For I Am A Side Character - 145: ...
In this desolate room, after I gave freedom to the child that was imprisoned in this room, I looked to Jason and saw that he was no longer in pain.
“…” although he showed an expression of regressing from his former pain, he looked to me with a slight relief.
“Are you okay?” I asked.
“I…I’m fine. Thank you.” he said.
But right after, just as I expected, after releasing the innocent soul that was bound in this factory, the factory responded kindly by initiating it’s automatize command to search for another innocent soul. A replacement of sorts.
And because this region held villages in certain areas, it won’t take long before it could find another replacement. Children that were newly born under the ages of one and below, statistically, there is at least ten found in this region.
And more to that, the red factory had already embedded it’s tendrils deep into the ground. Maybe an hour from now, it’ll probably find another replacement by digging through and across the land.
I needed to solve this issue fast.
“W-what’s happening?! this entire place is shaking!” said Jason we both felt the vibrations that was similar to that of a rumbling stomach.
“…It’s trying to look for another source.”
“A source?! what do you mean by that?”
“It doesn’t matter. What matters is that we destroy this entire place, and that starts by tearing it away along with it’s roots.”
“I don’t understand what you’re saying, but it seems like you know what you’re doing. So how can I help?” asked Jason as he slowly stood up.
“Good…but you can’t help me. Not as you are today. You’re still too young.” I said.
“Then what do you want me to do?”
“…”
***
Below the red factory, at the sight of a destructive scene…
A demon was found speared off the ground. It’s body was pierced with spears made of shadows while it’s flesh was burned half to death.
No longer was it’s healing factor strong enough to accommodate for all the pain and suffering it felt against two of the most feared warriors at that ground.
One was a fiery goddess who stood with an unending rage, while the other was a silent dark warrior who stood with a quiet anger.
Just a couple of minutes ago, giants of pale flesh kept falling from the red factory, yet none came to touch the two warrior’s flesh as the flame goddess would always repel them with ease, using her flame like a wave of fire, continuously burning through the trash that was going against her way and will.
She and this dark enraged warrior all kept their attention on the Demon…
At the sight of his remaining sanity, the demon could barely keep itself alive from how much damage they had inflicted on both his soul and flesh.
“…I can’t help but feel that all of this was pointless…you took my brother away from me.” said the dark warrior as he approached the demon one step at a time.
And as that warrior spoke his pain, he stabbed the demon straight in the heart with a blade made of shadow. But that wasn’t enough to kill the demon.
“Arhhhh!!!” the demon screamed in pain.
“…” But the warrior could care less about the scream he was hearing. He hoped that those screams were enough to maybe calm his heart, but no…a lost was a lost no matter how much he tries to replace it.
“…I think it’s time that we end this.” said the fiery goddess as she was surprisingly calm about all of this.
“…Why?” he asked.
“We need to settle that issue as well.” she said as she pointed to the red factory above.
“…That can wait.” he said.
“No it can’t. you may not realize this, but I know what that thing can be capable of doing. That is called the red factory, and it’s capable of destroying an entire country in just a day if we let it be.”
“…”
“You may notice it because of the damage we did to the entire forest, but the tendrils it’s put into the ground is slowly draining away the life force of this forest and creating those giants that keep…wait, what?” just as Jessabelle was explaining what that Red Factory was, she suddenly noticed that it stopped creating those giant flesh warriors.
She noticed that the red factory has halted…
‘What’s going on? Why isn’t it producing more armies?’ she asked herself.
“…Listen, I don’t know who you are…but it’s clear that you have some sort of connection to Soril. You’re strong, that I can admit…but you don’t get to tell me what to do with my revenge.” said Cecil in anger.
“…Fine, then stay here…I’ll handle the factory on my own.” Seeing as how Jessabelle couldn’t convince Cecil that easily, she decided to move on her own.
Halting the flame she made, she then flew into the air and readied herself into attacking the red factory.
By herself, she was confident that she could burn away everything about the red factory physically.
But that wasn’t the issue.
She was worried about the one thing that keeps the red factory truly a worthy enemy.
It’s source of power.
As long as an innocent soul lives to move the factory, the factory itself will never be destroyed. In the genius of the Demon King’s work, he was capable of molding the innocent soul into a source of origin that would always reconstruct any damage put into the physical body of the red factory.
