- 54: Going for Groceries and Cooking for Dinner with an Added extra at the end.
After the hunt that day, the group decided to follow up the next assignment that they could do as a group. And that was to learn an elemental skill.
With that said, that night as they were being dropped off one by one at their homes, with Soril being the last one to be dropped off at his place, before they could reach his house, Jessica took this chance to spend time with him in public…
“Hey, do you think we can stop by the grocery store?” asked Jessica.
“Hmm? Why? Do you wanna buy something?” he asked.
“Yeah…I was thinking of cooking you something at your place.”
“Hmm cooking huh…I am running low on a few things…sure. Why not.” as Soril agreed, Jessica took this with a smile and they made their way to a super market.
As they arrived at one of the local super markets in his neighborhood, they got off and made their way in.
As they walked, Jessica took this chance to be clingy with Soril. By nervously walking close to him and making every attempt to hold his hand, Soril noticed her efforts and he took her hand in return. Doing so, she blushed hard and her arms started to sweat nervously…
“Geez…” she said to herself as she walked with a flushed smile.
“…Oh, lets get a push cart.” as Soril went and took a push cart from the side of a store, they first made their way to the meat aile.
“Hmm…it really is weird to find a few monster meats here in the store.” he said as he checked at the names on the package.
There was a pack of Everdeer meat, a pack of giant fishes by the pound and even a whole giant squid just sitting around like no one’s business. This kind of thing is never normal to Soril.
“…Hmm, maybe I’ll just get the usual.” as he said this, he picked out two packs of Everdeer meat from the freezer.
“By the way, I’m thinking of making us a stew at your place and this recipe is more creative than your usual stew so don’t be surprised to find the a surprise on your bowl.” as Jessica told Soril, she picked out an entire intact ribcage from the everdeer’s aisle.
*Thud!*
“O-oy…you’re really going to use all of that?” he asked.
“hehehe…of course. This is my first time making this kind of recipe so I want every material I need to be by the book.” as she said this, she pulled out an online recipe book unto her phone.
“Bones for bone-stock…check.” as she said this, she lead the cart forward and Soril couldn’t do anything but follow behind.
As they made it to the vegetable aisle, Jessica quickly made way to a specific spice corner that stored every spice available in the city.
“Hmm, Soril, Do you think you can handle something as spicey a Red Chillion Pepper?”
“A red Chillion Pepper?” when Soril asked this, Jessica simply showed him the sight of a gigantic red chili pepper the size of a 12 inch ruler.
“You’re going to put that in?!”
“Hmm? Yeah I guess so….it says right here in the recipe that I should put in all of it, to make sure that the stew isn’t bland and tasteless.” she said with a furrowed brow.
“W-well…I guess I can try something like that.”
“Great! Lets put it in.” as she put two pieces of Red Chillion Pepper on the cart, Soril couldn’t help but feel nervous for the spice that would come form this recipe.
The moved forward with picking the rest of the needed ingredients for the stew…and by the time that they finished, two carts filled with ingredients and groceries were packed.
It took them 30 minutes just to get everything packed by the cash register.
By then…they made their way back to Soril’s house.
“I’m really sorry about all of this…I’m just really excited for what I’m going to cook for you tonight.”
“I’m also excited…I think. Are you sure that you’re going to use all of these ingredients for a stew?”
“Hmm, yeah….every last bit.” she said confidently.
“Do you need any help with it?” he asked.
“Oh, no. I want to surprise you with my cooking, if anything…after a long day of hunting, I just want you to rest.” she said.
“…right. Its already around 7:00 pm though…do you think your parents are going to be worried about you? God knows I am.”
“Oh, its going to be fine. I already told them beforehand that I’m going to be spending the night with a f-friend…”
“W-what?!”
“Y-yeah, obviously I lied and told them I was going to be sleeping at a girl’s place. If they knew that I was sleeping at your place, they would be livid.”
“Jessica we didn’t plan this.”
“I know…but I just want to spend some time with you. Is that so wrong knowing that I’m your girlfriend?” she asked as she pouted her face.
Her cuteness pierced through Soril’s defense and without question, he could not deny her offer.
“…Hmm. F-fine…I guess you can stay the night.”
“Yay!”

As Soril and Jessica were dropped off by his house, they quickly made their way inside. Picking off every groceries there were, Soril quickly puts them down on the table and started sorting them out.
The last time Jessica was here was just yesterday.
The day when she confessed to him and asked him out. Its weird to think just how fast their relationship was going yet, and it points out to the fact that Jessica always initiates to further their relationship and Soril simply reciprocates it.
