Chapter 84: Assassin and Kaiser
Tester Life – Day 33 – Evening – 8th Floor – Yagumo Sanada
“Fire Bullet!” “Fireball!”
“Rock! There’s a trap on the floor! Head to the wall! Saizou, back up Rock! I’ll circle around the other side!”
A group of five goblins wielding rusty swords and one Goblin Archer appears ahead. I unleash a Fire Bullet, taking out the archer first.
Then, I follow with a Fireball, catching two goblins in the blast and halting their advance.
In the meantime, I instruct Rock and Saizou to avoid the floor trap, circling around from the opposite direction.
“Goshujinsama.”
Sheena calls out, and I turn to see her ears twitching as she points forward and backward.
“Tch! Rock! Saizou! It’s a rush! Six more from the front and back! Sheena and Sayaka, buy us time!”
“Wan!”
“Gyai!”
“Yes! Water Wall!”
Each responds to my orders. Sayaka deploys a Water Wall tightly against the back wall, likely doubling the mana input. A six-meter-high, four-meter-wide wall of water appears.
It’s impressive, but it can’t fully block the passage, leaving a two-meter gap.
Sheena stands ready in that gap, rapier in hand.
Trusting Sheena to hold off goblins bypassing the water wall, I focus on the enemies ahead.
Rock is already blocking attacks from the three surviving initial goblins with his shield, countering with his short spear. Nearby, Saizou throws knives, wounding the goblins.
Keeping Rock and Saizou in my peripheral vision, I target a newly appeared Goblin Archer with magic.
“Fire Bullet!”
“Gya!”
It’s a bit far, but my flaming bullet hits the Goblin Archer square in the chest.
“Fireball!”
After dealing with the archer, I launch a Fireball at the remaining five goblins. It engulfs one in flames and ignites the waistcloths of two others, stopping them. Two left.
With some breathing room, I check on Sayaka and Sheena. Sheena is picking off goblins emerging from beyond the water wall’s range.
The Goblin Archer’s attacks are blocked by the water wall. For some reason, it keeps shooting at Sayaka, protected behind it.
It must think it can pierce through. What an idiot—really saves us.
I leave the remaining front enemies to Rock, who’s finished off the initial goblins, and join Sheena.
Together, we dispatch the goblins appearing from the water wall’s edge, then I snipe the Goblin Archer.
“Fire Bullet!”
Being close, I score a headshot.
Looking at Rock, he’s already dealt with the two I left, and Saizou is finishing off a writhing goblin, half-burned.
“Phew, handled it well.”
With the rush of 18 goblins over, I exhale lightly and sheathe my machete.
A rush in a trapped passage is tense, no doubt.
“It was a bit hectic, but I managed to summon the Water Wall exactly where I aimed this time.”
Sayaka approaches, looking relieved.
“Yeah, funneling the goblins to one spot made it easier for me and Sheena to fight. Keep it up.”
In practice, she could summon it against the wall, but during a rush this afternoon, it was off, forcing us to deal with goblins from two gaps.
Back then, I had Rock block one gap, Sheena cover the other, and Saizou support while I handled the remaining goblins from the front.
As long as I take out the archer first and watch for traps, I can handle ten goblins alone. But it burns through magic, so this approach is definitely better.
“Wan!”
As I’m thinking, Rock’s bark comes from behind, and I turn.
Saizou is crouching, emitting a black light.
“Oh, evolved, huh?”
Looks like Saizou’s ranked up from E to E+.
I’ve been letting him land finishing blows in this and the last expedition, and fighting same-rank foes seems to have sped up his rank-up.
“Eh? Saizou-san?”
“Yeah, that black light means they’re evolving.”
I lead Sayaka, surprised by her first monster evolution, and Sheena, who’s finished collecting magic stones, to Saizou.
We arrive just as Saizou’s evolution finishes, and he stands.
“Hm, not much change.”
I look at the evolved Saizou, but he’s still about 150 cm, the height of a regular goblin.
