【Future Sight】Saving Tragic Beautiful Girls and Making Them Obsessively Fall for Me 〜I Selfishly “Helped” the Witches Who Were Gonna Destroy the World Just to Train My Martial Arts, and Now They’re All Dripping with Obsession and Worshipping Me〜 - Chapter 5
Chapter 5
—I had a dream.
It felt way too real—the colors, the textures, the smells, all exactly like the real thing. I figured it out right away. [Future Sight] again.
Man, if it’s my own magic, it’d be nice if I could just use it whenever I wanted. But the timing and the effect? I can’t control any of it. Super annoying.
Anyway. While I stared hard at the scenery in the dream, I tried to figure out just how far into the future this was.
A ruined city covered in rubble… in one corner of the slums, facing off against a certain person.
Long jet-black hair, a slender frame. An older girl with a face so perfectly beautiful it was almost scary. But she had this thick purple mana writhing around her body like mud.
—A “witch,” huh.
The second I thought that, dream-me rushed straight toward her. I got all excited thinking it was a fight, but… total letdown. No fists flying at all. I got even closer than fighting range, and my feet still didn’t stop.
Right when I started wondering how far I was gonna go—
Our eyes locked up super close. Her mouth whispered something.
And then…
Our faces drew together like they were gonna overlap—
“…Hm. No clue why it turned out like that, but yeah, it’s definitely real. —Pretty soon, a witch is gonna awaken in the slums.”
I muttered that as I sat up in bed.
Another perfect chance to sharpen my martial arts—!
So yeah.
I quickly got ready in the morning, headed to the academy, got through the whole day without anything happening—and now I’m looking down at this pink head that’s been stuck to me the entire time for some reason.
All the classes are over, I’m walking toward the exit on academy grounds, but seriously, how far is she gonna follow?
While I was thinking that, Fuka noticed my gaze, looked up at me, and her eyes sparkled as she stared right back. The way she did it kinda reminded me of a loyal dog waiting for its owner’s command.
“—Taylor-kun, something wrong? Want me to carry your bag?”
“Oh… even the line sounds exactly like that.”
I don’t actually need help, though.
But refusing her at this point is just too much hassle. If I say no, she’ll just throw out another suggestion right away and it’ll never end, so ignoring her and walking is probably fine.
“No? Okay then… are you thirsty maybe? I can grab a juice from the cafeteria!”
“…Nah, I’m good.”
“Oh, okay, no thanks… Hmm, then…”
Doesn’t matter if I say it or not. Whatever, just brush her off casually.
I kept walking without stopping, dragging along Fuka who was frowning cutely while thinking hard.
Man. She’s been like this the whole day. I’m usually alone at the academy, so having someone glued to me the entire time feels super weird.
When the usual noble jerks in class started mocking me like normal, it almost turned into a huge scene—she nearly beat the crap out of them on the spot. Never thought a small, girly-looking girl like her would lose it and go full beatdown on nobles.
…From her side, she’s probably just trying to repay me for letting her stay by acting like a maid or whatever. Even though I already told her ahead of time I don’t need that kinda thing.
“Fuka.”
“Ah, yes! What is it? Need something!?”
“Nah, not that. Look… I really don’t need any of that. The whole servant thing.”
“Eh…”
Her face instantly clouded over.
“D-Did I… maybe bother you all day today…?”
“Not exactly bother, but it’s a burden, right? For you too.”
From what I vaguely remember, Fuka was a top student at the academy. Unlike me, she can actually use magic properly, so shouldn’t she be too busy for babysitting a dropout?
I said it thinking I was being considerate to her.
“Th-That’s not true at all!”
Whoa… loud.
“Fuka’s doing all this because Fuka wants to! Paying you back… yeah, that’s part of it, sure! But but, this is seriously what Fuka wants to do…!”
“Really?”
“Yeah, really! So… if Taylor-kun doesn’t think it’s a bother…”
Then Fuka looked at me with these kinda moist, intense eyes and said,
“—Please let Fuka stay by your side…?”
…Hm. Well, if she herself says she wants to.
“I don’t have any special reason to turn you down.”
The second I said that, her face lit up like a flower blooming—totally different from how she looked just before.
“Yay…! Then tomorrow, the day after, and forever after that too! Let Fuka work for Taylor-kun—!”
She said it all cute while bouncing a little. But man, the temperature difference between us is wild… eh, whatever. I’m done caring.
“Alright, Fuka. Right away—or actually, I wasn’t gonna ask you or anything, but I’ve got somewhere to go after this today. If you wanna tag along, do whatever.”
“! Yeah, of course! I’ll follow you anywhere! By the way… can I ask where we’re going?”
“Yeah, the destination’s fine.”
While the taste of yesterday’s real fight was still fresh, my chest pounded thinking about the next battle.
I told Fuka.
“A brothel in the slums called Karakuri Clock Pavilion. That’s where we’re headed.”
Right after that.
Fuka’s expression flipped to shock in an instant. Then her face darkened a bit as she mumbled quietly.
“The Karakuri Clock Pavilion… was Fuka’s old home…”
Yeah.
Fuka’s the first heroine and she’s not a witch, but next up is a witch. The setting’s a brothel, so… feels like some serious clouding’s about to happen.
