For I Am A Side Character - 101: A Fallen Angel's Sword and Pleasure
I wasn’t ready for this…never did I imagine that I would fight an angel.
An Angel of all things to come here…why? How!?
Was this it?!
Was this the reason why a bunch of demon fanatics were able to get past through a vault that even the principal himself had troubles on!
Well fucking shit…I did not expect this at all…
To go pass the impossible, the bastards really brought something of a whole other level.
A fallen angel…
‘Shit…I don’t have time to think of this right now! For now, I need to survive…I need to protect the artifact that they’re after!’
“Tyen! Chrome! Whatever you do, protect the artifa-”
*THUD!!*
“!!?”
I had already brought out my sword…I was ready to clash against the enemy…
But before I could even use a speck of my skill, the angel had already interfered.
Before I could finish what I wanted to say, she appeared before me in a flash of light and she struck me in the chest with a force of magic so dense and so powerful, it sent me flying back all the way to the end of the vault…the last thing I saw in that moment was her smiling…
“!!!!????” the visions in my sights were warped as I was sent flying.
Flying across the vast expanse of the vault, it felt like I was thrown to its very end. I was sent that far with just her magic.
“..!?” and the next thing I new, I crashed to the other end of the vault’s wall. What I found next was my chest formed into a dent. A dent that dug down…thankfully, she struck me on my right peck of my chest and not my heart.
I knew then and there that despite her not breaking through my flesh, she was able to break the bones boundering the very dent she placed on my chest.
For a second there, I couldn’t breath well enough to save my life.
Instead, I quickly used the system point store and brought over five bottles of healing potion in the minute I had left.
Having to chug the potion as fast as I could, it quickly took effect. One potion was enough to heal me from her fist…I needed to save the others in case of an emergency.
As I healed, I had enough to think for myself…
She’s fast…incredibly fast…fast enough that it could even match brother Cecil’s top speed.
Knowing the possible level she was in, I was hesitant…almost afraid even, but I had no choice in this matter.
Despite the fact that she was a completely unknown enemy that was not mentioned in the book, I had to fight…I had to protect the artifact.
“…God, I hope you have an answer for this.” I said as I was completely enrage at that moment.
[Ethereal Will of the Dark.]
[Enlightened Domain of the Dark]
[Steps of the Emissary Ghost.]
All of those three skills were immediately activated, along with that, I released all of the seals on my power.
I don’t have to hold myself back in this case. If I did, it would be reckless knowing the unknown powers of my enemy. She was a Fallen Angel for Christ’s sake…she was an enemy I had not faced yet.
The moment I took my step forward, I dashed to a point that I pushed forward the limits of the [Steps of the Emissary Ghost.] and in that use of skill, I instantly arrived at the battlefield. In just a mere 1.5 seconds, I arrived back to the entrance of the vault.
And already, I can see that Tyen and Chrome were having a hard time against the enemy.
I was only gone for 15 seconds…and from the scene of the fight, Chrome was seen fighting the Angel on his own while Tyen handled the ten demon fanatics…
Both were having a hard time…but in Chrome’s case, his body was already cut to pieces by a sword that was held by the grey angel. Despite the fact that he was a guardian to this vault, in just a mere few seconds, he was put in such a state. It proves just how terrifying the enemy was.
“Chrome!” I screamed to him, showing that I was making my way to assist him.
The moment I landed, the angel had already faced my way. She flew to my direction as she saw me to be the bigger threat. She had pushed Chrome to the side with just her hand, immobilizing him the moment I came into the picture.
The moment she swung her sword, I swung mine. And the moment our weapons clashed, it caused a force of wind so powerful it cleared a vicinity of the vault’s shelves and artifacts to the distance.
*BOOM!*
“My, aren’t you quite the energetic type?” she said as she held quite the expression. Smiling from ear to ear, it seems as though she was enjoying herself.
“Khk!” I struggled…at this point, it seems as though we were both equal in strength. Even the floor we stood on were forming cracks from the force of our stance.
“Your power seems to have grown quite much. It doesn’t seem to even compare to what happened a few seconds ago. What did you do? Is it a skill? Or were you holding yourself back? Please tell me, I’m quite interested in what you have to say.”
She was quite the talkative angel…
But as she finished asking those question, I broke her curiosity by swinging my sword even harder. At that point, we were able to put a distance from one another for the moment.
“…Chrome, are you alright?” I shouted as I couldn’t see his condition well enough, seeing as how I was putting all my attention to the angel.
“I’m fine young Soril, although she was able to pierce through my body, my core I still intact.” he said, but the state he was in, parts of his body were already cracking as shown of his wooden material.