“Do you want me to sort out the meats from the veggies?” he asked as Jessica was now preparing herself to cook.
“Yeah, that would be helpful.” she said as she wore an apron around her waist.
“…”
Seeing this, he blushed as Jessica started fixing her hair properly.
After a while, when everything was in order, Jessica finally came into the kitchen and she looked just like any other housewife you would find. Beautiful and radiant, she was simply that appealing, it made Soril’s heart beat twice.
As Soril caught sight of Jessica stepping into the kitchen, adorned in a simple apron, his heart skipped a beat. The sight of her, with her hair pulled back into a loose bun and a gentle smile playing on her lips, filled him with warmth and affection.
In that moment, his mind raced with thoughts of how lucky he was to have her in his life. He admired the way she effortlessly radiated grace and charm, even in the most mundane of moments. The soft fabric of the apron hugged her curves, accentuating her beauty in a way that made his pulse quicken.
Soril couldn’t help but feel a surge of pride swell within him as he watched her move about the kitchen with such grace and confidence. Her movements were fluid and deliberate, a testament to her skill and dedication.
But beyond her outer beauty, it was the depth of her love and the kindness in her heart that truly captivated him. As he gazed at her, he found himself overwhelmed.
Lost in his thoughts, Soril couldn’t help but to want to wrap his arms around Jessica, pulling her close and pressing a tender kiss to her cheek. In that simple gesture, he hoped to convey just how much she meant to him, and how grateful he was to have her by his side. But he couldn’t. he controlled himself as she fixed herself in preparation for the kitchen.
“You look really great.” he said as he tries to compliment her.
“..!? W-well…This is nothing.” she said as she was quite taken surprise by his words.
In return, her heart also skipped a beat.
Both of their blushing faces were as clear as the night was…
“Come on now, go and take a bath you really smell from the hunt today. This will only take me about an hour and a half to cook…so it won’t be that long.” she said as she pulled out a knife and started cutting down the ingredients like a master chief.
Even with the kitchen knife, her skill was masterful. Cutting down bones and vegetables is just for her.
“All right.” as he said this, he made his way to his bath and soaked in the bath that time.

About an hour and a half later, the stew was done and it was set on the table.
As Soril and Jessica sat across from each other at the cozy kitchen table, the aroma of the hearty stew Jessica had prepared filling the air around them.
With the added flickering candlelight to cast a warm glow over the scene, enhancing the sense of intimacy between them. Jessica wanted to show off by pointing out that this was a dinner date.
“Whoa…the stew looks great!” he said as he got a good view of the special-made stew Jessica made.
“I made enough to feed seven people…that was how the recipe goes. By the next time I make it, I might just be able to adjust the ingredients enough just for us two.” she said.
“Mind if I try it?” he asked.
“Y-yeah…go on ahead.” Jessica was nervous about the taste that the Stew would give off…despite everything said about her, her anxiety about the opinion of the people who would try her food. Normally she would try over and over again until she would be satisfied enough to serve a recipe to her family and friends, yet today she decided to take a risk.
As Soril took his first spoonful of the steaming stew, a wave of comfort washed over him. The rich flavors danced on his tongue, a perfect blend of savory herbs and tender vegetables. He couldn’t help but marvel at Jessica’s culinary skills, each bite a testament to her love and care.
“its…its amazing.” he said as he looked ever blessed by the flavors of the stew.
Jessica watched with a smile as Soril savored the meal she had made for him. Seeing him enjoy her cooking brought her immense joy, a simple yet profound satisfaction that warmed her heart. She had poured her heart and soul into preparing the stew, hoping to nourish not just his body, but his spirit as well.
“T-thanks…” she blushed as her boyfriend showered her with pure compliments.
With that said, both of them started eating the stew together. And Between bites, they exchanged soft words and shared tender glances. Their connection deepening with each passing moment. There was a sense of contentment that enveloped them, a feeling of being exactly where they were meant to be—in each other’s company, sharing a meal made with love.
As they lingered over the last spoonfuls of stew, Soril spoke his mind.
“I really enjoyed our time together tonight…” as he said this, he reached out across the table to take Jessica’s hand in his own. Their fingers intertwined, a silent promise of love and devotion that transcended words.
“I did too…” said Jessica as she caressed his rugged fingers.
In that moment, as they sat together in the glow of the candlelight, Soril knew that he was truly blessed to have Jessica in his life. And as for Jessica, she couldn’t imagine a more perfect way to spend an evening than sharing a meal with the man she loved.
