Dungeon And Slave: The Lustful and Violent Slave Harem of the Guard and Students Chosen as Testers for the Succubus Dungeon - Chapter 76: Saizou
Chapter 76: Saizou
Tester Life, Day 30 – Noon – 8th Floor – Sanada Yagumo
“Whoa, Rock! Watch out, there’s a thread ahead.”
“Wafun!”
I spot a transparent thread in the passage and warn Rock.
Rock looks down, cautiously advancing, and finds the thread at knee height. He cuts it from a distance with his short spear.
Instantly, spears shoot from both walls where the thread was.
Set at waist height, they’d cause serious injury if triggered unknowingly.
The spear ports are camouflaged with brick-patterned paper, harder to spot than arrow traps.
Nasty trap.
Deeper in the 8th Floor, traps get vicious. Luckily, this spear trap’s thread is visible in light, and unlike arrow traps, Goblins trigger it too. I saw two skewered already.
It feels extra cruel, designed to kill even at the cost of Goblins.
Without magic, or if mana’s depleted, closing the gap to a Goblin Archer risks triggering the thread. Brutal.
Fortunately, we’ve spotted them in advance.
Thanks to the glowing orb overhead.
Sayaka’s Light spell creates this orb, brightly illuminating the passage.
It consumes mana equal to one Waterball but lasts three hours without dimming. It follows the caster, just like in manga.
Sayaka drinks Grade 5 Mana Recovery Potions, recovering one spell’s mana every 35 minutes, making Light cost-effective. Sheena nodded when I bought it—must be essential for labyrinth exploration.
Rock’s headlamp is bright but darkens unlit areas. The orb lights everything evenly.
It makes us more noticeable to distant Goblins, increasing fights, but we handle it fine.
Sheena instantly reacts to Goblins from behind, and Sayaka blocks arrows with Water Wall.
Water Wall creates a 2-meter-wide, 3-meter-high water barrier in front of the caster, lasting a minute with decent defense.
It blocks Goblin Archer arrows and a few Goblin attacks, enough time for me or Sheena to cover. Plenty.
I told Sayaka to use extra mana if needed. Double mana doubles the wall’s size; triple keeps the size but boosts defense and duration significantly.
Patting myself on the back for good purchases, I proceed. Sheena softly calls, “Master.”
Turning, I see her hold up four fingers, then one.
“Rock, three Goblins and one Archer ahead.”
“Wafun!”
Rock stops, readying his greatshield.
Soon, familiar cries echo, and they enter the orb’s light.
“Gyagyagya!”
Three Goblins with rusty swords and knives, one Archer. Sheena’s spot-on.
Her hearing’s as sharp as her legs. Total rabbit.
Thanks to her, we detect enemies early, outweighing the orb’s visibility drawback. Sheena’s quick response to back attacks keeps us safe.
When the Goblins close to 10 meters, the Archer stops, drawing its bow.
“Fire Bullet.”
My shot pierces its forehead.
At 10 meters, with a stationary target, a headshot’s easy.
“Waterball.”
Sayaka fires one Waterball, hitting the lead Goblin’s abdomen, knocking it back into another, both tumbling.
After checking for traps, I rush, slashing the remaining Goblin as I pass.
Rock follows, stabbing the fallen Goblins with his spear.
“Master.”
Sheena calls from behind, staring ahead, holding up four fingers again.
“Rock, more incoming! Sayaka, stand by. Watch the rear.”
“Yes!”
As I order, another Goblin group appears.
I headshot the Archer, and while Rock blocks three Goblins’ attacks with his shield, I cut them down from the side.
No Goblins come from behind, thankfully.
We defeat them all, and Rock collects magic stones.
Turning, I see Sayaka picking up stones from the first group, tilting her head at something.
“Huh?”
I approach to check.
“Master, is this…?”
“Finally!”
In Sayaka’s hand is a red, translucent Magic Seal Crystal.
We’ve killed about 1,700 Goblins.
It took longer than with Rock, but a 0.1% drop after 1,700 tries—170 ten-pulls—makes sense.
Rock’s crystal dropped after half that, so I got lucky then.
“Wow, a Goblin inside! Our new teammate, right?”
“Well, yeah, but Goblins are dexterous but dumb.”
“But Rock-chan’s smarter than normal Kobolds and a good boy.”
“Waf!”
Rock, at a distance, puffs his chest and barks proudly.
Always quick to soak up praise, this dog.
“Well, true.”
Goblins charge mindlessly without a leader, like Kobolds. I see them as dexterous Kobolds.
But Rock’s smart. Maybe crystal-sealed monsters grow smarter with a wise master. That’d explain it.
I take the crystal from Sayaka, channel mana, and manifest it.
A black light bursts, and a green-skinned Goblin appears, kneeling with its head bowed. Naked.
Terminator vibes.
“Raise your face.”
“Gyai.”
The Goblin responds with a sound like “as you wish” and looks up.
“It feels totally different,” Sayaka says.
“Yeah, smarter than regular Goblins.”
The Goblin has small horns, a flat nose, and jagged teeth.
But its eyes show intelligence, unlike the mindless, bloodthirsty Goblins.
Guess that’s my influence as its master.
“For now, wear this.”
I pull a new pair of my spare briefs, treasure chest leather vest, pants, gauntlets, and hat from my Magic Pouch, ordering it to dress.
“Gyai.”
Again, sounding like “as you wish,” it stands, putting on the briefs, pants, and vest.
I glimpse its massive junk—definitely the succubi creators’ taste. They’re into beastmen and freaky stuff.
The clothes are baggy on the 150 cm Goblin, sleeves and pant legs dangling.
Too big.
I wrap a belt around its waist.
Sheena crouches beside me, neatly folding the jacket sleeves and pant legs.
She removes them, pulls a thick needle and thread from her maid outfit pocket, and starts sewing.
“Prepared, huh? When’d you get that?”
“For Sayaka-sama.”
She glances at Sayaka.
“I bought leather sewing tools for Master’s gear maintenance. Didn’t know she brought them. Amazing, Sheena-san,” Sayaka praises.
“No.”
Sheena replies curtly, sewing swiftly.
She finishes quickly, redressing the Goblin.
Now it looks like a mechanic in a flight cap.
“Better for movement, at least.”
“Master, what’s its name?”
“Oh, right, a name.”
It might become useful like Rock. Let’s name it.
“Hmm, Saizou.”
Its kneeling entrance felt ninja-like, so I went with it.
The “as you wish” vibe fits.
“Saizou-san, huh. I’m Sayaka, nice to meet you.”
“Order: Obey her and the bunny-eared beauty too.”
“Gyai.”
At my command, Saizou kneels, bowing to Sayaka and Sheena.
“Looks good. Take these knives. Finish off downed Goblins.”
“Gyai, gyagya.”
I hand over two sheathed treasure chest knives. Saizou bows, respectfully accepting, and attaches them to both hips.
So formal.
With a new monster ally, I place Saizou beside Rock and resume exploration.
