Falling in love with my stalker - Chapter 2- His proposal
I had suspicions even though I found the evidence, however, upon witnessing Takeuchi-san’s reaction, I was certain that my stalker was none other than her.
Stalker you may ask…well, for that we need to travel three months back.
It was my second year of high school and the class began just last month in March. My daily lifestyle consists of school, a part-time job, and home.
Every morning, I leave my home nearly at eight and somehow reach the class just minutes before homeroom. My sleeping habits have always been messed up.
In general, I tend to be a friendly guy, who helps people around him and is on good terms with both kinds of people. It wasn’t a facade I was wearing, rather it was my insecurity that built my character.
Insecurity to be rejected by society…
Nevertheless, the fact that I gained a stalker for myself three months ago, signified that I have helped someone who soon got interested in me.
I could feel their gaze all the time on me. Whether it was when I commute from home to school or when I work at the convenience store, I feel their eyes always gazing at me.
I sometimes tried calling them, however, no one responded. It felt like they were having fun watching my boring life.
Naturally, I was a little terrified, however, I didn’t contact the police about it. It wasn’t like I didn’t trust the officers, rather my bad past with the police disallowed me from reporting the stalker.
In the end, I let them be as they were.
Sometimes it was unbelievable to think that a person could watch me for so long without getting bored. However, the subtle hints of their presence assured me, that I wasn’t hallucinating.
Like one of those days when I was getting late for my job because of my counseling, and suddenly rain began to drizzle down—I found an umbrella resting for me inside my shoe locker with a smiley sticker pasted on it. Or the other time, when I forgot my lunch, someone gave me a bun through a third party—without revealing their name.
There could be different people involved in this, but still, I had a feeling that all this was done by a single person; someone who cared for me.
Things were alright at that point…however, the moment my stalker began to intrude inside my house, I was a little more horrified.
Like the thought of someone watching me sleep was weird in all senses. Not to talk about, this person has not revealed their identity. What if they are some older woman….or worse, an old man?
Indeed, some considerable reasons to worry.
However, my wariness soon began to subdue since once we were in close space, I was able to sniff her caramel scent. I know it was a bit creepy but her scent lingered all around my house told me that this person was a girl. And also, the long strand of hair I sometimes found on my couch or bed, signified that at least I was being stalked by a person of the opposite gender.
Although I realized that, I was still at my edge. The person, not only roamed around my house, but sometimes, it felt like she snuggled in my bed and even uses my bathroom.
It was like when I sleep, she take ownership of the house.
I tried calling her out on several occasions. I tried thanking her for making such delicious food however, it seemed the person was extremely shy. Nothing worked and my daily life continued.
However, even though I pretended to not care about my stalker any longer, I actually was looking for her to drop her guard and leave some evidence so I could confront her.
And in the morning, I found that clue…that left me astounded.
‘Takeuchi Rumi-san is my stalker?’ The realization made my mind numb, and my senses unable to believe the evidence I held in my hand.
It was a wristwatch with diamonds engraved in it, and the back side of the watch had a name inscribed in very small letters. However, despite being small, there was no denying that the name written on it belonged to one of my classmates.
However, the reason why I was shocked was because, the type of character Takeuchi-san is, I never thought she would be interested in someone like me.
Not only was she extremely beautiful with an air of maturity always surrounding her, but the girl was also the daughter of the infamous Yakuza leader. Her mother was a known businesswoman and Yumi-san’s whole family was deeply connected with the law and economy of Japan.
For such a high-profile girl with unparalleled looks…indeed, I had more than one reason to feel this situation to be unreal.
That was why, to confirm my doubt, I brought the watch to school, and after mustering up all my courage, I offered the watch to Takeuchi-san.
And for god sake, the way her mask of indifference fell the moment she saw that piece of evidence…it was simply priceless.
I didn’t wait there for long and went toward my seat which was at the far end of the row.
Even after the sensei arrived, I could feel that Takeuchi-san was too stunned to focus on anything. She was cautious I accepted, however, everyone makes mistakes and I was waiting for her to be a little lenient in her approach.
For some reason, my chest swelled in pride as I attended the classes and a blooming smile never left my lips.
It felt nice to finally unravel the truth behind my stalker.
And as such, the seven periods of the school went by in a flash. During lunch break, Takeuchi-san disappeared somewhere and returned to class the next period. From the looks of it, she seemed distressed and I knew the reason.
Naturally, like always, no one went to talk to her or ask what was wrong with her. If not for her background, then Takeuchi-san’s cold attitude was enough to make people wary of her.
Once the bell rang, signifying the end of the day, I took the paper chit I had made some minutes ago and while walking past Takeuchi-san’s desk, I left the folded paper beside her books.
With anticipation building in my chest, I rushed down the stairways and made my way toward the backside of the school.
“Arey? Shou-kun? Aren’t you going back home?” It was my friend, Sumire-san, who asked.
“There is something I need to finish. Please go ahead of me.” Despite looking unsure, she nodded and carried on with her friends.
I waited for some more minutes, as the school began to empty. Only those who were a part of their clubs, remained while the others left the premises.
‘Did she ignore my message…?’ I wondered since Takeuchi-san was taking longer than it should have to reach here.
However, just the moment I thought to check the classroom, the figure of a black haired beautiful girl appeared from behind the tree.
“Hmm? Since when were you present here, Takeuchi-san?” I asked since I never saw her hiding behind the tree.
“Doesn’t matter. State your purpose.” Her coldness was in full glory, as she glared at me. Her tough girl front was kind of attractive, but I wasn’t going to tell her that.
Rather, focusing on the matter of concern, I asked, “Are you the one who has been looking after me for the past two months, Takeuchi-san?”
Her body visibly trembled as, just for a moment, her cold facade crumbled.
Her folded arms dropped to the side, before she raised her fingers and tucked her hair strands behind her ear.
After a short pause, a slightly blushing Takeuchi-san nodded.
A smile bloomed on my face, before I happily asked,
“Then…will you go out with me?”
“?!!”
For some reason, Takeuchi-san fainted right after and I had to carry her to the infirmary….
