it was so emotional that it wasn’t very impolite. Fujisaki-san, I’m really sorry.”
Miyoshi-senpai bowed deeply to Nene-chan.
“U-um, raise your head, please. I fully understand what his ex-fiancé’s family is doing and how Miyoshi-san, his senpai, is worried about it.”
“Thank you, I’d appreciate it if you could say so. But I’m really sorry.”
The tense air disappears.
The place seems to have settled down somehow.
I mean, Nene-chan just says it personally.
Didn’t her mother ask her to come…?
“Arata-san.”
“Hm?”
I’m so surprised that I’m suddenly called by my name that I let go of my thoughts.
“I’m not going to call you brother-in-law, so I’ll change it. From now on, I’ll call you Arata-san.”
“No, that’s.”
“Arata-san… No?”
She asked me as she tilted her head.
I couldn’t have refused if I had told you like that.
“That’s all right.”
“Thank you.”
I’m not used to hearing Arata-san because they’ve always been brother-in-law.
For that matter, I think Nene-chan is extremely used to saying things.
I suppose when they change their name, they may be more hesitant to call it this way.
“Wait, wait a minute! Can I call you Arata-kun?”
Miyoshi-senpai asks me as she scrapes up her hair.
“Huh, why? There’s no reason.”
“Yes, Miyoshi-san. Don’t take advantage of it.”
“W-well…”
Miyoshi-senpai’s hair falls flat on her face.
“T-then can you call me Yui-san instead of Miyoshi-senpai? Y-you know, we’re not in a different company anymore, and we’re not really senpai and kouhai, right?”
I see, then is there a reason?
I was about to say, “That’s all right.”
“N-no, you can’t!”
I thought there was a loud voice, but there was Nene-chan with puffy cheeks.
“Why does Fujisaki-san refuse?”
“Because you can’t do anything that doesn’t work.”
“You’re called by your name. What’s more, with chan. If I’m being honest, I actually want him to call me Yui-chan, but I’m holding back and asking him to use Yui-san, you know?!”
“Only Nene gets to be called by her first name. Is that so, Arata-san?”
“That’s cheating. You want him to call you by your name, too, please, Arata-san?”
Their faces kept coming up to me.
Nene-chan’s bright red eyes and Miyoshi-senpai’s clear and powerful eyes come to my eyes.
Beautiful girls and beautiful women are so powerful that they are overwhelmed.
“Ah, you called him by his name in the confusion!”
“So what if I did!”
Even so, there is no room for me to enter this situation.
I had no choice but to be flustered, wondering what to do.
Ding dong.
Suddenly the sound of the intercom rang through the house.
“Oops, it looks like someone is here, so I’ll go check.”
I left the two of them behind and hurried away.
I don’t remember ordering anything, but it was a relief.
When I looked at the display of the intercom, I saw a familiar face.
“Good morning, senpai, I’m sorry for the sudden visit early in the morning.”
There was a woman who had short hair and dressed in a pretty fashion that was different from her usual suit.
It was Kitagawa Ibuki, a former subordinate.
