Chapter 7 Let’s examine the inside of this room
Even so… I never imagined that everything could be solved with words.
Words, so invincible.
An unbelievable sense of omnipotence.
…As long as you don’t misuse them.
I wondered if I could even fly, but it seems I can’t do things I’ve never seen or experienced.
Perhaps it’s based on “understanding the principles”…
Certainly, I’ve never seen a person flying, and I don’t understand the principles of how it’s done.
Maybe it’s “based on empirical knowledge.”
But for now, I don’t need to be able to do such things.
“…I might be able to live here…”
There’s food and water.
I can conjure them.
Medical supplies, daily necessities, all sorts of living essentials.
And I can also take care of the garbage.
I can even create fire and secure light.
…The challenge is whether I can find a place to live and coexist with the people of this world.
“…The fact that this cabin exists means there are people who can create it.”
The table and chairs are just the right size for me, with a height of 174 centimeters, as I sit down.
The size of the people in this world is probably similar.
I wonder what’s inside this shelf?
I open it through the top-opening doors.
There are several bottles and perhaps some dishes.
The glass of the bottles is opaque, and they seem to have more impurities than those in Japan.
There are air bubbles inside.
Many have stoppers made of something like cork.
Some are covered with what appears to be tanned leather held together by strings.
There are no labels, so I can’t tell what’s inside.
“It’s a bit scary to open them…”
If there were bugs or something inside, I might cry…
Besides, the top of the shelf is covered in dust and mold, and I don’t want to touch it.
“Right, let’s give it a try.”
I wrote “Indoor Purification and Disinfection” on a piece of paper and dropped it onto the floor.
“Wow! It got clean!”
The dust and dirt vanished completely, leaving everything, even inside the cupboard, spotless.
Though, I didn’t touch the bottles, of course.
Because, bugs would be gross!
Opening the lower doors, most of the shelves were empty, but something had fallen.
“This… sheepskin parchment, maybe? It’s covered in what looks like writing!”
Calligraphy was born out of the need to pack as much information as possible onto precious sheepskin parchment back in those times.
A skill of writing beautifully, even with small characters and dense arrangements, so they remain readable.
That’s the essence of calligraphy.
Seeing sheepskin parchment like this, there’s no way my excitement wouldn’t rise!
“These are characters I’ve never seen before…”
They don’t resemble any of the characters I know on Earth.
…If I were to insist, they look like a fusion of Phoenician and runic scripts.
I wonder what’s written… something like “I want to read it,” maybe?
“…What if I can read it?”
I had an idea.
I wrote, “The holder of this paper can translate all languages,”
and holding onto that paper, I looked at the sheepskin parchment.
“I can read it! The words are being translated into Japanese!”
