Chapter 45: Sparks Fly: 4-Unit Meeting ② The Terrifying Intelligence Unit
Intelligence Unit.
The moment those words left her mouth, tension ran across the faces of the women in attendance. Of course, there were a few who remained unfazed.
“As you all know, the Intelligence Unit is an exception among the units in this base. They constantly maintain a nationwide network, cooperating with external organizations while gathering information both inside and outside the country. Primarily with the intelligence units of other bases…”
One of the main duties of the Intelligence Unit was the internal investigation of soldiers belonging to each base. In other words, their mission was to identify spies and organizations sent by hostile nations and other foreign powers that had infiltrated the military.
Once a soldier fell under suspicion by the Intelligence Unit, clearing their name was extremely difficult. What awaited beyond that was a thorough investigation that extended to their family, friends, classmates, and even neighbors.
Being targeted by the Intelligence Unit was virtually synonymous with the destruction of one’s life as a soldier. Therefore, the Intelligence Unit was an object of fear and avoidance for most soldiers.
“Within that information network… they apparently detected some kind of… noise in the area around the training site — that is, from Mount Kurokami to the Thirteen Lake coast. Noise at a level they cannot overlook. This is the Intelligence Unit Commander’s expression… Someone has to confirm it. For example… a unit like ours, stationed relatively close by and not currently assigned any urgent missions. That is the reason behind the selection of this training location…”
Intelligence Unit Commander Himuro Madoka.
Even within the notoriously ruthless Intelligence Unit, she was the most feared figure.
Iron Mask.
Woman of Absolute Zero.
Vampire Princess.
It was said that the secret talk rooms that once existed on the base’s social network app “KAZURA” were filled with countless mocking and worshiping nicknames and anecdotes about her. Not only the NCOs attending this meeting, but even the regular soldiers watching the broadcast from other rooms stiffened as they recalled the many bloody episodes associated with her.
“What do you mean by ‘noise’…? Chiharu-chan…”
Unit Commander Kutō Takako asked with a smile on her lips. However, there was no laughter in her narrowed fox-like eyes.
“We’re all just a bunch of idiots here, so we won’t understand unless you say it more clearly…?”
Among the unit commanders in this base, the only one holding the rank of Lieutenant Colonel was Infantry Unit Commander Hihino Chiharu. All the other unit commanders were Majors. Naturally, Kutō Takako was also a Major.
In a military where rank was absolute, many of the women present likely saw her way of speaking as quite provocative. However, the Infantry Unit Commander herself calmly brushed it off.
“I don’t know either…”
She said it with a completely unconcerned expression. Under some circumstances, those words could have called her qualifications as a commander into question.
Kutō Takako’s narrowed eyelids opened wide. Surprisingly, her eyes were soft and moist.
“I see…”
She chuckled softly as she spoke.
“Well then… can’t be helped. After all… we just follow orders, right…?”
She smiled again at Lieutenant Hōgyoku, who had been watching the exchange with a nervous expression. The lieutenant hurriedly nodded several times in response, her face brightening.
The tense atmosphere in the room loosened slightly. The person who was most relieved by this was none other than Sergeant Narumi, who was acting as the presenter.
“Um… does anyone have any other questions regarding the training schedule…? Anyone at all…”
“Excuse me~?”
The one who interrupted Narumi was a relaxed, almost student-like voice.
“Ah… yes, please go ahead… Unit Commander Hohosaki…”
“Thanks~!”
A tanned woman wearing a deep green polo shirt, knee-length pleated skirt, and white apron winked at Sergeant Narumi. Narumi could only respond with an awkward smile.
“Everyone~ Listen~!”
She stood up and gestured dramatically, like a nursery teacher addressing a group of toddlers, while looking around at everyone present. Her gaze eventually stopped on the only man in the room — Sergeant Major Nagato Kai, who was wearing a black high-collared uniform.
“Today the members are a little different from usual, right~? So I think it would be good for the people meeting each other for the first time to do self-introductions~… What do you think~?”
She held her right palm behind her ear and placed her left hand on her hip, waiting for reactions from the room. It was an embarrassing pose to watch. Indeed, several of the NCOs blushed faintly and averted their eyes.
What the hell is wrong with this place…?
In the somewhat chilly silence, Nagato once again found himself doubting the sanity of this entire base.
