Betraying My Perfect and Beautiful Childhood Fiancée, I Fell in Love With My Devilish and Naughty Older Sister - Chapter 12 - Dinner Party
Chapter 12 – Dinner Party
I couldn’t forget the moment we kissed, and my heart was pounding.
After that, I got out of the bathroom to escape.
Chiharu-senpai likes me? That’s just too sudden.
Even though she said we’ve met before, I don’t remember it.
Besides…
I can still vividly remember the feel of her soft body and lips.
Tonight, I’m going to sleep in the same bed as Chiharu-senpai and Shiho.
When that happens, I don’t have the confidence to keep my composure.
But before that, there is the Hashiro family dinner.
The whole family eats together.
However, those who are not at home on that day are excluded. For example, my biological sister, Hashiro Hazuki, is studying in the UK for a short time, so naturally she cannot attend.
I entered the room with a magnificent chandelier.
The red table mats stand out. All members except Chiharu-senpai were already seated at the long table.
Shiho sits at the very end of the table because she is an adopted daughter in a weak position.
Conversely, the head of the family, Hashiro Tomohito, is at the front of the table. He is my father. He is still young, in his mid-thirties, but he is tall and dignified looking.
My father was not born into the Hashiro family, but won my mother’s love and took over the family as the son-in-law. He has shown himself worthy of being a head of one of the Five Seasons Households, and the Hashiro household is more prosperous than ever before.
I sit on the left side, to my father’s left. Directly opposite is my mother, Fumika. Fumika is the same age as my father, but she looks to be in her early twenties.
It’s strange for me to say this as a son, but she’s incredibly beautiful. She has a great style and a face as good as a beautiful actress. In fact, she used to appear on TV like an idol as the Hashiro family’s promotional figure.
“Hayato-kun. You’re late.”
Fumika smiled at me. I apologized, saying, “I’m sorry.”
The conversation naturally turns to chit-chat until the servants bring in the food.
“I heard that Aika-san was in first place in your grade the other day too. Hayato should learn from her.”
That’s what my father said. This is the source of my depression.
I’m being compared to my childhood friend and fiancee, Aika.
Aika is an illegitimate child, so she doesn’t have a prominent position in the Amahashi family. But she is marrying me as a sign of the alliance between the Hashiro and Amahashi families.
Perhaps, if we were to marry, Aika might find herself in a position to lead the Hashiro family. Just like how the Hashiro’s successor, Fumika, entrusted everything to her husband, Tomohito.
Fumika has no complaints about it. Rather, she has adored Tomohito since she was a student. She got engaged to Tomohito in spite of opposition from others.
It must be such a blessing to be loved so much.
“Tomohito-san, you were always first in your school days, weren’t you?”
Fumika whispered sweetly. Fumika is a kind person, and she’s still very attached to my father.
It’s not that she doesn’t love me, but for Fumika, everything in the world revolves around my father—Hashiro Tomohito.
I was about to say, “I’m doing my best too.”
But it’s true that I’m not as good as my father or Aika.
I couldn’t say anything.
But then a girl appeared.
“Isn’t it terrible to compare your son to his fiancee, Father?”
It was Chiharu-senpai who entered the room, saying that in a cheerful voice.
