Dungeon And Slave: The Lustful and Violent Slave Harem of the Guard and Students Chosen as Testers for the Succubus Dungeon - Chapter 93: Monster Trap
Chapter 93: Monster Trap
Tester Life – Day 39 – Morning – 9th Floor – Yagumo Sanada
“Suspicious.”
“Way too suspicious.”
“It’s a trap.”
A Copper Treasure Chest sits in the center of a wide room.
Obviously a trap.
It’s the third day of exploring the 9th Floor.
New traps appeared—opening small rooms triggers poison arrows, increasing in number and harder to spot deeper in.
Goblin groups, still six per wave, now commonly include both wizards and archers.
Despite the time these take, we’ve mapped over half the 9th Floor.
Entering what we thought was a typical small room with goblins or a chest after Saizou disarmed traps, we find a Copper Treasure Chest alone in the center.
The room’s about three times larger than usual—roughly 30 meters square.
In this empty space, a chest like those after defeating guardians sits conspicuously.
You’d be crazy not to think it’s a trap.
“Rooms with Copper Treasure Chests remind me of the Monster House.”
“I haven’t delved dungeons often, but I heard adventurers say opening a chest caused monsters to break through walls.”
“That’s a brutal trap… but it’s plausible.”
“I think so too.”
Sheena’s words resonate with Sayaka and me.
The chest is tempting, but no need to risk it.
Yet, the 4th Floor Monster House’s hidden staircase comes to mind.
They might reuse that gimmick—or not.
So far, Guardian Rooms have been on main paths. Unlike the kobold floor, normal exploration finds them.
But the 9th Floor might differ. They could lull us into expecting easy finds, only to hide a passage or staircase in a Monster House.
The 4th Floor gimmick makes me hesitate to bypass this.
“Alright, let’s spring the trap.”
If it were evening, I’d skip it due to low mana, but it’s before noon. We’ve got plenty.
“Indeed. With you, Danna-sama, we can handle dozens of goblins.”
“I’ve got enough mana too.”
“Then let’s do it. Saizou, open the chest. Rock, protect Saizou.”
“Gyui!”
“Wan!”
At my command, Rock shields Saizou as they approach the chest.
“Sayaka, prep a full-power Ice Arrow and hold. Sheena, we wait here.”
“Yes! ‘Ice Arrow’!”
“Understood, Danna-sama.”
Sayaka summons three ice arrows above her head. Sheena draws her rapier, arms relaxed, eyes sharp on the walls.
I draw my machete, ready my small shield, and crouch, poised to spring.
As Saizou opens the chest to check inside—
The front and side walls crumble, revealing three groups of six goblins each—18 total, including archers and wizards.
Goblin Archers have arrows nocked, and wizards have fireballs ready.
Tch! Talk about murderous intent!
“Rock, Saizou! Fall back!”
Rock raises his shield, retreating full-speed as fireballs and arrows fly.
Arrows pierce where Saizou stood, and fireballs explode around the chest.
Rock and Saizou block debris and sparks with the greatshield, retreating to us.
Twelve sword-wielding goblins—four from each direction—chase them.
“Ice Arrow! Ice Arrow! Ice Arrow!”
Ice arrows soar over the goblins, piercing the chests of wizards prepping next spells by the broken walls.
“Fireball! Fireball!”
To stall, I launch double-mana Fireballs at the left and right goblin groups, then shout orders.
“Sayaka, snipe archers! Rock, guard Sayaka! Saizou, flank left and skirmish! Sheena, we break through the front! Go!”
“Yes! ‘Ice Arrow’!”
“Wan!”
“Leave it to me, Danna-sama!”
Hearing their replies, Sheena and I charge the front goblins.
“Wind Cutter! Wind Cutter! Wind Cutter!”
I unleash a barrage of Wind Cutters to stagger the front group. Sheena dives in, precisely stabbing necks and hearts.
I block an arrow aimed at her from the left with my shield, then bash the lead goblin of the left group with it.
This reveals the archer who fired, but an ice arrow already protrudes from its chest.
Saizou ambushes the left goblins from behind.
Leaving that to him, I turn to the right group.
Sheena’s already finished the front goblins and is leaping at the right group.
Their archer’s silenced.
Shoulder-to-shoulder with Sheena, we wipe out the remaining goblins.
“That was a nasty trap.”
Slashing the last goblin, I speak to Sheena beside me.
“Indeed. Staying alert was the right call.”
“Your knowledge saved us, Sheena.”
If Rock and I had gone to the chest, we’d have been half-encircled.
That could’ve endangered Sayaka and Saizou.
Sheena’s otherworldly knowledge has been invaluable, not just now.
Beyond monsters and magic tools, she knows dungeons well, as expected of a royal princess’s guard who roamed battlefields.
“Hehe, I’m glad my past life’s knowledge helped.”
“Ha, past life, huh? As long as you’re looking forward, that’s fine.”
Sheena seems dissatisfied with her life before death. Expected a refined castle life as a princess’s attendant and guard, only to be dragged across battlefields for two years after starting? She’d call it a scam, and dying in battle would make her want to forget.
As long as she’s not chained to the past and moves forward, no issue.
“Sorry, Goshujinsama. I let the archers fire.”
“Don’t worry. Archers reload faster than wizards. Be proud you took out two before they fired.”
When I told Sayaka to target archers, they were already nocking arrows. Taking out two instantly was impressive.
“Still, I’ll practice to fire faster.”
I praised her, but Sayaka’s expression stays dark.
She’s too serious. That’s why her sex skills are top-notch, though.
It’s a hassle, but I’ll cheer her up. It’d affect our dungeon sex otherwise.
“Ice Arrow takes time to cast, so prioritize accuracy over speed. You’re already indispensable. Take them out one by one, surely.”
“Oh… yes!”
Sayaka’s face brightens at my words. Being needed by me must thrill her. The Lust Tattoo’s effect is unreal. Hope it never wears off.
As Sayaka thanks Rock for guarding her, smiling wryly at his pleased reaction, Saizou returns with magic stones and a chain-like item.
“Hm? From the chest?”
“Gyui.”
Asking about the chain, Saizou offers it with a gesture of assent.
“Chainmail?”
Spreading it, it’s black iron chainmail.
Thinking it’s for Saizou, I try it over his ninja outfit, but it’s too big.
Then, the chainmail shrinks, fitting him perfectly.
“Magic gear, huh?”
It has an auto-size function, making it worth being the chest’s only item.
“Alright, Saizou, wear that chainmail under your ninja outfit.”
It’s even more ninja-like. I say so, and Saizou kneels, letting out a “Gyugyagyagyagya”—probably “grateful happiness”—and bows.
The corner of his mouth peeks from his hood, upturned, so he’s happy.
While Saizou layers it under his outfit, we split up to check the walls the goblins emerged from.
“No passages or stairs here. Hey, Sheena, Sayaka, anything?”
“Nothing here.”
“Same, nothing.”
“A bust, or maybe there’s none to begin with.”
Either way, we can’t skip rooms like this in the future.
It’s a hassle, but unlike the 4th Floor Monster House, getting a Copper Treasure Chest even if it’s a bust is a relief.
That time, we fought hard for three Wooden Treasure Chests.
Thinking of it pisses me off.
With this crew, it’s not too tough. Knowing where ambush goblins come from, next time will be easier.
Let’s call it a bonus room for Copper Treasure Chests.
It’s noon, so let’s eat here.
I give Rock a sports drink, Saizou his favorite candy, and tell them to rest in the corner.
Calling Sayaka and Sheena, we eat lunch and proceed with our daily dungeon sex.
