Chapter 52: Don’t Try This at Home, Kids

“Hello. This is Ken from Ken-Channel. Today, I’m going into the dungeon to search for new ingredients for the first time in a while.”

Thanks to Mao Osaka, I had a little more time on my hands. Truly. Having a wonderful part-timer like her really saved me from a lot of things. And so, I decided to head to a certain dungeon to find new ingredients for my restaurant. 

〈So does that mean the current limited items are going to be removed from the menu?〉

〈I thought he’s going to turn it into a permanent menu?〉

〈Really?〉

“Yeah, that’s right. The High Orc and Minotaur hamburg set is going to become a permanent menu due to so many requests. As for the other limited-time menu item like the honey mustard grilled chicken set, I’m still considering whether to turn it into a permanent menu or not.”

By the way, I had another regular hamburg set that wasn’t meant to be a limited menu like the High Orc and Minotaur hamburg set, but I had to remove it from the menu because people kept mistaking the two hamburg sets. Also, no one wanted to buy the regular hamburg set when the High Orc and Minotaur hamburg set was still available. 

“As for the crab set and banana curry, those two will be temporarily discontinued once we run out of the ingredients we have in hand.”

〈So we won’t be able to eat the crab set anymore…?〉

〈What a tragedy!!〉

〈The banana curry too, huh?〉

〈Well, getting the ingredients for them are quite hard after all.〉

“You’re right. Obtaining the crab and the bananas are quite a hassle.”

High Orc and Minotaur could be hunted in the lower level of the Tachihi Dungeon, specifically from about the 11th floor below. Getting to the 11th floor wouldn’t be difficult and I could also ask Mao Osaka to get them for me too. As for the Cockatrice, Cockatrice started appearing from around the 12th floor and below. The nest of Mad Bees for the honey was located on the 13th floor. Those two were still doable, although they were a bit more troublesome than High Orc and Minotaur. However, for the crab set, I had to hunt the King Death Crab. Which meant, I had to dive down to the 20th floor of the Tachihi Dungeon. The bananas for the banana curry could only be obtained on the 29th floor of the Inokashira Dungeon too. 

“It would take me around 2 to 3 hours to hunt the King Death Crab and I would need around 4 hours to get the bananas from the Inokashira Dungeon. It’s quite troublesome to do it all on my day off since I only have one day off each week.”

〈His day off isn’t really a day off…〉

〈Nishida, you’re working a bit too hard.〉

〈I mean, look at him. He’s livestreaming on his day off.〉

〈No, no. Wait! Normal explorer would need a few days AT LEAST to do all those things he mentioned!〉

〈I know, right? He’s so incredulously fast. LMAO〉

“Anyway, I’m thinking of diving into this certain dungeon right away, but… Do you know which dungeon I’m going to go to now?”

〈I can tell it’s not the usual the Tachihi Dungeon.〉

〈It doesn’t seem to be the Inokashira Dungeon either.〉

In an area that used to be a barbecue area, there was a rugged building. Inside that building was the entrance to the Tamagawa Dungeon. 

“This dungeon is pretty close to Tachikawa. Within a running distance actually. I can have a good warm up before diving into the dungeon.”

〈If Nishida goes all out, he can run for more than 200 km/h.〉

〈That’s right. The weather is getting pretty hot lately. You’d get a heatstroke if you try to run from Tachikawa to Tamagawa.〉

Comments were pouring in from the viewers, so I decided to check into the dungeon for now. I turned off the camera for a bit. 

“Huh? Don’t tell me… Are you Nishida-san?”

I tried to give my explorer certification toward the clerk at the reception desk and the female staff member, widened her eyes at the sight of me. She seemed to be in her mid 20s and she was pretty small. 

“Yeah. I think I’m the Nishida you’re referring to.”

“Wow! I often watch your channel! Ah, right. Today is your livestreaming schedule… But still, I never thought you’d come to the Tamagawa Dungeon! It’s truly an honor to welcome you here!”

〈As expected of Nishida. His popularity is off the charts〉

〈If she’s a staff member from the Dungeon Management Agency, of course she knows who Nishida is.〉

With that, I passed through the dungeon entrance to enter the dungeon. I turned the camera back on now that I had entered the dungeon.

“The Tamagawa Dungeon is classified as a Class 3 dungeon and it has 15 floors in total. As you can see, there are puddles of water scattered all over the paths starting from the first floor.”

The Tamagawa Dungeon was already flooded with waters right on the upper levels and the dungeon was completely submerged the moment you reach the lower level. Because of this, the Tamagawa Dungeon was classified as a Class 3 dungeon. This dungeon was considered to be extremely challenging to navigate. Of course, many monsters that appeared in this dungeon were aquatic in nature. And so, it should be easy to guess what kind of ingredients I was aiming for. 

“I’m thinking of finding a lot of delicious fish in this dungeon.”

〈So you’re going to add a fish based set meal?〉

〈Maybe a seafood bowl?〉

〈I like grilled fish.〉

〈Fish simmered in soy sauce sounds great too.〉

〈By the way, how is he going to fight the underwater monsters?〉

〈This is Nishida we’re talking about. I’m sure he can do it just fine.〉

T/N: The distance from Tachikawa to Tamagawa is 1 hr 14 min (49,8 km). I mean, it’s run-able but definitely not a ‘warm up’.
