I ended the livestream just before we returned to the surface by using the teleportation portal.

Koto seemed to believe the things I just said in front of my viewers. She asked me that with a surprised look on her face.

It was impossible to acquire the same skill twice, so this skill book wouldn’t have any use in my hands.

Miku Kanamoto was talking about the stealth skill book we obtained after defeating the boss of the Tachihi Dungeon. I had given the skill book to her and it seemed she had acquired the skill without fail. 

“Sometimes, you can fail at getting the skill even after using the book. If Koto can’t acquire the skill after using the book, then Kanamoto can have it afterward.”

“I-I understand, but still… A skill book that is worth billions… Someone like me…”

“What are you talking about? Koto, your life is priceless. No amount of money can justify your life.”

I declared without any hesitation. No matter how much money the book was worth, my precious niece’s life was far more valuable.

Miku Kanamoto murmured resolve. Now that she had gathered her resolve, Koto then opened the first page of the skill book.

Almost immediately, a bright light burst from within. The pages began flipping automatically at high speed. It looked like she was able to acquire the skill. The book wouldn’t let out any light if it was a failure. The content of the book would’ve turned out blank. 

Eventually, the book came to its final page. The book closed shut and the light also faded away.

“You might have gained few other skills when you levelled up too. You should get yourself appraised again after we’re back on the surface.”

Checking your own status wasn’t as easy as in the game. You needed to ask someone who had the ‘Appraisal’ skill to check it for you. Appraisal skill had levels too. You would need to pay a decent amount of money to get a detailed result. But, you could get a basic appraisal at the local Dungeon Management Agency for a low sum of money. 

Thinking back… I realized I hadn’t gotten an appraisal in years. I doubted my status had changed much since then, but it had been so long since I got an appraisal that I couldn’t remember my status either. Maybe I should get myself appraised too someday.
