Chapter 48: The Rightful World SIDE Marwin

“Darn it! That Alisa… How dare she act all cocky?! Even though she’s only a woman!!!”

I, Marwin Radiance, was absolutely furious.

“Just because she holds the title of a saintess… She thinks she can look down on me?! Unforgivable! She irritates me so much!!”

Because of her, I was exiled from the church simply because I was trying to tell everyone that Lune Olhein was the incarnation of the Demon Lord. I was acting for the sake of God, no, for the sake of the world! And yet, despite my noble intentions, I was treated so disgracefully like that…! The man speaking to me had a mocking grin on his face despite his encouraging words. His name was Lycaon, the leader of the Demon Lord Worshipper’s branch in the Elf Kingdom. Just as Lycaon had his own goal to fulfill, I also had mine. Although our goal was different in nature, but I decided to cooperate with him as long as I could kidnap and kill Luna Olehin in the end.

Well, I had to provide the Demon Lord Worshiper with children from the monastery in secret for this. It seemed they were using the children as sacrifices for whatever rituals they had to bring the Demon Lord back. But well, the Demon Lord Worshiper did provide me with adequate remuneration in return, be that in money and in other carnal desire form… I would become the closest person to God in the future though. Offering worthless children from the monastery was a cheap price to pay. 

My ultimate goal was to kill Luna Olhein, someone who would become the Demon Lord in the future. It was only a matter of time before she fully manifested into the Demon Lord. By killing her, I would gain tremendous power. I would become the strongest being in this world, second only to God, surpassing even that detestable Saintess. 

At least, that was how it was supposed to be, but…

“But still, I’m surprised. I never thought you’d side with the Demon Lord Worshiper…”

“I actually believed in the holy oracle that said the Holy God will mix both holy and demonic power together and rule over everything, but… God has forsaken me now.”

Lycaon replied with a frown on his face. Three young people interrupted our conversation, two men and one woman. Youngsters these days truly had no respect for their elders, just like Alisa Vanded. Darn it. Everything infuriated me so much!

“Hanbulg?!”

Hanbulg was the name of the family who had close connection with the Saintess. The family who had taken the side of Luna Olhein! If it weren’t for them, I would have become someone with a higher position at the church!

Hanbulg’s companion asked Lycaon.

“Well for start, elves women are beautiful. Once the Elf Kingdom falls into chaos, we can brainwash a few of them and let you guys have your way with them as much as you want. In the worst case, if you don’t find them to your liking, we can still sell them as slaves. Elves will fetch a good price in the market.”

“Kuhahahaha!! That’s what I want to hear! A hero always have a harem after all!”

I already felt this boy was familiar, but it turned out he was the Hero. I was wondering why the Hero was at the secret hideout of the Demon Lord Worshiper, but seeing how furious this Hanbulg brat was when I mentioned the name Ike Hanbulg, I guess they also had a grudge against Ike Hanbulg.

Lycaon laughed maniacally.

“Alright, let’s start by burning down that Yggdrasil tree! We shall return the world to its righteous state!”

I couldn’t stop myself from being captivated by Lycaon’s wicked smile.