So even if Jessabelle were to destroy it physically, the soul, in an unnatural element, as long as it isn’t destroyed, it will continue to provide and reconstruct the Red Factory even at the origins starting from the ashes burned from Jessabelle’s attack.
And to her knowledge, there were only two people capable of destroying the Red Factory and it’s soul…
Jason Emory, with his blue fire gift coming from God. Capable of destroying a demon and it’s influence.
And Soril Remus…who, to her knowledge, in the many lives she’s seen in her memory, Soril in his divinity was capable of redeeming an innocent soul.
Jessabelle herself, doesn’t have the power to erase the influence of an innocent soul. That is not how her birth skill was made to be.
So, to resolve the issue of that problem, she had to look for Jason. The only person left to clean up this mess.
As she flew up to the red factory, she expected that in Jason’s nature…that in her memories, in her knowledge of looking to the many lives she’s lived, Jason would naturally be in the Red Factory, on instinct alone.
Just as how he was made to be a hunting dog to kill any influence put by the demons, Jessabelle could only think that the red factory was Jason’s main target in all the commotion put in the region. After all, just by looking at the red factory, she could sense it’s demonic aura being put about like that of a sun’s natural display. Not a single person in this region will not ignore this factory for what it is.
And to her expectation, as she came above the red factory, she looked to the entrances put about on its side and saw that only one entrance was forced open by what seemed like fire marks.
“Hmm, he clearly went through that entrance.” she said as she recognized Jason’s fire patterns left by his attacks.
As she was heading down to land on that entrance, unexpectedly, a portal opened up and what came out of it was Jason carrying Jessica on his arms. She was unconscious while Jason looked extremely tired.
“!?” Jessabelle was curious as to why he left through that portal…
But more to that, it wasn’t just the two of them who left.
By the next second, a man in an armor made of unexplainable material came walking out.
The design of his attire was unlike anything she has ever seen in her life…
‘Who is that?’ she asked herself.
But to her question, the man who walked out of that portal wearing that strange armor quickly took notice of Jessabelle.
“…”
“…”
The two stared eye to eye with one another, and feeling curious by that man’s stare, Jason also turned to where he was staring and was surprised to find a fiery goddess floating above the red factory.
“Who is that? Is she an enemy?!” asked Jason in worry.
“No….I don’t think so. But you have to go now, I’ll handle the rest of this mess.” said the man in armor.
“…O-okay.” said Jason as he jumped off of the red factory.
What was left of that scene was the man in armor and the fiery goddess…
And seeing as how the woman wasn’t attacking, the man turned his back to the woman and walked back inside the red factory.
But right before he could leave without saying anything, the fiery goddess broke the silence at last.
“Wait!” she said as her voice sounded nervous.
“…” the man in armor halted, but he didn’t turn to face the fiery woman.
“…Who are you?” she asked as she could not recognize who that man was as his face was covered by a helm that resembled a knight’s honor.
“…I could ask you the same thing, but right now…I have other things to settle. This can wait later.”
With his voice muffled by the helm, Jessabelle could not recognize who this person was by his voice alone. Yet something about this person made her oddly nervous.
As she floated in closer to initiate conversation, she asked him a question.
“…You didn’t attacked Jason, so I can assume that you’re not my enemy as well. Correct?” she asked.
“I don’t think I can answer that question when I don’t even know who you are.” said the man.
“I…my identity…” Jessabelle hesitated as she couldn’t take the risk with this stranger. Her identity alone was something she couldn’t say aloud just to anyone.
But something inside her was telling her that he was someone worth calling out to.
“If you can’t tell me who you are, then you’re only wasting my time.” said the man as he continued walking back into the inside of the red factory.
From the way he was avoiding conflict with her, it made her think that maybe he wasn’t an enemy…
But his intentions were unclear from how he was walking back inside the red factory.
“What do you intend to do?!” she asked
But the man continued forward. Ignoring Jessabelle entirely.
And feeling ignored, Jessabelle retaliated. She threw a fireball the size of a car at the man, thinking that at the last second, she could stop her attack, to show that she was serious and in return, he might be able to answer her.
But the moment her attack got close, the man in armor quickly turned his body around to face her again.
And just from the sheer force of his body turning caused the winds to rumble about. And from it, her attack was extinguished.
