Chapter 33: There’s No Use in Hiding

I dashed through the deep forest as fast as I could while slashing down the trees and monsters that obstructed my path one after another. I ran straight for the stairs.

My leg was being wrapped by a thread. However, the thread was nearly invisible to the naked eye. It was an incredibly hidden thread. On top of that, the thread was so tough to prevent its prey from tearing it through. A normal weapon wouldn’t be able to cut it.

“And the main body is… Over there.”

The thread’s owner had an incredibly advanced stealth technique, but nothing could escape my detection range. I turned toward the direction of the thread’s owner that was still laying in wait.

“There’s no use in hiding.”

The thing that came out of hiding was a massive spider monster with the upper body of a young woman and the lower body of a spider. It was an Arachne Queen. Though the Arachne Queen seemed to be floating in midair, but she was actually walking on transparent threads. A monster that possesses high intelligence, high stealth skill and highly advanced threads technique. Arachne Queen was far more dangerous than a mere Queen Tarantula. Under normal circumstances, monsters this dangerous would only appear deeper underground, around the 40th floor or beyond.

“Right. I was instructed to bring back a spider queen’s silk glands. I’m not sure if this one qualifies as one, but I might as well bring it back with me.”

While being cautious of the invisible threads spreading all around me, I approached the Arachne Queen. The upper half of the woman’s body let out her final shrieking scream.