This is so weird… No… I shouldn’t judge someone based on just one moment of behavior… But still, this person being a unit commander…
Nagato found it hard to believe. Most likely, almost every officer and soldier in the base except those from the Logistics Unit would have agreed with him.
However, regardless of her personal feelings, Sergeant Narumi had no choice but to continue facilitating the meeting.
“Um… what does everyone think of Unit Commander Hohosaki’s suggestion…? How should we proceed, Lieutenant…?”
Her final question was directed at Lieutenant Kawana. For the lieutenant, who had been enduring the seemingly pointless exchange with her arms crossed, even this question from Narumi must have felt irritating.
Don’t fuck with me…! This isn’t a goddamn kindergarten playground…! Just yell at her already…
Even she hadn’t lost her cool enough to actually say that out loud.
After all, Unit Commander Hohosaki was a Major. In terms of rank, she was significantly superior to Kawana.
So Lieutenant Kawana glanced sideways at the Unit Commander sitting to her left, as if passing a bucket in a relay.
Chapter 46: Sparks Fly: 4-Unit Meeting ③ The Targets and Self-Introductions?!
“That’s not a bad idea…”
Hihino Chiharu’s words delivered a major shock not only to Lieutenant Kawana, but to almost every soldier in the room and those watching the broadcast.
“Now that you mention it… that’s true. Sergeant Major Nagato hasn’t had the chance to meet the representatives from each unit directly yet… Nagato.”
She looked past Lieutenant Kawana toward Nagato, who was seated on the other side.
“Introduce yourself.”
“Yes ma’am!”
At his Unit Commander’s order, Nagato quickly stood up and gave a crisp salute.
“I apologize for the late greeting! I am Sergeant Major Nagato Kai, assigned to this base six days ago!”
His salute was textbook perfect, right down to the angle of his arms. The female soldiers watching the live feed on their terminals had a visible change in their eyes. Hot sighs leaked from their lips.
“Okaaay~!”
A cheerful voice shattered the intoxicated gazes the young female soldiers were directing at Nagato. It was Unit Commander Hohosaki.
“From the Logistics Unit~… Major Hohosaki Ellie~! Nice to meeeet you~!”
She spun around on the spot like a figure skater. Her knee-length pleated skirt flared up, fully exposing her plump thighs. If one looked carefully, they might have even caught a glimpse of the pink panties underneath.
Fortunately, Nagato was staring straight ahead as per regulations, so he didn’t see it. However, he unconsciously blurted out, “Ah… from the Logistics Unit…”
“That’s right~! You knew~?”
Hohosaki Ellie’s loud voice, which completely ignored the atmosphere, caused a new vein to bulge on the forehead of Lieutenant Kawana, who was sitting right next to Nagato.
“Yes ma’am! Um… thank you very much for always providing delicious meals! You even delivered it to my room…”
Hohosaki Ellie had been listening to Nagato with a bright expression, but she suddenly cut him off.
“He said thank you~! That’s great, isn’t it, Hime no~!”
She turned to the black-haired girl sitting two seats away, who was looking down.
“This girl here~… was the one who carried Kai-kun’s meals to his room~!”
Hime no…?
Nagato kept his salute posture while only moving his eyes to look at the girl.
Today, Hime no Matsuri was not wearing her triangular headscarf. Because she had been looking down the entire time, Nagato hadn’t realized it was her until now — the same girl whose supple body he had caught in his arms in front of the official residence stairs, and whose abundant breasts his fingers had sunk into.
Now the center of attention, Hime no Matsuri blushed and glared up at Nagato with resentful eyes. Those burning pupils seemed to see through every single thought in his mind.
‘What the hell… you…! After doing something that embarrassing to me… you’re saying you didn’t even notice it was me?!’
Overwhelmed by the heat in her gaze, Nagato hurriedly returned his eyes forward.
“Sorry to interrupt…”
Unit Commander Hihino’s words conveniently came to Nagato’s rescue.
“Time is limited… I’d appreciate it if each unit could keep it short…”
“Okaaay~! Then… Medical & Sanitation Unit, you’re up~!”
Unit Commander Hohosaki gestured toward Hōgyoku Iori as if inviting a guest onto a studio stage. Since no one else was wearing a white uniform, it appeared she was the only representative from the Medical & Sanitation Unit.
