- Chuunibyou's Odyssey: From Mundane to Invincible in Another World
- Chap 8 - First big event
A few months have passed since the ceremony. During that time, some people tried to join my sect, but Rosalina, who insisted on being in charge of the aptitude tests, didn’t think any of them were strong enough.
Well, it doesn’t matter to me if the person is weak, since I have a device that can give people powers, but Rosalina insisted on being careful, so I agreed.
It would hurt my image if some of these disciples started to hang out with anyone and started to slander me.
Rosalina has also been doing a great job on her own, so I won’t talk about that right now.
“Master, I have some questions.” Rosalina came running to me.
“You may ask, my student.” I talked like the master I read in a novel when I answered her.
She usually practiced her sword in the sect’s courtyard, and she always came to me to ask me things I didn’t know and that I had to make up.
Damn, that crazy master didn’t teach me anything except how to survive and traumatize myself with different kinds of torture. I had to start studying on my own, and luckily, my friend Adam left me some books.
“Master, I don’t know why, even though we are already notable, only weak people come to see us.” Rosalina asked, watching the horizon with worry. “I know you want to save people with hidden talent, but so far none of them have shown up.”
“I also noticed that this could be because other guilds are keeping the best players,” I said in a calm voice to make myself sound smart.
Of course they didn’t show up because the kind of test you gave to newbies was too hard. If I had been so picky, neither would you have passed. Oh well, it’s not like I missed out on much.
“Yes, Master, but this is so frustrating that I don’t know what to do.”
When Rosalina was talking a painting spirit came: “Master, someone is waiting at the sect door.”
This kind of spirit is used to warn when someone comes to the sect and keep out strangers. Usually, when someone approaches with hostility, it takes care of the person, but if it came to warn me, then it is a visit.
Thank you person who I don’t know, for interrupting this conversation. I should hurry before this person leaves and I have to go back to talking about philosophical things.
I went to the entrance of the sect with Rosalina behind me.
There was a young woman standing outside. Her long hair covered half of her face.
Her clothes were simple and elegant. They reminded me of Japanese clothes, specifically a Cheongsam, and showed off her Asian beauty and femininity.
She was one of the most beautiful girls I’ve ever seen. Her white hair gave her a mature look that suited her outfit.
“Humph!” Rosalina made a jealous sound.
“Greetings, Master Sorah. My name is Caroline, and I’m the leader of the Blue Roses sect,” she said as she bowed to me.
“There’s no need for all that pomp; what brings you here?” I said politely, mimicking her actions.
“I want to talk to you about some things,” she said again in a polite way.
“Oh, I see. Let’s talk some more in the garden.”
In this world, it’s considered rude to invite yourself, so if I didn’t invite her, she’d wait outside until the end, which would hurt my reputation because it would show that I’m not a good host.
Rosalina followed us while holding my hand tightly, like a girl who is jealous of her father.
“Thank you for inviting me in. What I’m here to talk about is of the utmost importance,” she said right away.
“What would it be?”
I hope the topic isn’t boring.
“Larger sects are preparing to attack smaller sects that have a lot of potentials.”
“I see.”
This topic is interesting.
Rosalina said firmly, “No one would attack my master, especially after what happened at the festival.”
“That’s right, they won’t attack right now, but they definitely will in the future,” Caroline tried to explain.
“You only came here to ask my Master for protection,” Rosalina said angrily.
“I won’t deny it,” Caroline said sheepishly.
“Okay, I accept; no even better I’ll train you, and we’ll attack first.”
This event was a classic example of stronger sects underestimating weaker sects. If I can train Caroline’s sect, it will make things more interesting.
“But master—” Rosalina tried to complain.
“Rosalina, this woman has a special skill. I want you to help me train her sect. I trust you, and I need your help,” I whispered to calm her down.
“Yes, Master,” said Rosalina with great pride.
I know how to deal with her jealousy now that I’ve been training her for so long, so she won’t stop their training, which would be the worst thing that could happen.
I’ll finally show these bigger sects how bad I am by crushing them, or rather, by making a weaker sect crush them.