And for the second time, with a concise decision in that moment, they kissed each other on the lips.
As they finished eating, Jessica decided to bathe in the bathroom while Soril took care of the dishes.
As he cleaned the kitchen, Jessica called out to him from the bathroom.
“Hey Soril, do you think I can borrow one of your clothes to sleep tonight? I didn’t bring pajamas with me.” she said.
“Oh okay…I’ll bring it to you.” as Soril made his way to his room, he brought out a pair of his own clothes comfortable enough to sleep in.
It was just a simple pair of a black shirt and shorts.
As he handed them over to Jessica in the bathroom, he continued back on cleaning the kitchen.
As he finished, he sat down on the sofa and turned on the television.
“Hmm? What are you watching?” she asked as she just got out of the bath. With steamy wet hair, a flushed newly washed face and an erotic body where she just wore a loose shirt and shorts, she looked at Soril with a furrowed brow.
“I’m just looking to see if there’s anything to watch tonight.” he said.
“…Hmm, well its almost 10 PM…how about we just go and sleep?” she asked.
“Okay…” as Soril turned off his TV, he made his way to his room and he turned on the air conditioner.
“Hmm…okay, so how do we go on about this?” he asked.
“If its alright with you, we can sleep together in the bed.” she said.
“Together!?” and to his surprise, Jessica suggested something yet again that was somewhat over the top for their first dinner date.
“…I mean, we already kissed…and…you know…I wanna cuddle with you.” as she said this, her blushing face was as red as that of a red moon.
And in return….Soril couldn’t help but blush as well…
‘my gooooddd!’ he screamed in his head as she suggeste it.
“O-okay…if that’s what you want.” Soril agreed…and as he did, Jessica slowly reached for the light switch and without a few conscious thoughts about this, she decided to turn it off…
As the lights went out, silence overgrew the room…and to it, Jessica could feel her heart beating twice as fast while Soril did as well…
As Soril got in to his bed first, he made sure that he made enough space just for her.
And soon enough, Jessica followed him into his bed and they both covered themselves under one blanket.
As Soril and Jessica settled into bed together for the first time, there was an air of nervous excitement between them. They had shared many intimate moments before, but this felt different—more significant somehow.
As they nestled under the covers, their bodies instinctively gravitated towards each other, seeking warmth and comfort in the embrace of their bodies. Soril wrapped his arms around Jessica, pulling her close as she snuggled into the curve of his chest. In his thoughts, this might have been the most boyfriend-like thing he could do, and Jessica acted back by resting on his arm.
Their heartbeats synchronized in a gentle rhythm, echoing the deep connection they shared. With this much contact, Jessica was slowly starting to feel heated up…her breaths were starting to get heavy and soon enough, she reached out to touch him on his chest. Resting her face on his chest.
The feeling of his heartbeat syncing into hers made her feel comfy and settled. And soon enough, Soril did the same by embracing Jessica under the covers. He could feel her warm back as her soft skin seemed to engross Soril to caress them .
And without question, Soril pressed a soft kiss to Jessica’s forehead, his lips lingering there for a moment as he breathed in the sweet scent of her hair.
“Are you comfortable?” Soril whispered, his voice barely audible in the quiet of the room.
Jessica nodded, a contented smile gracing her lips.
And as she pulled for a bit from his chest and soon enough she said some words.
“…I am.” and in return from his kiss to her forehead, she pecked him on the lips.
As she did something that caused his heart to beat in notice, He brushed his fingers lightly across her cheek, savoring the softness of her skin beneath his touch.
“Do you think we’re rushing things?” he asked.
And as he did, Jessica simply looked at him straight into his eyes and she spoke.
“I don’t know…but I love where this is going.” soon enough they kissed…
And in that kiss, a lusty passion was slowly brewing under the sheets.
The kiss lasted…their lips met in a fevered kiss, hungry and urgent, their tongues tangled in a primal exploration.
The kiss lasted…
Like fireworks, it was both filled with beauty and passion…and like a fireworks, it soon ended.
Because soon, Jessica pulled away from that kiss, and she rested her head on his chest.
She cuddled to him like she was but a helpless animal.
They lay together in silence for a while, reveling in the simple pleasure of each other’s presence. The world outside faded away as they lost themselves in the intimacy of the moment, their bodies entwined like two halves of a whole.
And as sleep finally began to claim them, Soril and Jessica drifted off into dreams filled with whispered promises.
