For I Am A Side Character - 71: The End of Book 1
After about an hour of fighting, the Demon was left kneeling with one knee in front of the man in armor as he struggled to maintain his position. While the man was simply found with scrapes and dents on his armor, not much was seen of his struggle.
(This is bad…no matter what I do, I can’t get the upper-hand in a fight. How?! How is it that someone like him exist!? How is it that I feel fear in the eyes of that ‘thing’ inside of him? I thought that they were extinct…I thought my grandfather was able to kill them off…did one sneak into this domain?!)
Thought after thought, the demon was left shaking in fear.
Each hand he throws in a fight was thrown back, unable to fully reach the man in armor. Even with the use of magic, his ability to even try and confront him in all areas all left him in the same state.
As for the Soril, he showed no sense of fear whatsoever despite how much aura rained down on him. At this rate, this much concentrated fear should have crippled a simple man, but Soril was unfazed by the fear brought upon by the demon.
(At this rate I’ll die before I could bring upon the chaos of this world. I can’t let that happen!!)
As the Demon struggled to find a way to turn the tides, Soril simply watched as the demon felt overwhelmed by his presence.
“…” his silence spoke a thousand intentions.
But even as he watched the Demon in front of him, he also took his time watching over Jason’s current condition. Using the Enlightened Domain of the Dark, he was able to monitor Jason’s every move and condition.
As of now, Jason was found struggling against the dead body of Judas Everbell.
It was natural, after all, he was facing an S-ranked body with the command to try and kill Soril. Jason did everything he could to try and hold back the undead.
In time, as the fight would go on between him and the S-rank, Soril can already see that Jason would win. Because compared to a living conscious body, the undead state of a hunter was just as capable as that of the most inexperienced fighter. The only that made the fight last this long was because Jason was always being overwhelmed…but soon it will end and Jason will naturally come out on top.
[Hey, lets talk…c-can we ever find some kind of ground to stand on?…huh, I can give you anything you want, fame, fortune, power; the greatest power known to mankind…I can give that to you. Even all of your desires can be granted…]
“Really? Is that possible?” asked Soril as he listened to the demon’s plea.
-
- yes! Anything! I can give you anything!]
“If anything is on the table, does that mean you have the capacity for creation?…lets see, are you something of a God?” he asked.
-
- more than a God! Because unlike him, I actually listen! I can grant you whatever you desire and you don’t even have to pray for it! I’m here…and I’m listening.] said the Demon as a tinge of desperation was clear from his tone.
“Hmm, Does my desire apply to your death?” said Soril as he raised his sword.
[!?]
“I wish for your death.” with that said, he swung his sword down to the kneeling body of the demon.
[No!] but in his last efforts, the demon brought out every inch of power an strength he had left to block out the sword coming down to his neck.
“…?” Soril was surprised that the Demon was still capable of such a thing. But even so, that wasn’t enough.
[Khk!!] the Demon struggled as soon, the sword was slowly lowering down to his neck.
[I DON’T UNDERSTAND!! HOW IS IT THAT SOMEONE LIKE YOU EXIST IN THIS WORLD!!] the Demon shouted his curiosity towards Soril as the blade was reaching his skin.
“…”
[HOW!!??]
“…Don’t blame me for what’s happening right now. Its already pretty damn clear that you aren’t welcome in this world…you could have taken that as a warning to not come here so willy nilly. Said Soril.
[DAMN IT! THIS ISN’T OVER!! WE WILL COME BACK AND WE WILL BRING THIS ENTIRE WORLD INTO RUIN! THE DICE OF FATE HAS ALREADY BE SET! AND THERE’S NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO STOP IT…NOT EVEN YOUR CLAN!] said the Demon.
“…hahaha, I don’t know about that. God’s pretty critical about his orders, and as his Representative, I gotta do my job.” as Soril said this, he activated God’s Will and crafted the idea of Judgement for the Demon. Soon a bright light conjured itself around the Sword’s blade, creating a very terrifying aura for the Demon.
-
- WHAT IS THIS!?]
To see an unknown power be brought up, the Demon quickly turned pale as he felt ever so terrified, more than before. More so than the presence inside Soril body.
This light was excruciatingly bright and painful to the Demon. And its bright light soon devoured the very power surrounding the Demon’s hands.
[!?] he lost his power as this light was brought out and soon, the blade dug itself deep into his neck, but that wasn’t enough to finish him off.
[KUHK! WHAT IS THIS!? WHY DOES IT HURT SO MUCH!]
“Under the Order of God’s Will, I bring upon the judgement of his call…” Soril began his chant of judgement.
[WHAT!?]
And from Soril’s chant, the light brew brighter.
“And I hereby declare your existence to be Guilty.”
And in those words Soril ended the fight with one final attack.
[Heavy Slash!]
and from the swing of his sword, out rolls the head of the demon down on the floor.
And soon, its body started turning to ash.
