Falling in love with my stalker - Chapter 5- The meeting
Nakura-san was just another salaryman I knew from the store, who was actually a nice person. He basically comes to the store every day and asks me to choose some snacks that could go perfectly with his beer.
Although I have tried beer once or maybe twice before, I knew what could taste the best with the beverage. As such, it was fine having customers like Nakura-san.
However, I never thought that this always-tired-looking salaryman would have a BMW for himself and the person driving would not be him but a driver.
As for me, then I currently was seated in the back seat with my arms and legs tied with a rope.
“You know, it wasn’t necessary to tie me up, right Nakura-san?” I think he must have perceived my personality to discern how I would never try to do anything rash after witnessing that six-funnel revolver in Nakura-san’s possession.
“Precaution, kid. I have seen the most docile creature trying to jump off the car at this point.” Nakura-san spoke as he lit his cigar.
Well, that was new.
“So you aren’t actually a salaryman? Then why did you look so tired all the time?”
I could already tell that this person had been keeping an eye on me for the past three months. And aligning with the time since Takeuchi-san began stalking me, I guess Nakura-san’s employer was Takeuchi Gonzo—Takeuchi-san’s father.
“Not only nine to five jobs are taxing, boy. Well, who can know better than you, how having multiple jobs feels like.”
I raised my brows at that.
‘Multiple jobs…?’ It wasn’t that I have never worked at different places but the fact that I used to do several jobs almost a year ago, made me surprised.
After all, if Nakura-san has been keeping an eye on me since the time Takeuchi-san began stalking me, then he should only know about the convenience store clerk job, no? Then how come…
*Dhak*
To break my reverie, suddenly the door on my side was pulled open from outside.
I looked toward my right and found Nakura-san was still sitting there.
Feeling my gaze, he glanced at me before relaying some words of advice, “Speak only when asked.”
And with that, he dropped me off and drove away.
I stood facing a typical old-style Japanese Minka with the stone pavement that led to the inside and several ponds at the sides of the paths. I dearly wanted to see the fish in them, but of course, I didn’t ask the guard who was taking me inside.
By the way, my hands, neck, and ankles were tied with the rope in a way where if I tried to run or tear my shackles, I would end up choking myself. I was being led inside with slow steps…for which I was extremely thankful.
Another guard wearing a black suit, like the one who brought me to this point, was standing outside the front gate of the house.
Seeing my face for once, he nodded before I was directed inside.
There was very thin lighting inside, however, I could tell just by a glance, that the decoration and antics were priceless. The atmosphere inside was slightly gloomy but the smell of lavender incense did the work of helping me retain my composure.
*Knock* *Knock*
Just on the first door on the left side of the lobby, the man knocked twice before a grumpy voice responded from the other side.
“Send him.”
The doorknob was twisted before I was pushed inside.
Barely holding myself from falling flat on the ground, I walked forward; toward the only source of light.
The whole room was huge, however, the number of furniture in here was only three. A sofa set, a table chair, and a cupboard full of documents.
My gaze drew toward the burly man sitting on the chair with his back facing me. I had never seen or met a Yakuza member before and now, the most prominent syndicate’s boss was right in front of my eyes.
Not only the Takeuchi clan was well settled in the underworld and real estate business, but their reach was up to the government as well. It might be a rumor but it seems, that for any political party to become a ruling party, it needs to keep a good relationship with the clan.
“You know why you are summoned here?” His heavy voice went perfectly with his stature. It sent a chill down my spine.
Nevertheless, I didn’t let the man wait and responded, “Because, I began dating Takeuchi-san.”
There was no point in beating around the bush in front of a man who holds such a great name and authority in the nation. I am aware that even if he kills me, no one would dare raise any voice nor was there anyone in this world who would care about me.
Surely, Takeuchi-san would cry for me…well, I don’t want to think about it.
It saddened me somehow…
“No one can make my little Rumi cry.” Hearing the man’s slightly hoarse tone, I wondered if I had said that aloud.
Regardless, it seemed something triggered the man as he suddenly pushed away his chair and turned around after standing up—to face me.
The man had raven hair that was tied in a rough bun. His face was broad just like his body and several scars across his face. He was wearing a traditional yukata with a shawl over his shoulders.
His aura was domineering and his presence made my subconscious scream for me to run away, as far as I could.
“I have been watching you for some time now. If not for your well-mannered disposition, I would have never allowed my daughter to see you. Worse, I might have just deported you to a faraway land.”
I felt a little embarrassed at that, before responding, “Thank you for the compliment. And also, thank you for not sending me away. I like being here.”
I didn’t know whether it was because of what I said or if he didn’t like my tone, the man went silent for a bit with an expression that said, ‘What is this boy talking about?’.
Regardless, I didn’t say anything any further and allowed him to continue,
“Once when Rumi was in middle school a boy was trying to flirt with her…and by chance, my little brother Kazama saw it. Can you guess what happened to the boy?”
“Is he dead now?” I asked with my brows raised and anticipation building.
For some reason, the man seemed lost for words. He remained entirely silent with his lips apart, before an answer finally arrived,
“He was…made to change the city and his head was clean-shaved.”
“Ooo…must be difficult for him.” I shared my sympathy.
Hearing my words, the older one coughed in his fist before he continued, while walking to and fro horizontally in front of me,
“The fact of the matter is, I want a strong and competent person to stay by my Rumi side. Someone who can save her if some situation arises and someone with the guts to fight a whole gang on his own.”
Halting in his steps, he turned to look at me before declaring, “And you…you don’t look like you can even handle a single person of the same age as you.”
“If it’s for Takeuchi-san then surely I can, Takeuchi Gonzo-san.” Without hesitation, I replied—though my smile was a little glacial there.
After all, just the thought of seeing someone trying to flirt with Takeuchi-san seemed a little annoying to me. That was why I was hoping that the middle school guy would be dead already.
But well…
The older one remained silent a bit before he pressed a button at the corner of his table.
Suddenly three men entered the room. Two were bodyguards and one was a delinquent-looking boy wearing a school uniform which didn’t belong to the one I go.
The two guards freed me from my restraint, and before the man or anyone could say anything, I gathered all the annoyance from my stupid imagination, and after snatching the chair from behind Gonzo-san, I smashed it over the blond delinquent’s head.
*DHAKKK*
“Kha!!!” The boy instantly fell to the ground upon feeling the impact.
The chair was broken because of brute force, but I still somehow made it stand on the floor and turned to look at the older one with a bright smile, before I said,
“What would be my next test?”