Since Goblin Assassins are similar, he’s probably evolved into one, but…
“Oh, his face looks a bit more refined?”
“Hm? Yeah, his nose is neater and a bit higher… but that’s it.”
At Sayaka’s comment, I peer at his face, hidden by his ninja hood. His flattened nose is now higher.
Still, it’s just average for a Japanese nose. More human-like than the Goblin Assassin we fought?
“Gya gya gya.”
As I observe, Saizou kneels, holds his sheathed dagger with both hands, and focuses intently.
After a few seconds, he slowly draws the dagger and offers me the handle.
What’s this? I take it and notice a purple liquid on the blade.
“Whoa! Poison?! You can produce poison?!”
“Gyai.”
“Amazing! He’s like a real assassin!”
Sayaka and I are shocked, and Saizou bows, slightly curling the corner of his mouth. Unlike Rock, his joy is cool—very ninja-like.
Poison, huh? Goblin Assassins did use poison. I thought their daggers were poisoned magic items, but it was their own ability.
Goblins are scary. Not just dexterous, they have abilities kobolds lack.
I have him produce poison again. It takes a few seconds, and it only sticks to his own weapons.
Probably needs his mana to bond with the weapon.
I don’t need poison weapons, and Sheena shook her head, so we don’t need it.
Still, Saizou matching a Goblin Assassin’s poison attack is huge.
Testing his movements, his speed has jumped, and his knife-throwing accuracy is up.
His durability seems goblin-level, but a speed-focused, long-range poison knife style could be strong.
We wait for Sayaka to finish mapping, and since it’s late, we end today’s expedition.
Now, back home, I’ll coat my “sword” with white fluid and thrust it into Sayaka and Sheena’s “sheaths.”

Tester Life – Day 34 – Noon – 8th Floor – Yagumo Sanada
Last night, I went 14 rounds with Sayaka, Sheena, and Mia’s group, woke to a morning blowjob, and after lunch, did one creampie each in cowgirl in a small room before resuming exploration.
Man, that brat Aria last night was something.
Coming just from Pink Rotors on her nipples? Fastest Wall Butt girl ever, probably.
She kept coming with the rotor on her clit, and inside her pussy, she squirted like crazy—a total weak pussy.
Mia, though, had great reactions. Same sensitivity as Aria, but she fought to endure it, unlike the spineless Aria.
Her reaction to Anal Beads was great too. Her already tight vagina clamped so hard it felt amazing.
Wait, hold on. My “son,” tougher with my rank-up, felt like it’d tear from that vaginal pressure. If my rank was still low… I should warn Yuki and Matsuki. Use toys only after ranking up, or it’ll break off.
Anyway, 8th Floor exploration is going smoothly, thanks to Sayaka’s Light spell and mapping.
At this rate, we’ll map all unexplored areas tomorrow or the day after.
Saizou’s evolved combat prowess mirrors the 7th Floor Guardian Goblin Assassin—speed-focused, toying with goblins by throwing knives, easing Rock’s burden.
He’s even taken down Goblin Archers with poisoned daggers.
During goblin back attacks or rushes, he’s an excellent skirmisher, covering our weak spots.
He now spots traps before anyone, disarming them before enemies appear.
8th Floor traps are just arrow-triggering stones and spear-triggering threads.
Deeper in, there are more, placed nastily, but there aren’t many types. In light, they’re easy to spot.
Saizou likely learned trap traits and disarming by watching me and Rock. Smarter than regular goblins.
Thanks to him, I use less magic and don’t worry about traps, letting Rock unleash charges, shortening battles.
I was skeptical about using dim-witted goblins, but he’s exceeded expectations.
I figured his intelligence would take after me, but I didn’t expect such a perceptive goblin.
Thanks to Saizou, exploration time is cut, and rushes are safer.
Right now, Rock’s finishing goblins weakened by Saizou’s poison from a recent group.