“…if you can still move, try and assist Tyen-lin, I don’t think she can handle the others on her own. Just leave this bitch to me!” I said. Even if he was wearing down as a guardian, I still needed him to assist Tyen.
“Very well, young Soril. Please be careful.” said Chrome as he hastedly went to assist Tyen who was handling ten demon fanatics by herself.
At that point, Chrome was able to make it to Tyen, leaving me to face the angel on my own.
“…” my eyes were all on her…and I could see it. Her eyes were filled with confidence…the confidence to easily overpower me if she wanted to. It was the same expression brother Cecil would make when we trained in the Dojo…
I gritted my teeth and tightened my grip on my sword. This was going to be a battle unlike any I had faced before.
Having to use the [Ethereal Will of the Dark], I was able to swallow my fear of facing against her. It showed that I wasn’t hesitant to clash against her, and her unknown state of powers that lies not shown yet.
[Heavy Rush!]
In the show of distance between us, I quickly shortened it in a matter of using a skillful force that could easily rip apart a home. And along this dash forward, I had my sword ready for an attack.
The moment I came in close with the heavy rush, I slashed downward with my sword.
[Heavy Slash!]
The force and distance of my swing was powerful enough that it could have done some sort of damage, but at the case when my sword met her’s, she simply parried it with an unfazed expression.
*Ting!*
The metals of our swords rang across the vault…but that wasn’t the end.
[Heavy Slash!]
Because I threw another one in.
And this time, I was able to move faster than the state of a light’s movement…
It felt precise…accurate to a point… and I aimed it at the arm that held her sword.
I couldn’t even breath when I swung the sword the second time…
And I felt it.
Through the sword’s edge, I felt it dig deep into her flesh…
And when it reached her bone…it stopped.
“!?”
My entire force of swing was stop the moment it touched her bones…
In that moment, it felt like she was an immovable mountain…
I could see and feel the cold gaze she gave me when she felt the sword’s edge on her arm…
In a slow state, I could see her move her arm to attack me…
And in her speed, I can see that she was as fast as I was on my second swing…
Faster than light…
I felt that I had to pull away and create some distance, but in that moment, it was a chance…
So instead of running away, I gritted my teeth even more and decided to push forward.
My sword was already buried in her flesh, I just had to push one more time.
[Mountain Splitter!!]
And like a force of unpredictable power, I was able to push against the immovable. The force of my swing would have easily been able to tear away an entire area of a forest at that moment, but directed it all in just her arm.
And to my strike, I was able to budge her over.
*THUD!*
She was pushed away by my sword to its end…pushing her back to a point where she crashed to five standing shelves.
*Boom!*
*Boom!*
*Boom!*
*Boom!*
*Boom!*
And in that moment, I was given space to breath and think again…
“.…”
“I’m impressed. Its been so long since I have felt the pain of having my arm crushed just like that.” she said as she walked closer to me from the wall she crashed in just a second ago.
And to my amazement, she was found unfazed by it.
Her smile was still attached and her arm was also healing…
In just a matter of seconds, she was completely recovered.
“…Who are you?” I asked as I tried to stay my place. Even with my strongest attack, it wasn’t enough. My skill wasn’t strong enough to cut pass her arm.
“I would like to ask the same question as well. Not once have I meet a mortal who can do this much damage to my holy body… it is simply amazing just how big this world is. And more importantly, you are soooo young~~” she said as she sounded lustful at the end of her words.
“…!” from that tone alone, I knew instantly that she was more dangerous now in a different matter.
“Hmm, I guess you don’t want to answer me then. Fine, I’ll get you to answer sooner or later.” she said as she winks at me with a rather calm demeanor.
And in her promise, the Angel tilted her head, her smile widening.
“…this will be fun.” she purred, her voice dripping with sadistic glee. She spread her wings, each feather shimmering with a malevolent light, and with a beat, she surged forward.
[Heavy Rush!]
I met her charge head-on, our swords clashing once more with a thunderous roar. The impact sent shockwaves through the vault, but I stood my ground, the dark body coursing through me gave me the strength to withstand her assault. But that wasn’t enough.
[Mana Reinforcement]
I had reinforce my body with mana. As it Surged through my limbs, enhancing my physical abilities further. I countered with a [Heavy Slash], aiming for her midsection, but she effortlessly parried, her movements fluid and precise.
“Impressive,” she said, her eyes gleaming with a mix of admiration and contempt.
“But not enough.”
With a swift motion, she thrust her hand forward, unleashing a torrent of blinding light. I barely managed to summon my shield in time, activating [Heavy Block Stance] to absorb the brunt of the attack. The force pushed me back, my feet digging trenches into the stone floor.
