When I Reincarnated, I Became Even More of a Gorilla - 7
Today is another day of searching around the usual scavenging spots. Of course, I fought with the bear again, but our match was also not settled today.
Ahh, it has been 6 days since I met Elena and Misha. If everything goes as promised, tomorrow will be the day Elena and anyone coming with her will arrive.
I’m looking forward to this rare opportunity to interact with people, but I’m also feeling a bit flustered. After all, even though they relied on me, I still haven’t found the ring.
Seriously, I wasn’t able to find it. To be honest, I feel reluctant fighting them, but they said they dropped it when they were fighting Goblins, so I tried crushing some Goblin strongholds to search in those areas, but it wasn’t there.
Just like that, the number of scavenging points increased along with the items I acquired, but all I found were things resembling rings, only to find out that they were not.
Now then, let’s keep on with the search today. I don’t concern myself with how many places I go around to. I’m glad I’ve become a gorilla, because I have this inexhaustible stamina and herculean strength. With these, I can get around a lot and also get rid of obstacles. I’ve even found some pretty jewels hidden in Goblin strongholds.
Alright, let’s start with the first spot. This one’s a miss. Today’s first stop is a Goblin stronghold that was razed by Orcs, not me.
Well then, there’s nothing here, so let’s move on.
Locations 2 to 10. These are also misses. The bodies of the Orcs, Goblins and wolves I killed a long time ago have been reduced to bones before I knew it.
I didn’t eat their meat, so I guess other wild animals and monsters gobbled it up and left only the bones.
Locations 11 to 30. Again, nothing of note. I faced an Orc along the way that surprisingly had a metallic sword, and I thought I was in danger of getting stabbed, but the sword ended up breaking instead. Maybe it was an old one. Its head had probably gotten too big because it had a sword. Even though these Orcs hadn’t been attacking me anymore lately……
Well, I collected the sword with the broken blade.
Locations 31 to 50. Here I found something that looked kinda valuable. I think it’s a pendant, with a green gemstone attached to it. Emerald, perhaps?
It probably has nothing to do with Elena and Misha, but it’s beautiful, so I’ll take it home and store it in a beautiful container.
Locations 51 to 80. These locations are in that bear’s territory, so I shouldn’t venture into this place too much. However, since there’s that bear around here, there’s constant fighting, and while I was fishing, I could see fights, or rather, killing happenings here and there.
I wanted to end things here quickly, but someone in the area found me and insisted on picking a fight with me, so I had no choice but to deal with it. That’s why going around here took some time.
The harvest was mainly materials. Elena and Misha would probably just feel troubled if they received a humanoid one, but if it’s a beast’s pelt, with human craftsmanship, it could be put to good use.
If I had leather tanning skills, I could have done that and given it to them already processed, but I don’t think there are any 35-year-old men in modern society who know how to do that.
Locations 81 to 100. These locations are mainly around the boundary of the forest, quite far from my crib. Past it would be the plains, which I found by pioneering after meeting Elena and Misha, which is the entrance to the forest for the people and the exit from the forest for us.
It seems that people also come to the shallow part of the forest around here, as I saw several people with sharp-looking swords that were clearly of a different quality to the weapons that the Orcs had. Are those the Adventurers that were a staple in fantasy novels? Some of them even had weapons with mana in them, which was scary.
Of course, I’m not a human anymore, but as a former human, I don’t attack them, trying to avoid them as much as possible.
If I tried to leave the forest, they would find me and attack me, and if they attacked me with such dangerous swords, even my gorilla body would be shredded.
As Elena was vaguely aware of my presence, people like them had come to the depths of the forest and spotted me.
I don’t mind being called the King of the Forest, but I wonder why they thought that.
My main purpose here is to secretly collect things dropped by these people. Most fights tend to happen in open spaces, so I look around those areas. Well, there wasn’t anything significant today. If I had to point out something, it would be something like a partially broken lantern. Since I can feel mana from it, could it be the magic tool I see in fantasy novels? I’m not really sure, but even though I don’t know how to use it, I’ll just take it home.
And so, about 100 spots have been gone through for my daily patrol. I haven’t had the chance to leave the forest so far, but I hope that such a day comes.
There’s no doubt I died on Earth, but I came to this world because of the owner of that voice. I hope I can one day meet them and thank them.
I had no parents and no relatives. I don’t have any attachments left on Earth. If I had to point out something, it would be my desire to eat bananas, but that would just be a luxury.
Now, tomorrow is the day when Elena and Misha will come. I’ll go back to bed tonight and organize or display today’s harvest. The sky seems to be turning gloomy, so it’s better to finish things early.

Beneath the sporadic rain, I returned to the cave where I slept. First, I stored the emerald pendant and the animal fur in my magic bag, along with the fruits I picked while wandering around. I realized that if I put them in this satchel, they would deteriorate slower than if they were outside, so it’s killing two birds with one stone.
I’ll bring the beautiful things I’ve gathered so far tomorrow, just in case. Even if I didn’t have the ring, they might spot something else.
The rest would be the broken sword and the broken lantern. They’re already beyond deterioration, so I’ll just display them in the cave as they are. To prevent them from getting wet in the rain, I’ve put the wood I’ve collected up against the entrance to the cave, acting like some kind of door, so they’re safe.
While I was saying this, I started to hear a sound outside, and it seemed that the rain had started to fall in earnest. The sound of the rain reminds me of the rain at the time of my death.
At that time, I heard a truck horn mixed with the sound of the rain, but I wonder what happened after that? What about that child? I don’t know how things are like over there, but I hope the child’s okay.