He did nothing but turn his body to the fireball, and that alone caused it to be canceled.
“!?” she was shocked.
Who was this person to be capable of such a feat?!
After so, the man only sighed and simply ignored her again.
But only after leaving her a warning.
“…Do that again, and I won’t be so easy on you.” he said as his voice weirdly spoke of authority.
She couldn’t help but take his words to heart.
And she halted all too easily against this man.
‘…’ because for some reason, she felt fear simply by his voice alone.
Her…a person capable of defeating fallen angels. A Fiery Goddess.
She was afraid all too easily by the man before her.
Something about that man compelled her to obey.
The next thing she knew, the man disappeared into the Red Factory…
And by the next second of his disappearance, all of a sudden, the entire Red Factory Shook.
Vibrations could be felt both on the factory itself and on the ground beneath it where it’s tendrils were embedded.
And not long after, the Red Factory, in a shocking development, suddenly rose above to a higher level.
Jessabelle could see that little by little, the Red Factory was rising higher into the air. While down below, the tendrils were being stretched apart, as if they were being uprooted from the ground like weeds.
She knew then that the only explanation behind this sudden development was that the man in the strange armor must have done something for it to rise even higher at a forced rate.
And in actually, her thoughts were right.
Inside the Red Factory, the man in armor was found pushing on the ceiling with all that he had in his power.
He was lifting it with his bare hands alone.
Forcing the red factory to be pulled off from the ground. Tendrils and all.
It was the only way to secure the fact that nothing would remain from being uprooted in it’s entirety.
Right after the other, he continued forcing the red factory off of the base of the ground. Yet the stretch of the tendrils were so deep, it took over minutes of continuous pushing for him to finally pass through this agitating phase of the Red Factory.
Through all his efforts, he continued lifting up the red factory…all the way until they passed atmosphere of the planet.
And what was left was the man carrying the red factory into the dead of space.
As he exited the red factory, below him, he could see the entirety of the planet, Atlanta.
It was unknown how it was possible, but with his newly made body, the man in armor, Soril…he could breath even without air.
And seeing the Red Factory beside him, he could see that it’s tendrils were stretched so far, it was about thirty kilometers in length. It was stretched far enough to have been capable of passing through a planet’s crust.
Seeing that, he felt relieved that it couldn’t stretch farther.
If it continued on, it could have reached out to other countries and spread it’s influence.
But now that it was separated, it was finally time to settle the matter with this Red Factory.
“…Now then, lets finally end this.” as Soril said those words, he stretched out his hand and manifested a blade.
A simple looking blade that showed no importance.
It was simply a sword made just like any other.
And pointing out his sword to the red Factory, his gaze turned sharp and his breath became still.
His purpose was clear…
To destroy the abomination before him.
“…Mountain…splitter.”
In that whisper of his…
His sword suddenly glowed in a flashing light.
Power gathered in that blade…
A power filled with purpose and divinity.
And in one swing alone, everything that crossed against that light was erased.
His attack was so powerful, that the space alone was bending to his will.
He could hear it as he sliced through the existence of the red factory.
Both the thundering noise of two suns colliding could be heard.
*boom~*
It was a silent yet enigmatic feeling as that power came to be released.
And then came the silence of the void in front of him…
It was but an instant…an instant that felt so powerful.
If he had directed that strike at the planet below him, he could have easily split a continent in two…
His newly found power was so fierce…so destructive…
He couldn’t help but feel the weight of it all.
But at the end of it all, he only had one thing to say.
“haa, this has been…a tiring day.”
…
…
…
…
Yet despite all his expectations for this day having ended, something unexpected happened yet again.
“…My lord.” said a voice that appeared beside him.
As he slowly turned his head, he met a familiar face that was standing in front of the sun.
His visage was something Soril could not easily forget…his presence spoke of power that only so few could come between.
“…” It was the warrior who spoke to him before in times of hardships. The Aranean Warrior who guided his spirit to walk the righteous path.
“…It’s you.” said Soril.
“…I greet you my lord.”
Standing before him in a physical form, Soril couldn’t help but be taken aback.
How was it possible…
“Were you always watching?” he asked.
“I did…and I didn’t expect that God would give you a new body.”
“…Its…as you can see, I got unfairly stronger.” said Soril.
