A few days had passed since the goblin extermination. My life was being treated with a level of care I could never have imagined back when I was a Hero. It was as if I had become a princess straight out of a fairy tale.

In the mornings, Shinon would appear in my room with perfect timing and help me out of bed. For changing clothes, she picked out outfits that (supposedly) maximized my charm and literally dressed me by hand. As for meals, needless to say, they came with a special “aahn” courtesy of Shinon.

“Kazuki-sama, how about this blue vest for today? It will surely bring out your refined charm.”

“Do you really think it suits me that much?”

It was pampering in every sense of the word

I thought to myself when a knock sounded at the door and Celestia came in.

“Good morning. Kazuki-sama, I heard you were studying late into the night with Shinon in the library yesterday. If you’d like, I could give you a massage with healing effects.”

How does she know that? 

Of course, I didn’t even bother asking her about it. Lately, Celestia somehow knew every single detail of my actions. As for Shinon, she even knew when I had snuck a midnight snack while half-asleep.

This almost stalker-like monitoring—no, protective system! It was proof of how deeply they cared about me. Hooray for this gender-role-reversed world!

“Oh, thanks, Celestia—”

I was just about to nod, thinking how much she had changed by taking the initiative to touch me herself, when Shinon cut in between us.

“Celestia-sama… Kazuki-sama’s schedule for this week is supposed to be under my full supervision. You may rest assured, as his exclusive maid, I will massage him myself.”

“That was indeed the arrangement… In exchange, next week I’ll be in charge of his meals and other matters. That’s acceptable, isn’t it?”

“Yes. And I would also ask that Celestia-sama advance that plan as soon as possible. I’ve heard there are already people trying to interfere…”

When we entered the city, Shinon linked her arm around mine as if it were the most natural thing in the world, all while keeping alert of our surroundings. The softness pressed against me carried a determination that said she would never let go. My heart skipped a beat.

“Incredible, Shinon. You’re like my personal bodyguard.”

“Bodyguard…? I don’t quite understand the word. But protecting you is, of course, my duty.”

Without changing her usual expression, Shinon pressed herself even closer. The distance between us was noticeably smaller than yesterday. Each time we passed through a crowd, her supple body brushed against me, and a sweet fragrance tickled my nose.

Shinon looked at me curiously.

“Kazuki-sama, are you looking for something?”
