Calligrapher’s beautiful character life in another world ~Daily life matchless with collection and character magic? ~
Chapter 6 Let’s find out more
When you write a name, it actually appears… It’s almost like magic.
“… It might truly be magic.”
I don’t quite understand it, but let’s go with that.
After all, it’s a different world.
Of course, you could conjure things other than just food.
However, unfamiliar things wouldn’t materialize.
If you could write the exact name of an item, even if you didn’t know it, it would appear.
Yet, sometimes, even if the shape was correct, the item would be incredibly small or too tough to eat.
“Is it that things I’ve never touched or eaten before won’t work?”
This was the result of experiments with a food encyclopedia from a collection and an online product catalog.
It seems it’s not only about the shape, but also the size, texture, and even taste that need to be understood.
What about living creatures… Can they appear?
I can’t conjure strange things…
If it’s something that doesn’t exist in this world, it might disrupt the ecosystem.
Imagining a fish swimming in a river, I wrote down “ayu” (sweetfish).
…It didn’t appear.
Well, to be precise, it didn’t appear “alive.”
“Come to think of it, I’ve only seen it at fish markets…”
But trying mammals would be too dangerous, and insects… not appealing.
Let’s avoid living things for now.
For the time being, let’s grill the sweetfish.
What a waste.
Is this phenomenon of words becoming reality limited to physical objects only?
Can it bring about changes in phenomena or states too?
Let’s try writing “fire.”
Poof.
A small flame about the size of the letters appeared and vanished.
Perhaps because the letters burned up and disappeared.
Using a permanent marker, write “water.”
Even if it gets wet, the letters won’t disappear, so neither does the water.
Place a paper with the words “vanish” onto the water.
…It doesn’t disappear.
What vanished was the paper.
Let’s put it into words.
“Water that touches this paper, vanish.”
Once the paper is inserted, the water disappeared.
Where the vanished water went remains unknown.
“I thought if I could make garbage disappear, but it might just be moving to another place,”
If that’s the case, it’s no different from littering.
“Is it possible to break down things into harmless substances and make them vanish?”
I wrote “Break down into something harmless to living beings before disappearing” on a potato chip bag.
The way it disappeared this time is different.
When the water touched the paper with the writing, it vanished instantly, leaving nothing behind.
This garbage disintegrated like mist… and vanished.
If it merely goes to another place, but harmlessly, maybe I can be forgiven.
“But, using this wrongly could lead to disastrous consequences.”
By writing, anything can become real.
With the variety of writing tools I have, I can write on almost anything.
“I wonder… Could I even write ‘death’ on a living being and cause it to die?”
I’m not sure if I can change the state of a living being.
To try it… No, I guess I can try it?
Without breaking, erasing, or killing… can I “heal”?
I wrote “Wounds touched by this paper, heal” and touched the paper to a scrape.
Gently removing the paper… the scrape was completely healed.