As the light dissipated, I saw my opportunity. With [Steps of the Emissary Ghost], I became a blur, my form flickering as I darted around her, aiming for her blind spots. I struck with a [Heavy Shield Counter], aiming to knock her off balance, but she anticipated the move, twisting gracefully out of the way.
“Nice try,” she taunted, her voice echoing in the vast chamber. She raised her hand, summoning a lance of pure light, and hurled it at me with deadly precision.
[Heavy Shield Counter]
I raised my shield and I deflected the lance with a sweep of my sword. But the effort left me open, and she capitalized on it, closing the distance in an instant. Her sword danced in a flurry of strikes, and I struggled to keep up, every parry and block felt heavy all to a point that it was reminding me more of my time training with brother Cecil. He never once pulled his punches…and moments like this, I couldn’t help but act in the same way as I would in training.
I persevered.
She was relentless, in just a swipe of her hand, she made it rain made of light and fury. I needed to create some distance, to find an opening. Summoning my strength, I activated a light use of the [Mountain Splitter], bringing my sword down with immense force. The ground beneath us cracked and shattered, the shockwave forcing her to leap back.
Gasping for breath, I took the brief respite to reassess. She was powerful, but I couldn’t afford to give in to despair. I had to out think her, to use my skills creatively.
“Not bad, not bad at all,” she said, landing lightly on her feet.
“But let’s see how you handle this.”
She raised her arms, and the air around her shimmered. Dozens of ethereal chains erupted from the ground, writhing and twisting as they lunged towards me. I dodged and weaved, using [Enlightened Domain of the Dark] to evade the grasping chains, but they were relentless, closing in from all sides.
[Heavy Block Stance] activated, casting a sphere of magic around me. The chains faltered, their ethereal glow dimming in the oppressive tough sphere. In this moment, I used the cover to my advantage, launching myself at the Angel with [Heavy Rush], my sword aimed at her heart. Bursting through every chain in the way, I was ready to attack yet again.
She met my charge with a laugh, her own aura flaring brightly to prove her holy being. Our swords clashed again, the force of the impact sending sparks flying. She was stronger, faster.
“Do you know why I’m called a Fallen Angel?” she asked, her voice a whisper in my ear as our blades locked.
“It’s because I’ve embraced the darkness within me. And now, I’ll show you its true power.”
Her eyes glowed with an unholy light, and a pulse of dark energy radiated from her, throwing me back. She followed up with a barrage of dark orbs, each one seething with destructive energy. And they rained like the light from the sun.
In the pinch of the moment, I had to act fast…
[Enlightened Domain of the Dark + Steps of the Emissary Ghost]
Having to mend together both skills all at once, my entire body became intangible, and in result, the orbs passed through me to a degree that it seemed like I was a ghost.
But in my attempts to dodge the attacks, The dark orbs fell to the floor and caused strong explosions that ripped every shelf and relic in its vicinity.

It was like a rain of nukes from the sky made from the angel. This attack alone could have eliminated an entire city, but thanks to the craftsmanship of the principal, and the strength of the cases protecting the artifacts, the only damage that was made was the shelves and the floors.
Seeing such a devastating attack, I retaliated with [Mana Spear], conjuring a spear of pure mana and hurling it at her. She dodged, but not fast enough to avoid the spear entirely. But even as it came to meet her body, it barely made her budge. Her stiff actions felt like a wall once again.
But after I threw that attack, I suddenly fell to my knees.
*Thud*
“!?”
I knew then that this must have been because of me fusing two skills together. Both the [Enlightened Domain of the Dark] and the [Steps of the Emissary Ghost] might be used on their own time, but fusing them together and using them in that moment for the first time really puts a toll on the body.
As I feigned weakness, she seized the moment, her sword slicing through the air with deadly precision. The blade found its mark, piercing deep into my shoulder. A jolt of pain shot through me, blinding and sharp, as if molten iron were coursing through my veins.
“AAGGGHH!!!” I screamed…the moment her sword was able to pierce through me, I screamed. It was a pain unlike any other…
Normally a sword wouldn’t be able to form such a reaction out of me in my current mentality, but her sword was different. For some reason, every inch of strength I had in that moment was lost. It was showing a form of aura that was more dangerous than any weapon I’ve seen before.
To think that her sword was able to pass through even the body of the dark, made me feel a pressure of doubt in that moment.
“Is this all you have?” she taunted, twisting her blade, eliciting a gasp of agony from me.
“Agh!!”
The world around me blurred, the vault soon started to spin as I fought to stay upright. Blood seeped from the wound, and I could feel my strength waning with each heartbeat.