“I-I’m sorry~… Sensei… I mean, Captain Nitani had a full schedule of examinations today… so I was the only one who could attend…”
She stood up and gave a small bow.
“No problem,” said the Infantry Unit Commander. “The purpose of this meeting is to share information between units and ensure the training proceeds without accidents or delays. As long as that goal is achieved, it doesn’t matter who attends…”
“Thank you very much~…!”
Lieutenant Hōgyoku bowed repeatedly to her.
“Heh heh… Human punchball…”
Blue-haired Ran muttered with a smirk. Kutō Takako’s elbow immediately dug into her side. Ran let out a choked “Ugh…!”
“Um… Lieutenant Hōgyoku…”
Sergeant Narumi spoke hesitantly. Although she outranked her, the lieutenant was nearly a full generation younger. On top of that, Narumi had been seen by her during that extremely embarrassing medical procedure, which left her at a disadvantage.
“I’m sorry, but could you please introduce yourself…?”
“Ah… I’m sorry~… Silly me…”
She let out a shy “tehehe” laugh and lightly tapped her own head. It went without saying that this gesture added yet another vein to Lieutenant Kawana’s forehead.
“Actually… I’ve already become acquainted with Sergeant Major… Together with Captain Nitani, we performed medical treatment for Sergeant Major’s condition…”
She suddenly stopped mid-sentence and covered her delicate lips with her hand. Her cheeks turned bright red all the way to her ears.
“Um… the de-details of the treatment are… um… strictly medical procedures, so it’s a privacy issue… p-please don’t ask about it, everyone…”
From her flustered reaction and the words “Captain Nitani’s treatment,” some — or perhaps dozens — of the soldiers watching the broadcast likely realized it was related to his lower body.
Lieutenant Hōgyoku fanned her flushed face with her palm like a uchiwa and sat back down.
“Well then… we’re the last ones, huh…”
Unit Commander Kutō Takako stood up.
“Facilities Unit… Kutō Takako. Nice to meet ya… Kai-kun…”
“Yes ma’am!” Nagato straightened his salute. “Pleased to meet you!”
“These two idiots here… you already know them, so no need for introductions…”
As she spoke, she lightly tapped the heads of the sulking Suzu and Ran on either side of her. Nagato maintained his salute and stayed silent.
These two had been relentlessly sending him “erect dick” attacks through KAZURA talk rooms every single day. Even when he hid the rooms, new ones would immediately pop up, filled with “erect dick” messages in every possible style and variation.
“Well then… it’s about time…”
Sergeant Narumi tried to wrap things up, but Kutō Takako interrupted her.
“Wait a sec~… Yui-chan. I’d like to hear Sergeant Major Nagato’s opinion, impressions, questions — anything really — about this joint training. He’s the most talked-about person in TSUGARU right now… I’m sure everyone watching the broadcast wants to hear from him too, right?”
Narumi and Lieutenant Kawana’s eyes met.
‘Good grief… this fox woman…’
Chapter 47: Sparks Fly: 4-Unit Meeting ④ The Women’s Appraisal
Lieutenant Kawana’s eyes made no attempt to hide her irritation.
She had long suspected the qualifications of Kutō Takako as a unit commander — the woman who continued to let the troublesome twins run wild after making her drink bitter cups of defeat multiple times.
“How about it, Chiharu-chan…? Ahan~. Yeah, you’re right. This is something we should ask Sergeant Major Nagato directly…”
“Yes ma’am!”
Nagato replied while staring straight ahead.
“If I may speak in this setting… I have one question…”
The gazes of everyone in the conference room — and even the soldiers watching the broadcast — focused on him. The ones radiating the most heat were the soldiers of the 1st Infantry Platoon.
They had been allowed to sit in the partitioned space right next to the main meeting room. They were essentially the audience for this meeting.
Through the several days of training so far, they had personally witnessed and experienced the physical abilities hidden within Nagato’s small frame. They were eager to hear what this outstanding officer candidate would say.
As usual, they were emitting pink fog from their heads while perking up every part of their bodies — not just their ears — to his voice.
“Of course that’s fine… Sergeant Major. Isn’t it, Chiharu-chan…?”
Hihino Chiharu nodded. Having received permission, Nagato spoke.
“My question concerns one of the stated purposes of this training — the visual trace investigation of enemy national forces…”
Several officers’ expressions shifted in reaction to his words. They may have already predicted what would come next.
