Chapter 27: I Knew It. I’m So Happy I’ve Become Ike’s Wife SIDE Luna

“Not yet! I can still go on…!!”

I, Luna Olhein, was practicing magic on my own at the training grounds. Two months had passed since my last name changed to Hanbulg. 

Since I started living with Ike-sama, the way people looked at me had changed drastically. Now that Ike-sama had been appointed as a White Saint by the church, I had received the same divine protection as his wife. Unlike before, no one dared to mock me as a cursed girl anymore. 

Thinking about it… Maybe I should refer to myself as ‘former’ Luna Olhein. The name Olhein held no value to me anymore. Of course, it was all thanks to Ike-sama that I could change my way of thinking.

Even before our engagement, I already loved Ike-sama. However, Ike-sama was able to pull me deeper into the abyss of love, drowning me in affections for him. 

This feeling of love was so overwhelming. I couldn’t stop this feeling. Hence why, I had to work harder so I could keep standing next to him. And yet..

I moved my hands again, which had stopped moving for a moment, to cast another magic spell. 

Even though Ika-sama was far more talented than me, but he always practiced diligently without showing any sign of arrogance. To catch up to his level, I needed to put in much more effort than Ike-sama. Besides, I also had to fulfill my role as his wife. I needed to make sure I wouldn’t bring shame to Ike-sama. 

Being by Ike-sama’s side was the epitome of happiness to me. 

“Huh? Luna?”

“Ike-sama… Are you going to practice today as well?”

The person that called out to me was my husband, Ike-sama. Since our marriage had been recognized, Ike-sama had changed quite a bit in terms of physical appearance. He used to have a rounder physique, but now he had become slimmer. Because of the weight he had shed, his handsome features also became much more prominent. 

To be honest… I couldn’t stop myself from worrying that Ike-sama might leave me one day. If he became even more handsome than he already was, other women might start getting their filthy hands on him. 

“Yeah, I am… But you’re also in the middle of a practice too, right? Luna, you’re so hard working.”

“No, I’m still lacking in many things. I’m not good at magic yet…”

I accidentally let my weak point slip out. For some reason, I couldn’t stop self-deprecating when I was with Ike-sama. I was well aware I was still weak. This realization also ended up making me feel down. I knew this kind of feeling was not good, but the impatience wouldn’t stop gnawing at my heart either. I wanted to become stronger soon.

“…Luna, if you don’t mind… Can I watch over your practice today?”

“Huh? Ike-sama will? Are you sure?”

Ike-sama chuckled a bit awkwardly.

It was a bit embarrassing to be acting in this way, but I couldn’t help it. I was completely smitten with Ike-sama and Ike-sama always responded joyfully to my saccharine sweet voice. Our exchange was simply too addictive. 

No, I needed to stop thinking about unnecessary things for now. Ike-sama had taken the time out of his precious practice time to watch over my practice instead. 

“Here I go.”

I wanted Ike-sama to acknowledge me, so I cast a fire attribute spell toward the target practice with all of my might. However… My spell didn’t have as much power as I expected. 

“My apologies, Ike-sama. I still have a long way to go…”

My attack only scorched the target practice. Sure, my fatigue might had played a part since I had been practicing for a long time. However, I usually could destroy the target. I felt so embarrassed that I ended up showing Ike-sama this uncouth magic spell. 

“No, I think that was good enough.”

Ike-sama said kindly. He was always kind to me, so much so that I wanted to depend on his kindness. However… I mustn’t. 

“It’s just… Right. How about this? This method is limited to fire magic, but how about if you try stockpiling the spell in advance and then you cast it in rapid succession?”

“Stockpiling magic spell…?”

“Yeah, basically you just prepare the spell in advance. It will make things easier, right? Then you release all the stored magic at the same time.”

“…I will give it a try.”

Not many magicians stockpiled magic spells. Most believe that instead of stockpiling, it would be better to pour all your magic power into the spell you were about to cast. However, there must be a reason why Ike-sama gave me that advice. Surely, this advice could lead to results beyond my imagination. 

“Oh, before that… Drink this first.”

“Ike-sama gave me a small red vial.

I asked Ike-sama. After all, EX-mana potion wasn’t something one could easily buy. Would it be alright for someone like me to drink this precious potion? However, when I expressed my concern, Ike-sama said..

So he said with a refreshing smile on his face. 

“Anyway, as long as you can keep a positive mindset, I’m sure everything will go well.”

I drank the EX-mana potion Ike-sama had given to me. Almost immediately, I could feel a surge of magic energy flowing through my entire body. My magic power was fully restored.

Just as Ike-sama’s suggestion, I summoned fire attribute magic circles and stockpiled the magic in both arms. Then, I released the spells at the same time. Two magics merged together, forming a massive fireball.

I had never seen such astonishing results. Moreover, the amount of magic power I had to use was surprisingly low compared to the scale of the fireball I summoned.

“When you combine fire with fire, it can create a bigger flame. This phenomenon holds true even outside magic applications.”

I wondered where Ike-sama acquired this kind of knowledge.

Ike-sama smiled proudly, showing a youthful yet cheeky expression. This expression of his made me feel he was kind of cute. 

And just like that, all the doubts plaguing my mind faded away.

After all, my husband, Ike-sama, was so incredible. I was so happy I got to be his wife.