“…True, but how you attain that power doesn’t matter. Fair or not, power is still power and how you use it matters more than anything. It’s nothing but a tool.” said the warrior.
“…Why are you here?” Asked Soril as he was curious by this sudden visit.
“I just wanted to say hi properly. Despite all the things I’ve watched you do, it’s only necessary that I greet you now in this time, now that you are in space. You have been officially made into his son, and that alone is enough of a reason to greet you with grace.”
“What?” as Soril asked this, he saw that the warrior knelled before him as if he was royalty.
“I greet your grace, God’s son.” said the Aranean Warrior as he knelled with such discipline.
“…If that’s the case, then so be it.” said Soril as he accepted this greeting hesitantly.
“You must be curious about the location of my appearance. Why I appeared before you in the dead of space.” said the warrior.
“…” Soril looked around and saw that behind this warrior was the sun.
And all but a hunch, he spoke.
“…The sun…you were somewhere in the sun?”
“Yes, you are right. I have been stationed in the sun…awaiting for the possible attack of the Demon King’s army. If they are to ever reach this solar system, I will act to protect the worlds surrounding my reach.”
Aranean Warriors.
Born in the world of Atlanta as the first generation of warriors…
They were made for only one reason and one reason alone.
To be the protectors against the demon army.
And through their efforts, their bodies continuously grew all up to a point that their strength could have easily shattered the planet into dust.
A total of 5000 aranean warriors were made and born.
And through God’s wonders…he spread them all across the universe. Acting and stationed as the sun that protects each and every planet that is in the possibility of being invaded by the Demon Army.
One aranean warrior was capable of destroying a planet…
Their sheer physical prowess was more than enough to go against even the Angels of the first generation.
They were the guardians made to be the weapons to hold off the invading armies.
And the one who stands before Soril was one of those warriors.
“I see, so that’s why you’re history in the planet was barely present. God took you out and spread you across the universe.” said Soril.
“Yes…some of the stars you see that’s glinting in the dead of space is a warrior stationed to protect a certain vicinity of the universe.”
“…I see.”
Hearing those words being explained by the Aranean Warrior, Soril couldn’t help but think back to the words said to him by God. By the sheer strength and number alone, one fact and reminder was put on at the front of his mind.
“…True judgement will come. A war will be made against our enemies, with me leading the heavenly army.” it was nothing but a whisper, yet the weight of his words were heavy.
“Truly, a war will come.” said the Aranean Warrior.
…
Silence came about that…a brooding silence.
…
But Soril invoked his words despite the dead silence in space.
“…I’m scared.” said Soril as his voice was shaking.
“…I am too…but we have responsibilities to carry.”
“…Yes….yes, you are right.”
In this meeting…in the way the two were seen…
Soril could do nothing but grip his hand tight and whisper to himself.
“…My responsibilities remain.”
As he said those words, he turned his way to the planet below.
And he could see the beauty of God’s creation…
The blue ocean…the green forest…the sandy plains…the swirling storms…
“…” the sight of it all made him shed a tear.
In the silence of his appreciation for the world, the Aranean Warrior decided to leave.
“I must go now, I still have a duty to perform. But know that I will watch over you my lord and I will guide you in the truth of the warrior’s path.”
“Thank you, I appreciate that.” said Soril.
As the warrior said his goodbyes, Soril witnessed the warrior turn into a fading light. And that light flew straight into the sun.
Seeing the sun at a far distance, Soril could feel the warmth of its light.
Wanting to appreciate it, he took off the helm hiding his face, and he felt the sun’s ever warm embrace.
A sense of peace was all that was around him.
The dead of space gave him that peace…
But not before long, it was halted yet again by a sudden intrusion of a person, he was not expecting.
As he gazed the beauty of the sun, another warmth came about behind him.
A familiar warmth that could only ever be compared to another sun.
Having slowly turned his head, he came to meet face to face, the sight of the fiery goddess.
“…”
“…”
And the two stared at each other…
One wondering over the other of questions that they could not answer.
Soril could not recognized who this fiery goddess was as she was full of flames…
Yet, the same could not be said for the Goddess herself.
“…” her hands were shaking…not out of fear, but of disbelief.
And feeling ever so foolish that she could not recognize her beloved, she couldn’t gather the strength to take one step further.
She was afraid that maybe this was all an illusion.
