Falling in love with my stalker - Chapter 23- Her introduction
Rain drizzles down from the sky, spreading a cooling sensation amidst the scorching heat of July. The weather represented peace for some and gloom for some. However, the one who was running across the streets with a panicked visage was engulfed in pure emotional chaos.
Takeuchi Rumi could face any danger or situation that could bring a burden on herself however something that affects the person she loved was strictly forbidden.
Her Shou-kun has faced numerous hardships in his life. He has gone through depression and trauma without a single person by his side who could have patted his back and told him, ‘Everything would be fine.’
When she was getting showered with the affection of her brothers, Shou was struggling to properly talk to someone. When she was enjoying a luxurious lifestyle, he was finding it difficult to afford his necessities. When her parents forbade her from taking an extra toll on her body, he was getting crushed under loads of work so he could afford to live alone.
He has seen those days that could have easily broken a man regardless of age. Yet, whenever someone meets Shou or extends a hand of friendliness toward him, he responds to them with a kind happy smile.
However, what goes in his head, no one knows nor anyone has ever tried discerning what is actually happening in his life.
Rumi took that job onto herself. She wanted to make herself an integral part of his life so Shou could share his grief with her and in return, she could provide him the warmth that Shou was devoid of.
‘…I failed him…I failed Shou-kun….’ The realization of the fact that in times of stress and loneliness, he went to the graveyard rather than coming to her, was weighing on her heart.
She thought that since Shou was responding to her feelings quite actively, he must have begun to like her as well…he must have started relying on her as well…
However, she was wrong. She was delusional!
*SCREECH*
Suddenly, a car halted just in front of Rumi and a familiar face exited the vehicle.
“Step aside.” Rumi was beyond agitated at the moment to hear the crap from her maid regarding why it was necessary for Rumi to be cautious of her safety and all.
However, the maid who climbed out of the car did not have any intention of stopping her lady,
“I shall escort you to your destination, my lady. Please take the seat.”
Rumi was momentarily surprised but she warned the woman soon after, “Anywhere else this car heads to, I will kill you without a second thought.”
The older one didn’t show any shock since with this demeanor, not even the father of the young lady could stop her from reaching where Rumi’s heart belonged.
The two women sat in the car and drove away toward the only graveyard located in the east sector.
The downpour was heavy yet the car speed never was brought down from fifty as they reached the destination within ten minutes.
Rumi swung open the door and leaped out even before the car could have halted properly.
Her eyes blazed, holding back the tears she wanted to spend. Those ruby orbs roamed across the barren field with a plethora of gravestones in the vicinity.
In this current weather, not many people choose to visit their late relatives which helped Rumi spot the sole figure of a young boy currently kneeling in front of a certain gravestone.
Rumi’s feet staggered many times en route to the boy however her eyes never left his sight. She didn’t want to lose his figure and realize that he had not been there since the start. Rumi didn’t want such a situation to arise.
The small duration of twenty minutes, since she received his location to this point was like a living hell for her but she was finally here…with her Shou-kun.
His body was trembling due to the rain. His nose was reddened because of a possible cold. Face pale and whole body completely dampened. Yet…what caught her utmost attention was the look of relief in his eyes.
“Rumi-san…I want to introduce you to my mother….” Extending his hand toward her, he turned his pleading gaze at her before asking, “Will you allow me?”
Rumi was taken aback by the fact that he called her by her first name for the first time. However, this situation didn’t allow her to dwell on the matter for long before she held his offered hand and knelt just beside him.
Intentionally, she kept her shoulders touching his to show how close they were…how close Rumi wanted to be with him.
The name written on the tombstone read, ‘Sawaruma Sayuri.’
Shou looked warmly at his mother before announcing, “Mom…this person right here is my girlfriend…Takeuchi Rumi. Last time I only showed you her picture but this time I have brought her along.”
There was a sense of elation in his voice that told how happy he was to finally introduce Rumi to his mother.
That brought a sense of joy to Rumi as well. For being accepted by Shou to the point where he introduced her to his mother…indeed, she didn’t think the development of their relationship would reach this point, this soon.
“I apologize for not visiting you sooner, but as he said, I am dating your son. I hope you will bless our relationship.” Rumi bowed her head in respect and wished from the depth of her heart that wherever the lady was, who gave birth to such a wonderful person, would bless them.
When she raised her head, she found Shou looking at her with a complicated gaze yet a smile of relief and happiness never let his lips go down.
“Rumi-san…you didn’t have to come here in this rain, y’know. I would have returned home sooner or later.”
Rumi brought the other hand to his cheek before caressing him as she said, “I had to introduce myself to your parents, so I thought why not today? Was I too impatient?”
Shou wordlessly moved his head from left to right with his smile further extending. The warm sensation from her palm was helping him feel a lot calmer than before. He even leaned his face in her hold and allowed himself to take a deep breath of relief.
“Shou-kun…” Hearing her voice, Shou slowly parted his eyes and was met by a gaze that overflowed with love and concern.
However, despite how lost he seemed to be in her eyes, the words she spoke could have never gone unnoticed by him,
“I love you.”
He nodded at her confession before speaking, “I know…I know…”
But I need some time to reciprocate those feelings—those words never left his throat as he found himself getting embraced by the girl.
Being wrapped in her arms and after realizing how important he and the people related to him were to Rumi, Shou decided something at that moment.
He…wanted to respond to her feelings.