“According to official documents, the gaps in the ‘Izanagi’ and ‘Izanami’ Defense Network are only a few millimeters… In that case, how is it possible for enemy forces to infiltrate the territory of ‘Hinomoto’…?”
The moment Nagato finished his question, he sensed a strangely tense atmosphere filling the conference room.
Huh…? Did I… say something weird again…?
The answer to his doubt came from beyond the partition in the form of rippling laughter that washed over the room.
The soldiers of the 1st Platoon — who until just moments ago had complete faith in his competence — were now suppressing their laughter. Nearly seventy of them were laughing in a way that resembled affection for a cute pet.
‘How adorable…’
To them, Nagato’s question sounded like the innocent, childish question anyone might ask in their youth.
Why is the sky blue?
It was on the same level as that cliché question. There was no need to think about it as long as the blue sky was there.
The soldiers from other platoons and units watching from separate rooms mostly showed similar reactions.
He looks competent, but he’s still just a teenage boy fresh out of officer academy. He still has so much to learn before he can join the adult world.
Quite a few women were entertaining slightly inappropriate fantasies in their heads, such as ‘If you want, I can teach you… hands-on…’
However, the officers were different. Not a single one of them reacted like the lower-ranking female soldiers.
“Nagato…”
Unit Commander Hihino quickly operated her terminal and confirmed that the cameras on every participant’s terminal were still properly recording. Whether anyone noticed her near-instant movement was unclear.
“I will explain that matter later…”
She spoke to Nagato in a very calm voice.
“I’m sorry, but please keep that question to yourself for now…”
For Sergeant Major Nagato, those words were the finishing blow. He realized he had proudly said something inappropriate for the setting.
Nagato turned visibly pale and accepted the order with a groaning voice. He then lowered his salute and quietly sat down.
Narumi Yui, Hōgyoku Iori, and Hime no Matsuri all looked at him with worried expressions.
“Why not, Chiharu-chan…?”
Kutō Takako asked with her signature narrow-eyed smile.
“If you can explain it, why not do it now…? We’d really like to hear it too…”
“Kutō…”
For the first time in this meeting, a sharp light appeared in Hihino Chiharu’s eyes — the dull glint of a well-oiled firearm.
“Well… fine, I guess…”
The Facilities Unit Commander chuckled. Her expression said she would deliberately back off here.
“Excuse me~…!”
Just as Sergeant Narumi tried to close the murky atmosphere, a cheerful voice interrupted. Logistics Unit Commander Hohosaki Ellie had stood up.
“Hey everyone~ Listen~! I suddenly remembered something~… Speaking of the Black Hair Mountain Range~… there’s a scary~ ghost story, right~?!”
Her voice and the absurd topic completely ignored the mood of the room, leaving even Hihino Chiharu speechless.
“This ghost~… is a young~ and beautiful~ female ghost~. She died before she could even experience her first love~, so she holds a grudge~. Whenever she sees couples~ or mixed-gender groups~, she attacks indiscriminately to rip out their hearts~! Scary, right~…? Her name is… Yamimaru~!”
“Kyaaa…!”
A scream like a small bird having its throat squeezed made even Hohosaki Ellie stop talking.
“S-s-s-stop it…! Please… stop~! I really can’t… I can’t handle ghosts at all~…!”
Her voice was already wet with tears.
“Unit Commander Hohosaki,” Hihino Chiharu said. “I would like you to refrain from casually spreading uncertain information, especially ghost stories, in an official setting like this. Based on past experience, such topics only hinder soldiers’ performance and never help…”
“Waaah~! I’m sorry~! Sorry, Hōgyoku Lieutenant~! Ellie made a biiig mistake~!”
She winked and stuck her tongue out cutely at Lieutenant Hōgyoku.
There was one other person in the room who had received a similar shock from the silly ghost story. It was the person who would normally be the first to get angry at irrelevant chatter — Lieutenant Kawana.
Although she didn’t make a scene like Iori, her heart was far from calm.
Yamimaru… Yami-maru… Yami demon… Yami… Yami… Yami…
The word Hohosaki Ellie had uttered swirled around in her head, constantly changing shape, as if waiting for a chance to rip out her heart with its supernatural power.
Even Hihino Chiharu failed to notice the terror that had been awakened inside the lieutenant.