The fight ended…
It was hard, but not as hard as he could have imagined.
‘Hmm, the General Lordship was much harder than this.’ he thought as he brought his sword back to his hilt.
And from the Demon’s Death, the undead body of Judas was also killed by Jason simultaneously.
And from it, everything was finally over.
“I-its over…its really over.” said Jason as he was starting to look relieved.
‘Hmm, he went toe to toe with an S-rank. Good, it seems that he’s become more stronger than the original plot, this is probably good.’ as Soril was relieved about Jason’s accomplishment, he soon made his way out of the abandoned factory.
But before he could leave, Jason confronted him.
“Wait! Wait up!” said Jason.
And seeing this, Soril was halted.
“Aren’t you going to meet up with Juel and Miles?” asked Jason.
“…No. This is over.” said Soril.
“What? But I thought you came here to save them.” said Jason.
“I did…but I also had to kill the demon.”
“So you lied to me, you didn’t care for the two of them, just the demon. If so, why involve me in this?” asked Jason.
“…”
Seeing that Soril did not speak, tells Jason everything he could know. That the person in front of him can’t be forced even if he asked. Someone of this strength must be more than he could handle, after all the person in armor was able to deal with a demon.
“Well…I guess it doesn’t matter. I don’t think you had any bad intentions if you aimed to kill the demon in the end. But I want to know…who are you?”
“…”
“…Okay, whatever. If you don’t want to tell me, then don’t…but I want to know, what does all of this mean? Are the Demons coming back? Will I meet you again?”
“…You’ll find out soon enough.” as Soril said this he walked further and walked out of the door.
From there, he left and Jason was on his own.
***
Out in the distance at the top of some random building, as Soril was slowly taking off his armor, certain guest came to visit him.
With wings as black as coal and ink, and hair ever so dark like the void, an angel of such beauty and paleness came landing beside him.
“It looks like tyou did a good job.” said the Angel.
“…It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be.” said Soril.
“Really?…Hmm, it probably has to do something with the House of Shadows, don’t you think?” she said.
“Maybe, but the fact that Gypsy lead me to the Angel’s Church dungeon helped a lot with the fight. I was more than prepared when facing the Demon because I grew a lot in that dungeon, so thank her for me.” said Soril.
“Hmm, I will. So what do you intend to do now?” asked the angel.
“The Usual…I’ll start reading the second book as intended by the system.”
“I do have some advice for you after you read the book. You’ll appreciate it.” said the Angel.
“…”
“Cut off your connections with those people who you call friends. They are nothing but a hindrance to the advancement of the story.” said the Angel in a cold tone.
But as she finished her sentence, she found that a blade’s edge was put against her neck. Coming from Soril’s hand, she saw dagger-like glares pointed at her.
“I intend to live my life in this world by my decisions…I suggest that you take to heart, miss Angel.” said Soril in a cold tone.
“Hmm, fine…but call me Adifer, God’s favorite daughter.” said the Angel who introduced herself in a rather wicked presence.
“…” but Soril was unfazed.
“…I hope you’re ready for what’s to come for the future of this world…after all, all of it hangs on your shoulders.” said the Adifer as she spreads her wings and flew in the air.
“…” Soril was left alone…and to it, he turned to the setting sun.
“Haaa…11 more books to go.”
[To be Continued.]
Hi, Shark-san here. Today marks the end of Book 1 of my story, [For I am A Side Character.] I really enjoy writing this story, so if you guys enjoyed it as well, I’m glad. Usually at this point in time, I would take a break, but who knows…maybe I’ll continue writing, maybe I’ll take a break. Maybe I’ll get addicted to Churros and move to Mexico with a mule who carries my luggage, maybe I’ll try to read a spicy book to upgrade my writing in Soril and Jessica’s love life…or maybe yet, I might just put Jessabelle into the mix of their relationship and make it very chaotic.
Who knows what’s going to happen, but I do know that I won’t end the story here…
It’ll continue…and as it should, I hope you guys understand that as an imperfect human with a very small ego towards his ambition, I’m just going with the flow.
If you have any questions that aren’t involved in the story, please ask. I’m not willling to answer, but I am willing to read that question. I want to get to know my readers and see what gets their minds curious about some things.
Maybe you guys wanna know about the birds and the bees…maybe you wanna know how to load a cannon branded camera into an actual cannon, or maybe you wanna know if whether or not a hotdog is actually a sandwhich, who knows…I’m also wondering how they do it, so if you’re just as curious, just ask…
I’m a creepy man with creepy thoughts…and I’m not asking for anything but your attention for many more of my stories
Anyway, for a final say, here’s a spoiler into the next volume of this book.
[Jessica moves into Soril’s house and they will live together.]
You can probably imagine a lot of ‘sexy times’ happening in that house, and you’re right. So expect for some thirsty moments on the next volume.
Bye and thanks again for reading it, you weirdos.
