- (Chastity Reversed) I'm Sorry, My Lady. I Had Sex With Another Woman Again
- Chapter 43: Someone Who Works Hard Deserves a Reward, Don’t They?
“My Lady, good work today.”
“…Fufu, don’t worry about it!”
The ladies returned from the sports festival just after I had taken a shower to wash off the vomit that had gotten on my body.
My lady said, with a beaming smile.
Ginny was staring at me with a grin.
Suberia looking somewhat dejected.
And Shia with a thin, somewhat sad smile.
The expressions of the returning girls were all different, making it hard to tell whether their results had been good or bad.
However, today they would be having dinner together, which was rare.
This was the first time since my lady had joined the team. So something good must have happened.
But a meal for everyone meant four people.
No, including me, five portions?
Naturally, I hadn’t prepared that much food in advance. I quickly began the preparations, barely finishing my greeting.
“Good work to all of you as well. If you give me about 20 minutes, I can prepare the meal, so please enjoy your conversation until then.”
“N-no! We came suddenly, so please take your time cooking! We can wait four hours or five hours! Don’t worry about it!”
Suberia fluttered her hands up and down, showing signs of panic. Perhaps she hadn’t cooled down yet after just finishing the sports festival.
Ginny, on the other hand, was her usual self toward her. Well, she often came here, so that’s natural.
“Senpai♡ I’ll help you♡”
“Oh, that would be helpful. I’ll leave it to you then.”
“…Why is it only Ginny, when we’re both nobles…” mumble
For some reason, Suberia was glaring at me.
[How dare you, a mere servant! I wanted to chat with everyone, but you’re making someone help with cooking-such negligence of your duties. Couldn’t you read the room a little?]
Was that what she’s thinking…?
No, that couldn’t be right. After all, we used to get along well at one point. Our relationship was just a bit awkward now.
…
…………
That’s not it… right?
I want to believe it’s not.
“W-well then. Ginny, can you peel the vegetables?”
“Yes~♡”
“No, this is fine, Suberia…You should have prepared yourself for this, right? Being close would only be painful, so formal language is better…”
Suberia muttered to herself, looking off into the distance.
My lady didn’t seem interested in cooking and collapsed onto the sofa with a yawn.
(Well then, let’s get started…)
“U-um! …Can I help too?”
The moment I rolled up my sleeves and turned toward the kitchen,
Shia’s trembling voice reached my ears from behind.
When I turned around, I saw Shia with slightly teary eyes and Suberia looking at her with wide eyes, as if surprised.
I was a bit taken aback by the two of them, but there was no reason to refuse. I wanted a chance to talk with Shia too.
“Of course, I don’t mind. …Thank you.”
◇
My lady collapsed on the large sofa like a slime, and beside her, Suberia lay face down, sleeping as if she had fainted, all strength drained from her body.
With the two of them behind us, the three of us were preparing the meal.
“How did it go today?”
I spoke to Shia, who was cutting vegetables next to me. It wasn’t because I was afraid of silence.
I was the type who couldn’t stand unexpected silences when with others, but there was something strangely comfortable about the space with the three of us preparing food. Even the quiet moments felt relaxing.
So I simply voiced what I was curious about.
“Ahaha, I did terribly. Me, personally. As a team, we passed, I guess. We couldn’t get the top spot, but we secured some academic advantages, so it was okay.”
“I see…”
She stopped cutting vegetables and muttered with a bitter smile.
Apparently, Shia hadn’t been able to contribute much. Her tone revealed a hint of frustration. But-
“But you look better now. When I saw you before, you had a much worse expression.”
“…Did I look that bad? I’m surprised you were watching me. Me, specifically.”
“Well, of course. I can’t easily forget someone foolish enough to pick a fight with Dorothy-sama on the first day of training. I can’t help but keep an eye on you.”
“Haha, how long are you going to keep bringing that up? Forget about it already~”
Ufufu, ahaha.
Both Shia and I naturally broke into smiles. That made me very happy.
“Did something good happen?”
“Something good…? I wonder, I don’t know, but… …I’ve come to accept something, I was able to accept it.”
“???”
Shia stopped cutting vegetables.
Her eyes were directed at the carrot in front of her, but she seemed to be looking somewhere else.
Lowering her voice but speaking clearly, Shia said:
“Today, I was saved by Nico.”
“Eh???”
Saved by Nico.
I thought I heard those words, but it might have been my imagination. My lady? The same person who once decided to faint after seeing a cockroach at a hotel during a trip?
She helped Shia, who was one of the top warriors at the academy?
Is that for real…?
“Ahaha, even Simon-san can’t believe it. Can’t blame you~ I mean, it’s that child we’re talking about.”
“N-no. I wasn’t thinking anything so disrespectful.”
After turning around to confirm that my lady couldn’t hear us, I faced Shia again. She smiled sadly, then came close enough that we were almost touching and whispered in my ear:
“But it’s true, you know. I was really saved by her today. …That’s why I’ve come to accept it.”
“Accept what?”
“Various things.”
Shia lightly poked my shoulder and stepped back to create some distance between us. Then, with another faint smile, she turned back to the cutting board and said:
“Nico probably tried really hard today, so be extra nice to her, Simon-san. Hard workers should be rewarded, after all.”
Without looking at me, she continued cutting vegetables while essentially saying “praise Nico.”
Hearing this, I paused skimming the pot and leaned in to look at Shia’s face. She seemed a bit surprised.
“I see… Yeah, I will. But,”
“…Eh!?”
“You’ve been training hard every day too, right? If hard workers should be rewarded, then you deserve a reward too.”
I gently patted her soft, silky white head as if spoiling her. Perhaps she had taken a bath before coming here; her hair was slightly damp and warm.
“I’ll make ice cream for everyone who worked hard today. It’s a bit troublesome so I don’t usually do it, but this is special, okay?”
It’s been a while since I’ve done something like this for Shia. I couldn’t see her face as she’s looking down.
But her long ears twitching slightly tell me that Shia didn’t dislike it. So I ruffled her bright red head more firmly.
“Stop it, stop…”
“Hahaha, no way.”