However, the twins — her sworn enemies Suzu and Ran — had noticed.
They quietly exchanged glances. The two secretly vowed to run their god-given genius at full power.
Their goal: to trap Lieutenant Kawana once again.
Chapter 48: Perverted Trap 2 ①: Mysterious Cargo
Logistics Supply EV Truck.
Even though each truck’s motor was said to be nearly silent, when nearly twenty of them lined up together, they produced a considerable humming sound that echoed across the training ground.
Loading of supplies onto the cargo beds had already been completed. All that remained was to wait for final confirmation reports from each unit’s personnel.
This four-unit joint training was held regularly, but because the travel distance was longer than usual this time, preparing and loading the supplies had taken far more time than expected. The sun had already dipped low, and dusk was approaching.
Lieutenant Kawana Rin, who was overseeing the supply operation, had already instructed the drivers of each truck to move to the parking area beside the base’s main gate immediately after final checks.
Her camouflage uniform, matching cap, and survival boots accentuated her tall, supple figure in the twilight — a sight that could make even other women stare in admiration.
“Medical & Sanitation Unit supplies… confirmation complete~…”
A petite woman came running over from the other side, in contrast to Kawana. She wore a white short-sleeved uniform and short pants. Her silver-rimmed glasses were crooked under her shoulder-length black hair.
‘So it’s her…’
Kawana felt like yelling at her, but remembering that this girl had been terrified of “Yamimaru” — the ghost name the Logistics Unit Commander had mentioned during the meeting — she calmed herself. After all, Lieutenant Kawana herself harbored the same fear.
“Lieutenant Hōgyoku…”
She spoke in a composed tone.
“Reports should follow proper format… Stand still, salute, and then speak…”
“I-I’m sorry~…”
Breathing heavily, the lieutenant stood before her. Her glasses were still crooked.
“I almost fell…”
Even while saluting, her form was sloppy. It was so bad that Kawana thought it could be posted on the base wall as an example of “How Not to Salute.”
“Medical & Sanitation Unit… confirmation complete~…”
“Acknowledged…”
‘And yet… she’s strangely hard to hate…’
Perhaps because they shared the same weakness, Kawana thought as she looked down at the binder in her hands. She was checking which unit was still behind on their report — the one delaying everyone else.
‘It’s us…!’
Now that she was paying attention, she noticed that the gazes around her had grown cold.
The Logistics and Facilities Units had already finished their final confirmations before the Medical Unit. However, due to the nature of the joint training, no unit could leave until all confirmations were complete.
‘What the hell are they dawdling for…?’
Having run out of patience, Lieutenant Kawana walked around to inspect the cargo beds of the trucks carrying the infantry unit’s supplies. She called out the name of the soldier she had assigned to final checks.
“Mita…! Private First Class Mita…!”
“Ah… yes! Sorry, Lieutenant…”
From the cargo bed of one truck, Private First Class Mita popped her head out. She was a woman in her early twenties with short hair dyed in a light color.
“You’re late… How long are you planning to—”
“It’s not my fault, Lieutenant…”
She replied in a carefree tone.
“Nagato-kun… I mean, Sergeant Major said there was some unfamiliar cargo…”
“Huh…?”
Irritation showed clearly on Kawana’s face.
“That can’t be right. We checked everything during loading. Isn’t it just some cargo from another unit that got mixed in…?”
“But… it definitely has our unit’s marking on it…”
This is going nowhere…
With that expression, she jumped up onto the truck’s cargo bed. Despite no preparatory motion, she cleared nearly a meter of height without effort.
‘These people are really slacking off… Especially since the 4-man cell assignments were announced…’
The 4-man cells for the night march consisted of a route leader, scout, communicator, and sniper.
Naturally, almost every female soldier wanted to be in the same team as Nagato. This was obvious from the pink fog constantly rising from their heads, and some even openly declared it. It was the perfect spark for conflict.
Taking the situation seriously, the Unit Commander had formed a special team consisting of herself, Lieutenant Kawana, Sergeant Narumi, and Nagato. It went without saying that this decision caused a significant drop in morale across the entire infantry unit for this joint training.
‘They’re trying to monopolize Sergeant Major Nagato among the commanders…’
Jealousy and envy were blatantly visible in the attitudes of some female soldiers. Private First Class Mita was one of the most prominent examples.
