Chapter 109: Yuna and Haruka-chan
(MC POV)
My steps are light as I head to Yuna’s house.
A message came: “Parents left, so it’s safe to come! We’re waiting.”
With Yuna’s parents off visiting family, I can spend a few days there freely.
Yuna’s a given, but Haruka-chan won’t mind either.
Since Yuna suggested it yesterday, I’ve been buzzing like a kid before a field trip.
The thought of seeing Haruka-chan again makes my heart race.
Ding-dong.
“Hey! Welcome! Been waiting. I’ll open the door.”
Yuna’s voice over the intercom is adorable, and I can’t contain my excitement.
Spending days with beautiful twin sisters… how could I not be thrilled?
“Morning! It’s hot out, huh? Come in quick.”
It’s scorching outside, and I’m drenched in sweat.
“It’s not even noon, and I’m soaked… Sorry if I smell.”
“Nah, you’re fine. Wanna shower together? Hehe…”
Yuna’s long hair is tied back in a braid, and she’s in casual clothes—a denim skirt and a frilly tank top. Her bare arms look soft and squishy… gulp…
I want to pin her down right now…
(Pretty tempting offer, though…)
“Hey, Yuna-chan! I’m right here, you know?”
Haruka-chan peeks out from the back. Yuna sticks out her tongue, playing dumb.
“Haruka-chan, hi. Sorry for barging in again.”
“No, it’s totally fine! …Hi… I’m, uh… glad you came back…”
Haruka-chan’s black hair is loosely braided, hanging on both sides, and she’s wearing a white shirt under a striped jumper skirt—perfectly matching her vibe, so cute.
It’s amazing how twins suit such different styles.
“Thanks, I’m happy to see you too. Your hair’s gotten longer, huh?”
“Y-Yeah… I’ve been growing it out… Does it look weird?”
She touches her braids shyly.
So cute… Her silky black hair and shy fidgeting make her irresistibly lovable.
(I never had a little sister, just an older one… I always wanted one like her…)
“Hmm? Why’re you growing it out? Since when? For who?”
Yuna sneaks behind Haruka-chan, fluffing her hair playfully… I wanna do that…
“Hey, Yuna-chan?! Stop it, your boyfriend’s right here!”
Haruka-chan’s ears turn bright red.
“Mamoru’s fine! But seriously, why? Got a crush or something?”
Yuna grins, kneading Haruka-chan’s shoulders.
This sisterly vibe is irresistible—probably something only I get to see. Perfect.
“…Yuna-chan… you should show Mamoru-san inside…”
Haruka-chan puffs her cheeks, glaring at Yuna.
She’s trying to look angry, but it just comes off as cute pouting—probably a face she only shows Yuna.
Even with identical faces, their personalities make their expressions so different.
“Got it! Mamoru, come in, come in. I’ll get some barley tea.”
Done teasing Haruka-chan, Yuna scurries to the kitchen.
“…Sorry, you came all this way, and we’re embarrassing ourselves.”
Haruka-chan looks shy but somehow pleased.
They’re such close sisters, spoiling each other, their love so clear.
A “normal” boyfriend would never see this side of them… Only I get this view… Getting a bit hard…
“No, no, not at all. You two are so close, huh? Do you love Yuna?”
I lean in, whispering in her ear.
Her ears redden, and she nods slightly…
(So cute… this girl…)
Normally, she’d hate her sister’s boyfriend doing this, but Haruka-chan, already half—no, more than half mine—feels no disgust.
“Well, I’ll come in then.”
As I head to the living room, she grabs my clothes.
“Um… I’m growing my hair out…”
She fidgets. I already heard, but… oh!
“It looks great on you. I love girls with long, pretty hair… You’re cute, Haruka-chan.”
“Hehe…”
She covers her mouth, smiling happily, her feelings for me shining through.
Her “love” was borrowed from a classmate’s crush, but it’s grown nicely.
She’s utterly convinced she’s genuinely in love with Kageyama Mamoru…
(So cute… my Haruka-chan…)
“Oh, sorry. Come in, Mamoru-san.”
*
“Mamoru-san, sorry lunch is so simple.”
“No, no, not at all! I should apologize for mooching like it’s normal.”
Haruka-chan sets out somen and tamagoyaki on the living room table.
“Don’t worry about it! Haruka-chan’s been dying to cook for you, right?”
“Y-Yuna-chan?”
Haruka-chan’s ears redden, glancing at me.
“Since your last visit, she’s been helping Mom cook more. Mom said so.”
“Yuna-chan?!”
“She practiced that tamagoyaki a ton, and she was super eager shopping for tonight’s dinner…”
“Yuna-chan… lunch is ready.”
Haruka-chan smiles, but her eyes aren’t laughing… Scary, but… still cute…
“Alright! Geez, Haruka-chan, so scary. But that’s cute too.”
Yuna laughs, sitting at the table. Haruka-chan doesn’t respond.
“Mamoru-san, go ahead.”
“Thanks. Let’s eat.”
““Let’s eat.””
Yuna and Haruka-chan clasp their hands politely, their voices in sync.
(They’re definitely sisters. Their parents must’ve raised them well.)
Slurp…
The sound of eating somen fills the room… Tasty…
“Ugh… Haruka-chan, this is barley tea, not tsuyu…”
Yuna grimaces after a slurp.
“Oh, sorry… You were being loud, so I mixed them up. I’ll swap it.”
Haruka-chan stands without looking at Yuna.
(She’s mad… First time I’ve seen the tsuyu-barley tea mix-up reversed…)
“Hey! Haruka-chan, don’t be mad…”
Yuna takes a sip of tea and spits it out… I’ll keep quiet about how a beautiful girl spitting turned me on a bit…
“I said I mixed it up, didn’t I? Hehe…”
Haruka-chan smiles, placing tsuyu and tea in front of Yuna.
(Oh, she swapped those too…)
I glance at Yuna, sipping her tea again.
(Is Haruka-chan the scary type when mad?)
Yuna nods back.
(Yep, she holds grudges… But her revenge is cute, right?)
I glance at Haruka-chan, quietly eating somen, and nod.
Lately, we’ve gotten so we understand each other with just a look.
If I tease Haruka-chan, will she get back at me? Kinda exciting…
*
After lunch, we lounge in the living room, watching TV.
Haruka-chan reads a book quietly nearby.
“Hey, is Haruka-chan still mad? Is this okay? What if she pulls away?”
I whisper to Yuna, watching TV beside me.
Her feelings for me are a hypnotic “fake.” Until they’re fully cemented like the others, even small things could undo them.
“No worries, it’s fine… But if you’re that concerned…”
Yuna stands and goes to Haruka-chan.
“Haruka-chan, still mad? Sorry.”
“…Not mad…”
Haruka-chan keeps reading, not looking at Yuna. Really upset?
“Then… show our worrywart Mamoru your true feelings.”
“Eh…?”
Yuna gently places a hand on Haruka-chan’s head…
