The fierce battle was still raging in  Goryokaku Park.  A few minutes after Ryuuga Takahashi rushed in to support, a reinforcement team from Sapporo also arrived. Among them were several A-rank explorers, and thanks to their presence, they were currently able to completely suppress the overflow of monsters.

“Haa.. Haa… Th-thanks to my efforts… Phew… Things have finally started to settle down… Haa Haa… I-I think I’ll take a short break…!”

It had three heads, like those of a wolf or dog. Its body was muscular and humanoid, walking on two legs, while its tail was a massive serpent baring its fangs.

It was indeed Cerberus, the boss monster that was supposed to be waiting on the 40th and deepest floor of the Goryokaku Dungeon.

All three heads let out a simultaneous roar, and the overwhelming pressure left the explorers speechless.

At its feet were also monsters from the deep layers—possibly brought along by the boss.

“No way… It’s too soon… The boss is already here!?”

The boss had appeared far earlier than expected, and Ryuuga Takahashi’s face twisted in disbelief.

Right then, the deep level monsters surged forward. The dungeon entrance was located in a triangular zone surrounded by a moat, known as the Demilune Fort. Currently, the explorers had established their front line on the opposite bank of the moat, so any monster would have to cross the water to reach them.

But the deep level monsters were all massive. The moat, designed to keep humans out, posed no obstacle to them whatsoever.

“Gh… I’m not running! I’ll fight until reinforcements arrive…!”

Declaring so, Ryuuga Takahashi hit a deep-layer monster that had just leapt from the moat with his electrically charged sword.