Watching this reversal from pre-evolution, I’m lost in thought when Rock crouches, emitting black light.
Rock’s turn! His first rank-up in a while—two weeks? We took detours with rest, Sayaka’s power-leveling, and babysitting Gozaru’s group, but he’s killed plenty of lower-rank goblins.
I figured it was coming. No rank-up signs for me, though.
“Rock-chan!”
Sayaka rushes to Rock, worried as he crouches in pain.
She saw Saizou’s evolution yesterday and knows it’s fine, but she’s attached to Rock.
Sheena and I, now standing side by side, watch them.
As the black light from Rock fades, he’s noticeably bigger.
“Amazing! So big! Rock-chan’s even sturdier now!”
“Vof… wa, wafun♪”
Praised by Sayaka, Rock tries to bark but his voice is deeper. Panicking, he barks in a cuter, closer-to-before tone.
Sly bastard.
About 170 cm tall? He was 140 cm, so not that huge. But his muscle mass is insane, widening him a lot. Big enough to hide Sayaka and Sheena.
Yet his face is the same—cute Shiba Inu vibes.
No way, that body with that face is nuts!
Can monsters tweak their evolved face?
Did he keep it to get Sayaka’s praise and affection?
If so, sly.
Very sly.
As I give New Rock, wagging his tail while Sayaka pets him, a deadpan look, Sheena mutters.
“Kaiser.”
“Hm? Rock?”
“Yes, similar.”
“Got it. Similar to the Kobold Kaiser species. Above King, so Kaiser. Makes sense.”
It looks slightly different from Sheena’s known Kobold Kaiser, probably because Rock customized his face.
Sounds like a final-stage evolution, but hitting D-rank means he’s much stronger. He’ll be an even better tank.
After Sayaka fawns over him, Saizou pats Rock’s shoulder, congratulating his evolution. We head deeper to test his upgrades.
Walking a bit, Sheena’s warning comes from behind.
“Goshujinsama.”
“Rock! Company! Six of them! Saizou, go ahead, check and disarm traps! Sayaka, Waterball for crowd control! I’ll take the archer!”
“Von!”
“Gyai!”
“Yes!”
Each responds. Saizou dashes out, finds a stone trap, crouches, and triggers it.
Arrows shoot from the wall, pass over Saizou, hit the opposite wall, and fall.
Saizou flips back, hiding behind Rock.
Meanwhile, the goblin group appears in the Light spell’s range.
Five goblins with rusty swords charge chaotically, followed by a bow-wielding goblin.
“Waterball!”
Sayaka launches three water orbs at them.
“Gya gya!”
The lead goblins laugh, dodging diagonally out of the line of fire.
“Gya!?”
But Sayaka’s water orbs track them, hitting their temples.
Staggering, they drop their swords, on the verge of collapse.
“Vooooon!”
Rock charges, blowing them away.
The goblins slam into the wall and stop moving.
Insane power.
The Goblin Archer, deeming Rock a threat, stops and draws its bow.
“Fire Bullet!”
My flame bullet pierces its forehead. The archer falls backward, bow in hand.
As the archer drops, Saizou, still behind Rock, throws poisoned knives at the two lagging goblins.
They try to dodge, but the knives hit arm and side.
They keep coming, but their speed slows, faces paling, and they collapse. Poison’s taken hold.
“Sheena.”
“…None.”
I check with Sheena for more goblins, but none are coming.
The goblins Rock blasted turn to black particles without needing a finishing blow.
Hitting the wall that hard would kill them.
Damn, his strength is terrifying.
His armor looks tight. As a reward for evolving, I’ll get him new armor. There was a large Black Iron Full-Body Armor. Pricey, but worth it for Rock’s past and future contributions.
And for Saizou, a Black Iron Dagger. The black blade will hide the poison better.
Watching Rock, cautiously holding his greatshield, and Saizou, collecting magic stones, I plan gear upgrades for my now-reliable summons.
