Chapter 44: Pre-opening

“Ike… You’ve grown bigger.”

I was in my office. A month had passed since the disturbance caused by the Demon Lord Worshipper. We managed to recruit more employees from the residents of Sulfur and now that they had finished their training period, we were able to hold a pre-opening session for the inn. Hence why I invited my big sister, Marsha-nee to Sulfur. 

Of course, I paid the employee a higher wage than usual during their training period. That was why we were able to finish everything three months earlier than planned.

Kukukuku… I will wring everyone dry! You will rake in more profit than the salary I paid!

Meanwhile, Alisa (our loyal customer) had been staying at the inn even before the pre-opening. She said she had some business with the church of Sulfur. Not that I cared about her business though. I only cared about inviting Marsha-nee because I couldn’t even dare to imagine what Marsha-nee would say to me if I didn’t invite her for the pre-opening.

And today, Marsha-nee finally arrived in Sulfur. 

“Marsha-nee… Is it because I’ve gotten fat again?”

I never missed my training. I had incorporated the workout routines I used to do in my previous life even. I could even see a tell-tale sign of abs, but Marsha-nee said I was bigger now…?

“That’s not what I meant. You know, you used to be my slightly reckless but adorable little brother. But now… By the time I realized it, you’ve defeated a high-ranking member of the Demon Lord Worshiper and you just keep achieving all those amazing feats… I was just thinking how impressive it was that you were able to do all that.”

Thank goodness. It wasn’t because I had gotten fat. It would be terrible if I regained my old weight and plump physique. If Luna were to break up with me because I had gotten fat… Yeah, pretty sure I would be so shocked until I needed to be bedridden.

“Besides… Sulfur is a substance that alchemists who dwell in magic are fond of, right? For you to use that much sulfur for a hot spring… Any average alchemist would faint at the sight of the hot spring. Won’t you get in trouble for letting the sulfur be for hot springs? Or maybe you were planning to mine the sulfur from the start?”

I knew the Kardi region was filled with rich minerals since it was a volcanic area, but I didn’t know sulfur was that valuable. I only wanted to enjoy the hot spring together with Luna. Although I had the knowledge of the game, but everything just happened to turn out this way because I kept doing everything with Luna in mind. 

“That’s not something you can get just by coincidence. Well, it’s good to know you’re safe. But you know, those guys from the Demon Lord Worshipper… They’re dangerous. You better be careful. I’m worried about you, you know?”

“So-Sorry. I will be more careful, Marsha-nee.”

“Promise me, okay? You better be extra careful now.”

I really couldn’t go against Marsha-nee. Maybe this was part of my natural instinct as Ike? But… The original Ike was supposed to be a filthy womanizer. It was weird to know someone like Ike couldn’t go against Marsha-nee. Well, not that I knew everything about Ike and Marsha-nee. There wasn’t much information regarding Ike’s family after all. Good thing Marsha-nee wasn’t a bad person. 

“Which reminds me… Marsha-nee, aren’t you going to try the hot spring? The hot spring is the pride of this town, you know. I would like for you to try it…”

“Hmm, not now. I will take a long soak later. For now, I want to hear more about the things my little brother has done.”

Marsha-nee said. 

“I see…”

If that was what Marsha-nee wanted, then there was nothing I could do about it. I could ask her for her opinions about the hot spring after she tried it after. I definitely wanted to hear the opinion from a first-time user like Marsha-nee. Hearing the customer’s feedback was crucial so I could make improvements for the inn if we had the funds for it.

“Pardon the intrusion… Oh, Marsha-oneesama. It’s been a while.”

“Luna-chan!! What brings you here?! Are you here to see Ike?! Kyaaa!! You’re so cute today, just like always! Come here! Give me a hug!! Ahhh! That’s right! The hot spring! Do you want to get into the hot spring together with me?!”

“Kyaa-?! Marsha-oneesama?!”

Marsha-nee pulled Luna into a tight hug and buried Luna between her voluptuous chest. 

“Marsha-oneesama?! You just said you weren’t going to take a bath now!! Why did you change your mind as soon as you saw Luna?!”

“Oh~ Come on now~ It’s fine, isn’t it?~”

Darn it…! I wasn’t jealous, okay! I wasn’t complaining because I was jealous Marsha-nee was hugging Luna so tight like that!!

“Stop looking all jealous like that! You’re always together with her anyway! Let me borrow Luna-chan for a little bit!”

Marsha-nee puffed her cheeks as she retorted back to me. Alright… I admitted. I was very jealous. 

“Marsha-oneesama… That’s right. Only if Ike-sama is fine with it…”

Luna glanced at me, looking slightly troubled. Well, I got to see Luna’s troubled face thanks to Marsha-nee. I shall consider this as a win. 

“Ike-sama…?”

“Sorry Marsha-nee, it seems Luna wants to stay with me. Well, of course. We’re husband and wife after all―”

“The Saintess is being deceived!! That woman, Luna Olhein… She’s a monster destined to become the Demon Lord! Let us bring the hammer of justice upon her!!”

Suddenly, a man shouted at the entrance of our mansion. 

I didn’t know who that man was, but it seemed he really wanted to make me angry, huh???