I staggered back, trying to regain my footing, but her relentless assault didn’t give me a moment to breathe.
In that moment, she pulled her sword mercilessly and she unleashed a flurry of strikes. I tried raising my sword to defend myself, but with how strong she was and how weakened my body was, each blow sent shockwaves of pain radiating through my body. Every clash of steel was accompanied by a searing sensation, my muscles screaming in protest. Each cut was deeper than the last.
And in my despair, I could hear her laughter.
“Hahahahahah!!! Die!Die!Die!Die!Die!Die!Die!”
It was a haunting melody that echoed through the chamber. Her personality to be a sadistic angel was shown quite well in that moment.
“You’re putting up quite a fight, and yet it’s so… amusing to watch you struggle.” she said as she blushed in the flavor of my own agony and pain. it came to a point that as she was toying with my already bloodied body, she slowly reached down to her vagina and started enjoying herself in that moment.
“Haahh…yes, scream more in pain! More!!” her blushing nature showed just how perverted she as at that moment.
Desperation and sickness clawed at my insides. I had to protect the artifact. I couldn’t let her win. But with each passing moment, my strength ebbed away, the darkness creeping in around the edges of my vision.
As I summoned my remaining mana, I could feel the weight of the battle pressing down on me, threatening to crush me under its force. I activated [Mana Reinforcement] once more, but it felt like a flickering flame in a storm. The surge of power provided little comfort against the overwhelming reality of my situation.
With a final surge of will, I lunged forward, but the pain was a consuming fire, robbing me of speed and precision. My sword struck out, but her blade met mine effortlessly, pushing me back. The pressure was unbearable, her strength was far beyond anything I had faced.
“Hnn~~ This sure has been fun. If I was any other being that faced you today, they might not have survived to tell the tale…but unluckily, you faced off against me. And boy, was I soooo lucky~~” she sneered, her eyes glinting with a dark delight.
And in her gleeming outlook, She launched into another series of attacks, each strike a reminder of my own limitations
She has not yet had her fill…and to a point, I was starting to feel like I was about to die in this very moment…
It wasn’t enough…
My body wasn’t enough…
My stength…my skill…against an Angel…
It was not enough…
“Khk!!!!” in a flurry of attacks, I struggled to breathe…I struggled to keep my eyes open…
At this moment, I felt like I was going to die…
To see myself in such a state, I was reminded of the words that Jessica said to me before I left her alone…
{I just want to see you come back home safe, so please take care…}
“…” I was a fool…
I felt the next blow land squarely in my abdomen, the impact driving the breath from my lungs. I crumpled to the ground, pain exploding in waves, each pulse a reminder of my mortality. I gritted my teeth, refusing to give in, but my body was betraying me.
Lying there, gasping for air, I could sense her looming over me, the shadows of her wings casting an ominous silhouette.
“You’re not done yet, are you?” she purred, relishing in my suffering.
As I heard her question, I was starting to lose light in my vision…
I was dying…
“God…what the fuck did you got me into?” I said to myself as I laid on the floor like a newborn child…
“Hmph, you’re calling out to God right now? How amusing.” she said, and to a point, she kicked me in the head once again out of enjoyment.
It didn’t last long until suddenly, three of the ten demon fanatics arrived, carrying the beaten body of Tyen-lin and the broken state of Chrome.
There, I saw Tyen-Lin shaking in pain…and Chrome barely functional to even look to my direction.
Normally, on how I evaluated Chrome’s strength, I thought that he would have been able to manage the ten demon fanatics, but to my surprise he wasn’t able to handle them all of them. It must have been because Chrome was already beaten up on the moment I arrived, that when I asked him to help Tyen-lin, he wasn’t able to perform at a hundred percent.
Was this my fault?
As I asked myself this, I could see that Tyen-Lin looked to me in a rather grudging look.
‘Does she despise me as well?’ I asked myself this…
I can see it in her eyes. In this moment, I felt that if this was originally in the book, would she have been involved in this kind of mission?
Maybe I was the one who brought her here in such a state…
But God wanted me to intervene in the story…he wanted me to find the artifact…Why didn’t he told me about this Fucking Bitch…
Why God?
…If I wanted to, I would have stayed at home by now and watch a movie in comfort with Jess…but here I am, beaten and bleeding to my death…
Against an angel like her…all of my efforts to become strong seemed pointless.
“…I don’t wanna die.”
‘Hmm…Look at you, look at the sad state your in right now.’
A voice…I heard a voice…a familiar voice…
A voice of a warrior…
And that’s when I saw him…
It was a spartan-like figure that stood before me…
‘This is not the image of a true Aranean warrior!’ said the voice in my thoughts.