Even among the young women of the 1st Platoon, she was particularly bold and unafraid to voice her thoughts and desires. This was actually influenced by Lieutenant Kawana herself, though the lieutenant had no intention of admitting it. She also had no intention of tolerating their disrespectful attitude toward the Unit Commander she admired.
To tighten up the slack soldiers and make an example of someone, Lieutenant Kawana had deliberately assigned Mita to manage the supplies. This was the result.
“So… where is it?”
“Over there… in the back…”
Even her casually broken speech, which Kawana usually overlooked, was now grating on her nerves. Still, she endured it.
Deep in the dark cargo bed covered by a thick khaki tarp, a narrow gap between stacked supplies revealed a pale blue LED light.
“Nagato…?”
There was no reply.
Was he so focused on checking the mysterious cargo that he hadn’t noticed his superior approaching?
“What are you doing…?”
“Ah… sorry…”
He was still squatting on the cargo bed floor with his back to her. Lieutenant Kawana peered over his shoulder.
It was a nearly square box, about the size of two tissue boxes stacked together. At first glance, it looked more like a solid metal block.
She stood beside him, picked up the LED light from the floor, and shone it directly at his face. Nagato instinctively covered his eyes from the bright glare.
“Enough already… We’re holding up the other units…”
“But… this…”
“What is it?”
She pointed the light at the silver object on his lap. As Mita had said, it definitely bore the infantry unit’s marking.
“I’ve never seen this before…”
“Yes… and it’s really heavy…”
“Let me see…”
Still holding the light in one hand, she reached out to take it.
“It’s heavy…”
He warned her again, but she urged him to hand it over quickly. Reluctantly, Nagato placed the box in her palm.
“Uoh…!”
An involuntary sound escaped Kawana Rin’s lips. The weight was far greater than its appearance suggested — possibly over 40 kilograms. She didn’t drop it, but she didn’t want to hold it for long either. She placed it on top of the nearby cargo.
“What the hell is this…?”
“I don’t know… That’s why I was trying to check inside…”
She shone the light on it again. Given its weight, she thought it might be some kind of counterweight.
However, upon closer inspection, there was indeed a thin seam on the surface that looked like it could be opened. It really did appear to be a box.
“Nagato… Can you carry this back to our unit’s warehouse…?”
“Eh… ah… yes,” he replied. “I think I can…”
“Good… Mita…!”
“Yes!”
The Private First Class, who had been watching from the entrance of the cargo bed, answered. The space was too narrow for her to enter.
“All supplies are accounted for, right?!”
“Yes… Except for this weird box…”
Lieutenant Kawana cut off Mita’s words.
“Sergeant Major and I will take this box back to the infantry warehouse. You will inform all units that final supply checks are complete and guide every vehicle to the parking area at the main entrance. Tell the Facilities Unit to begin charging the vehicles…”
“Ehh… But…!”
Mita protested.
“After this, we… Nagato-kun and I… promised to go to the cafeteria together…”
Kawana wanted to slap her across the face as hard as she could. Instead, she clenched her teeth and endured it once again.
Today had been nothing but endurance.
Black smoke like from a raging fire was rising from her head. Mita, of course, didn’t notice.
“Your reply…?”
She asked in a suppressed voice.
“Huh…?”
Mita looked at her blankly.
“Your reply!!”
“Yes ma’am! Understood!”
Struck by the verbal thunder, she finally straightened up.
“Let’s go…!”
Without another word, Lieutenant Kawana turned and walked off. She didn’t even glance at Mita as she passed her saluting figure.
Nagato hurriedly stood up and easily picked up the silver box that the lieutenant had placed on the cargo. Even though he was using both hands, he didn’t look like he was carrying something that weighed 40 kilograms.
The infantry unit warehouse was located after exiting the training ground and turning right past the Facilities Unit building. It was the same warehouse where she and Nagato had fallen into the twins’ trap and been suspended from the ceiling a few days earlier.
It wasn’t an especially long distance, but carrying a 40kg box without handles was no easy task. Yet when they arrived in front of the warehouse, Nagato showed no signs of fatigue and his breathing was perfectly steady.
‘Second Generation, huh…’
Kawana Rin muttered inwardly. Those were the words the Unit Commander had spoken four days ago during the first full-scale training session that included Nagato — the basic infantry movements training.
