“Father!! Is it true that you’ve invited the most worthless race into this sacred place?!”

A burly elf man shouted from the doorway.

“Faraus, calm down. You’re in front of our guests.”

Veiron called the burly elf man ‘Faraus’. Since Faraus called Veiron father, he must be a royalty, like Lycoris. But, his personality seemed to be on the opposite spectrum of Lycoris. Considering Veiron said that Lycoris was not very elven-like, that meant Faraus’ reaction was more typical of an elf.

“Humans are…. Absolutely repulsive compared to us!”

Although I hated to admit it, but Faraus had a clean, handsome face despite his burly body. Someone like him was the most dangerous. Imagine a tennis club guy who could devour every girl at freshman welcome parties with his athletic charm. That was how dangerous Faraus was. Faraus boasted and laughed scornfully, clearly looking down on us.

“Faraus, we have a political relationship with the human nations. What if this incident escalates and leads to war?”

“Then we just need to destroy everything that stands in our way, be that be humans or other nations.”

“Faraus!!”

Veiron raised his voice in anger. I see. So this was what most elves like. Utterly arrogant.

“Sorry, but if that’s how you’re going to act then I won’t hold back. At first, I thought I just had to take down the Demon Lord Worshiper in the Elf Kingdom so the elves could live in peace, but… If you’re going to insult Luna… I can’t possibly just stand still and let you be.”

“Is that so? If you’re that angry then what are you going to do about it? I’m up for anything.”

“Then how about if we settle this matter with a duel to avoid any lingering resentment?”

“Fine by me. If… If by some miracle you manage to win, I will apologize and acknowledge your strength.”

“Very well. You better start thinking about what to say when you apologize.”

I said and Faraus grinned.

“Worry not. I will only use physical enhancement. Don’t die on me, okay? I’m already holding back.”

“What a coincidence. I will also only use physical enhancement to avoid damaging this beautiful building.”

Both Faraus and I cast physical enhancement spells at the same time. Seeing this, Veiron sighed. 

“Haaa… If both parties agree then… There’s nothing I can do. Just make sure there’s no more bad blood afterwards, regardless of who loses. Now… Divine Protection of the Green God.”

Veiron activated Divine Protection of the Green God.

I said and Faraus smirked. 

“You know what? I will give you a handicap. You can take the first hit.”

“Alright. I will take you up on that offer then.”

This guy was really looking down on me. Well, I would make sure he regretted it. Without any additional warning, I threw my left fist into his right ribs.

“Wha-….?! UGH-!!”

Using the momentum from my powerful jump kick, combined with the rotational movement of my legs, waist and shoulders, I punched Faraus’ internal organs with my fist. My fist was already enhanced by the physical enhancement magic and Faraus was sent flying straight into the wall. His burly body collided with the hard surface and he groaned in pain.

“Arghh-!!”

Faraus writhed on the ground. Thanks to the Divine Protection of the Green God, he wouldn’t die but the blessing couldn’t alleviate the excruciating pain that made him wish he were dead instead. 

“It hurts… IT HURTS!! You bastard!! Don’t mess with me!!”

“No, but… You were the one that told me to take the first hit, didn’t you?”

“I WILL KILL YOU!! I WILL KILL YOU HERE FOR SURE!!”

Faraus yelled, spatting curses at me. Veiron, who had been watching the scene unfolding, slowly stood up and gave Faraus a cold, piercing look. 

“It seems I’ve been too lenient with you just because you’re my son…”

“Father? What are you talking about…?”

“Silence. Faraus, do you understand what you’ve done? Your arrogance might as well cause an international dispute.”

“The one that instigated this issue was Faraus. He looked down on the humans and ridiculed them. Despite his big talk, he ended up losing to Ike, the son of a duke. Just for your information, the other woman here is Alisa. She’s the saintess of the Holy God Church, the religion revered by humans.”

“I didn’t lose…!”

No, you did. I wanted to say but I refrained myself from doing so. I really couldn’t care less that he insulted me or Alisa. I only cared about Luna. He dared to insult Luna. No amount of suffering would be enough to pay for that sin.

“No one can take responsibility for that, not even me, the king, let alone someone like you. Therefore… You need to reflect on what you’ve done. Until you understand your mistake, I am stripping you of your title as prince. You shall live as just Faraus Rosegarden for a while, not as the prince of the Elf Kingdom.”

“Father?! Why?!”

“Take him to the dungeon.”

“Father!! Father!!!”

Still shouting relentlessly, Faraus was carried away by the elf knights. 

“I knew it. The Elf Kingdom is…”

I could hear him muttering under his breath. It seemed he had been harboring resentment in his heart for some time, even before I arrived here. 

“My apologies, Ike-kun. I know my son’s discourtesy is unforgivable, but could you find it in your heart to let this incident go? I apologize on my son’s behalf.”

Veiron offered me a sincere apology. Well, it wasn’t Veiron’s fault though.

“Just this one time… I will let it slide just this one time. What about you, Luna? Will you forgive him?”

“Of course. If that’s what Ike-sama’s wishes, then I will follow along.♡”

“Thank you. I owe you both.”

Veiron sighed, seemingly relieved upon hearing Luna’s response. The problem was settled. We both agreed to put it behind us and focus on another more pressing matter. 

“Pa-Pardon the intrusion! I-I heard that Faraus-sama is coming here to mock the humans… Ah. I was too late, huh?”

The elf knight, Eve, who was out of breath, looked up to the sky in resignation.
