- Chap 14 - Iron Heart sect
Bruno couldn’t hide his fear when he saw all the damage Sorah had caused.
“Master Sorah, that was a great move,” Rosalina said as if she were a fan girl watching her idol.
“I have to agree.” Caroline was still added.
Both of them were very proud to see their master fight.
“It didn’t matter…” Sorah tried to hide how proud she felt.
Rosalina leaned her head close to Sorah’s hand like a cat and said, “Master Sorah, I have beaten every other piece of trash in this sect.”
Sorah just patted her head.
“I also won against the garbage,” Caroline yelled, still feeling bad about the way she was talking.
Bruno started to remember when he let Rosalina join his sect after seeing that scene and how much Rosalina had improved in such a short time.
***
Since Bruno was fifteen, he had been in charge of the Iron Heart sect.
Before he met Rosalina, he always thought that people had good hearts.
Rosalina was very mean, and even though she could do anything to make her life better, Bruno chose to believe that she would get better with his guidance.
Bruno let her join his sect, but the aptitude test showed that she was useless.
Bruno didn’t know what to do. He couldn’t train her because he only trained people he thought had potential, so he sent her to be trained by his senior disciples.
After a few years, Rosalina was still the same, and her strength hadn’t changed, so people in the sect started to say, “This girl will still betray our master.”
Bruno thought Rosalina needed more guidance, but he was too busy to help her, so he didn’t blame her.
Then, one day, his disciples badmouthed Rosalina, saying that she would try to poison him and kill him, even though they didn’t think he should be careful.
To his dismay, he found out that Rosalina had tried to poison him.
Bruno, repulsed by Rosalina, said, “I trusted you, Rosalina.”
Rosalina was like a daughter to him, and being betrayed by her was like a knife to his heart.
“I did everything for you, so why did you betray me?” he asked.
“You did everything for me? Don’t lie, you pushed me into a corner!” Rosalina replied with anger, and it was clear from the way she looked that she had been keeping everything to herself. All you did was favor one group over the others, and you don’t even know what goes on in your sect!”
“Stop talking, you traitor! You poisoned our master. Master, please kick her out.” Bruno’s disciple protested with anger.
Bruno couldn’t do anything, so he had to kick her out in public.
***
Later, during the ceremony for the novice sect, Bruno found out that Rosalina had joined another novice sect.
He was sad that a master had accepted a betrayal, but he didn’t expect to see what he did. In just a few months, Rosalina had improved a lot.
That can’t be true; this must be a trick of the eye. She was completely useless.
Not just Bruno, but all other sect leaders had the same thought.
“This Master Sorah must be one of the most promising sect leaders around here,” a sect leader exclaimed.
“Do you know him?” Bruno asked, curious.
“That’s him over there,” the sect leader said, pointing to an 18-year-old boy.
“Do you know where he came from?” Bruno asked again.
“No one knows much about him, except that he took on your ex-disciple.”
Bruno didn’t expect that answer. “Don’t you think it’s strange that he took my former disciple even though she poisoned me?”
Before answering, the leader of the sect thought for a moment. “Maybe he saw something in her that we didn’t, or maybe he’s just like her.”
After the ceremony, Bruno decided to investigate more.
He quickly went to greet Sorah, but there were a lot of sect leaders around him.
“Master Sorah, how did you instruct her?” one of the sect leaders asked.
“I only taught her what my master taught me,” Master Sorah replied.
Several other sect leaders will continue to ask questions about Rosalina.
Why all the fuss? Why is everyone treating her like a jewel that I’ve missed? She betrayed me, and she poisoned me! Bruno thought as he saw the sect leaders gathering around Sorah and fawning over Rosalina.
Bruno tried to ask, but his questions were always ignored until Sorah left, saying he had to go find his disciple.
“That Master Sorah just got here, and he’s already full of himself,” one of the sect leaders who was fawning over Rosalina said. “If this girl had been in my sect, I’m sure she would have improved even more.”
“Yes, I’m sure he just used the work that Master Bruno did.” Bruno agreed right away, maybe because he didn’t want to admit he was wrong and Sorah was a better sect leader than him.
After that, some sect leaders who didn’t like small sects got him interested in attacking them. For them, the small sects were useless and should be wiped out. Bruno only fell for it because he wanted to destroy Sorah.
Bruno wanted to prove to himself that he was better than Sorah, but all he could do was show the opposite. During his fight with Sorah, he saw that the two were so different in strength that it was like comparing heaven and earth.
How did this monster manage to copy old master Adam’s technique?
A/N:- I’m not going to ignore what Rosalina did in the past. She had her reasons, but she’s not a saint and doesn’t feel bad about anything. I’ll leave her the way she is so she can have a good relationship with the MC and know who wants to take advantage of him.
