Beyond The Bad End - Chapter 24 ~END
Chapter 24
Nana Kataoka’s POV
It’s been three years since the last time I returned to Japan. I’m now taking a detour before going to my parent’s house.
Manpukuken.
This is my favourite Chinese restaurant, I often went here during my high school years, college years, and until I started working abroad.
The third-generation owner of this restaurant is my close friend. Thanks to this friend, I was able to pursue my dream job as an interpreter.
Actually, I’m keeping my return to Japan a secret this time.
Haru-chi is always a calm and stoic person.
So came up with this mischievous plan because I really want to see his surprised face.
Standing in front of the restaurant, the delicious smell that tempts my appetite can be smelled.
The restaurant has not changed at all.
The red curtain is very nostalgic, it brings back memories.
As I slide open the wooden door with a rattling sound, the lively noise inside the restaurant can be heard.
When I enter the restaurant,
“Welcome!”
I am greeted by the owner’s wife cheerful voice.
“Ah! Nana-chan!”
“Chiisu! Long time no see, Maki-chan!”
“Long time no see! You look great!”
“Maki-chan! Your belly! A second child!?”
“Ufufufu. That’s right!”
“And this little girl over here, could it be, Aki-chan? She has grown up! Isn’t she four years old now? She exactly looks like you, Maki-chan!”
“Yeah, she has grown up, hasn’t she? She is in kindergarten already.”
“Uwaa~ You were really small the last time I saw you.”
“Ara ara! I thought I heard a commotion, but isn’t it you, Nana-chan”
“Natsumi-san! You look young as ever!”
“What are you talking about! I’m a grandmother now.”
While me, Maki-chan and Natsumi-san are noisily enjoying ourselves. A stoic man comes out from the kitchen.
“Hey Kataoka. Welcome back.”
“I’m back! Wait a minute, you don’t seem surprised at all, Haru-chi.”
“No, I’m really surprised. Your nails got shorter Kataoka. Have you stopped going hunting?”
“I never went hunting! I never use my nails to hunt!”
“So, what can I get you?”
“It’s been three years since the last time we met each other you know? You should be more excited! Oh well, I’ll get the Gyoza, Karaage and fried rice!”
“Sure thing. Ordering Karaage means you’ve stopped worrying about your weight, haven’t you?”
“Hey! You’re still as rude as ever!”