But his face…his eyes…there was never going to be anything like it.
No one could ever replace that face…those eyes…and that heartbeat.
“…I’m sorry that I couldn’t recognize you before…I thought it was stupid, but it turns out that I was the idiot for not being able to recognize you sooner.”
“What are you talking about?” asked Soril.
Yet as he soon as he asked, the flames surrounding the goddess’s body died down, and her flesh was soon revealed to him.
And there…he then recognized her.
He could not think of it before, with how her crimson-red hair went all down to her knees and how her body had slightly matured in some areas, the only thing to remain was her personality and red eyes.
No longer did she looked as of before…it was as if she had aged for five years.
“…J-Jessabelle?” he asked, not sure if he was right.
And to his answer, she smiled softly.
“Yes…yes my beloved, it’s me.” and as she spoke, knowing that he finally recognized her, all sets of barriers were put away.
Nothing was going to stop her from reuniting with her beloved.
And with but a quick step forward, she leaped towards him with no regards for anything else.
She came and embraced him as if her heart has finally been placed in a mold that perfectly suits her own heart.
She came and clinged to him, with no intention of letting go.
“I’ve really missed you…I…I thought that you had died…but it shouldn’t be possible. Not you…you can’t just leave me that easily.” she said as a certain danger came from her tone.
[AN: YANDERE ALERT]
“W-what are you talking about?” asked Soril as he was a bit taken aback by all of this.
“I should have known…out of all the people I’ve meet in my other lives, no one else could ever do something like you do. After all, you are his son.” she said as if she already knew who Soril was.
“…” Soril couldn’t comprehend what was happening. And feeling confused, he tried to push her away from her hard embrace.
But she wouldn’t let go that easily.
“P-please, give me some space to think.” he asked kindly.
“…” but she remained quiet. Not letting go of whatever this was.
Seeing how she was acting, for some reason this reminded him of Jessica in the clingy factor.
“…” but boundaries had to be put between them. Because for all that Soril knows, Jessabelle was never this clingy to him. They were only ever friends…and right now, she was acting out of line.
So using a bit of strength, he forced himself out of her embrace.
*Thud*
“…Why…why did you push me away?” she asked as if her heart was struck directly.
“…Why are you like this? What’s going on?” he asked.
“…Oh…yes, I forgot that someone else has a hold of your heart.”
“What?” he was ever confused by her words.
“But that shouldn’t matter. I’ll take you back…no matter the cost.”
[AN: CLIFFHANGER, BITCHES!!!]
Also, this is the end of the second book.
I’m starting a new page called [Book 2.5] where Soril will continue on with ending the second volume of God’s written plan. And that will take place in the world of the Elves, and that story will take around only half the length of chapters I usually write.
For example, Book 1 and 2 takes around 70 chapters each for the completion, but for book 2.5, it’ll only be around for around 30-40 chapters.
I’m really sorry it took this long to write the end of Book 2, I’ve been really preoccupied with college stuff. But seeing as how I finally came to the end of book 2, I was wondering how you guys like it compared to Book 1.
Sure, unlike book 1, this has more action placed on it, but I’m more curious about the development. Did you guys enjoy reading Book 2 of [For I Am A Side Character]? I surely did.
And I’m sorry that for those reading my book, religion is really heavily implied. I really took innovation from it starting from second half of Book 1. Catholicism has been one of the things that’s been put in my life since I was young, yet it has only been around my 20’s that I fully appreciate God’s work. It’s hard to constantly be reminded of God’s work when so many things come and go in a person’s life…so writing this book really helps me keep in touch of God’s message in most things.
I’ll take every constructive criticism there is that you guys have, so please comment down below what you guys think of the over-all nature of my book? Do you have any questions? Just ask and I’ll answer every single one to the best of my abilities.
And one last thing, I know I’m leaving the book on a cliffhanger, but know that it’s hard to navigate a situation that really holds on to a relationship.
The Idea of a Harem isn’t really appealing to me. It’s hard to make it work knowing that both relationships can be made well, but there’s only so much reality in the world…a harem just isn’t really something I can make do with. But if I ever find a solution to this Harem issue, I’ll try to bring it to life in words.
So guys, I hope you continue following my work. I put every blood, sweat and tears into every chapter…and it’s hard, but…so is life.
Remember, you are never alone.
