- Having Had My Bride Stolen, I Just Want to Live Peacefully
- Chapter 14 - Please Tell Me a Lot, Brother-In-Law
One morning.
While I was eating my bento, Nene-chan was studying.
“Brother-in-law, can I have a moment?”
“What’s the matter, Nene-chan?”
It’s unusual for her to rely on me.
Let’s see. If it’s at the level of college entrance examinations, I probably haven’t forgotten it yet.
“I’m stuck evaluating this inequality…”
Then an unexpected question came.
“I see. You can think of this after approximating it with a continuous function. If you do that, you can evaluate the surrounding values with one point.”
“I see. I’m sure it’ll work.”
She seemed satisfied with my answer, and her eyes were relaxed.
However, Nene-chan’s questions continue.
“In the first place, I was wondering if it would be okay to use a continuous function to approximate it, but is that guaranteed to the general public?”
“Ah, that’s…”
I added further explanation from there.
“I should have thought so. Thank you.”
“As long as I could be of service to you.”
I’m glad that I was able to help Nene-chan, who always takes care of me.
I’ve always been confident in my studies, so I’m glad I have to use it in times like this.
Isn’t the problem that Nene-chan is studying more difficult than that?
It’s like doing it at the university level.
“Brother-in-law is a good teacher.”
“Really? I have a teacher’s license.”
“I-I see.”
Nene-chan widened her eyes in surprise.
“Brother-in-law graduated from Amagamine High School, right? Did you come to our school to practice teaching?”
“Yes. It was five years ago.”
I’m surprised that it’s been so long since I went there myself.
It’s nostalgic. Most of my memories were of being busy preparing for the research class.
Come to think of it, there was only one student who came eagerly to ask for instruction.
I’m sure…
“Then, brother-in-law was a teacher.”
Nene-chan’s voice brought me back to my thoughts.
“Not so much as a teacher. It was only for two weeks.”
“But you’re still a teacher.”
Nene-chan says this, but I don’t intend to pretend to be a teacher because I feel sorry for the people in their main job.
However, I can understand that it seems like a great thing to the students.
In fact, the trainees I saw when I was in high school looked mature.
“Hey, Ichinose-sensei.”
I heard a whisper in my ear.
Her breath stroked my ears and sent a shiver down my spine.
“Please teach Nene a lot.”
Sometimes Nene-chan misses the subject.
That’s why I misunderstood a little.
I shake that thought aside, and I say.
“Hey, don’t make fun of adults.”
“Hehe, I got scolded. You really look like a teacher.”
Nene-chan smiles mischievously.
“You know what…”
“Then sensei, can you help me with this next?”
“This is…”
I was happy to be relied on, so I let her little pranks slide.
◇◆◇
The next morning.
“Hey, brother-in-law. How far have you seen that anime?”
“You mean ‘My Sister-in-Law’. I’ve already seen it all.”
“Wow, that was fast. Even though there are up to two seasons.”
“It was so much fun that I ended up watching it. And I’ve got plenty of time.”
Cooking was becoming my hobby, but I couldn’t use up my long day by myself.
It’s a luxury problem, though.
So when I asked Nene-chan if she had any hobbies to recommend, she recommended anime.
“Then next time, you should watch, ‘You’re My Brother-In-Law, but There’s No Problem as Long as You Have Love.”
“R-really? I’ll take a look.”
Nene-chan, who speaks with unusual excitement, nods despite the atmospheric pressure.
I heard that she has a friend who knows a lot about anime, and while they taught her a lot, Nene-chan fell in love with it.
It may be prejudice, but I’m surprised that even today’s kids are watching anime these days.
Is the expression “present-day” too old?
“I think ‘Dekakawa’ is also good these days.”
“Eh! You are watching ‘Dekakawa’?”
“Yes. With few ups and downs in the story, it’s soothing to watch.”
“Hehe, I can’t believe it’s soothing. That’s cute.”
“That’s right. The lives of those characters are cute.”
It’s fun to talk about anime in the morning like this.
I haven’t been exposed to such a culture because I don’t have time.
In the first place, I thought anime was far from me, but it was surprisingly interesting in my late 20s.
I can have as many hobbies as I want, and it doesn’t seem too late to start at any age.
It seemed that the world was expanding, which could not be seen just by going back and forth between home and work.
When the conversation was over, I finished my bento and it was time for Nene-chan to go to school.
“Brother-in-law, can I have a cup of coffee?”
“Go ahead.”
Since she’s taken it once, Nene-chan has been begging for a sip of the coffee I’ve been drinking.
I asked several times if I could make a new one, but she didn’t seem to need much.
So it was customary for me to leave a mouthful for Nene-chan.
“Ugh, it’s bitter…”
It was the custom that after drinking it, it became a routine.
When I asked her if I could put sugar or milk in it, she said, “I like to drink it as it is.”
I understand that.
It has no impurities. It tastes good.
It makes me happy that Nene-chan knows.
“Come to think of it, brother-in-law, today is Friday.”
“Ah, it’s already the day of the week.”
If you don’t work, you lose your sense of the week.
“You haven’t forgotten about tomorrow, have you?”
“Of course.”
Tomorrow Saturday, I’m going out shopping with Nene-chan.
She brought me a bento every day and sometimes taught me how to cook, so this was my way of paying her back.
“Hmm, hmm. I’m looking forward to it.”
Nene-chan hummed and shook from side to side, and was in such a good mood.
Well, at the request of her mother, she’s being asked to run an errand every day by such an old man, and I can’t do it without something in return.
I’m sure she’s thinking about what she’ll buy tomorrow.
But I can’t figure out what a rich young lady will buy.
I thought of tomorrow and pulled myself together.
