Chapter 2.2: Double Stalker by an S-Class Beauty and a Senior Young Lady
No sooner had they converged than the two of them started arguing.
It was a scene I had witnessed countless times since last year.
“I have no recollection of giving you to Tendo.”
“I have no recollection of handing him over either!”
I had no recollection of being handed to anyone.
“Anyway, why are you still at school? You graduated last year, right!?”
“Do not make me repeat myself. I repeated on purpose.”
“Huh…? Are you okay in the head…?”
“I would not take that from you.”
If I had to say, they were both at fault.
–I had just held an umbrella over Raimu.
–I had just given Yami-senpai a bit of help last summer.
Both were trivial incidents, yet they clung to them with abnormal obsession.
I would never even consider dating either of them.
“By the way, what do you want, Tendo? I am in the middle of something right now.”
“There is no reason needed to go see the person I love!”
“You have the lines down pat, at least. Well, I agree with that.”
“Right!?”
Do not bond over that. Please…
“More importantly, how did you know where I was? My smartphone is in the classroom.”
“Of course it is because we are connected by the red string of fate! No matter where we are, we are drawn to each other!”
That was terrifying…
“You are careless too, Kaname. Feel the nape of your uniform.”
“Ew…”
Tendo let out a spasming kind of voice at senpai’s comment.
Ew. Such an obvious reaction.
I did as told and reached around, and a small, hard sensation ran across my fingertips.
“So, what is this?”
I grabbed it from the fabric and looked down.
It was a round device like a battery.
From her reaction, there was no doubt Tendo had planted it. Probably a tracker.
“A small smart tracker, I suppose. A handy item for preventing loss.”
Senpai answered my question.
“In other words, there is no red string of fate between you and Kaname. Drawn to each other? Do not be ridiculous, you stalker.”
“That is not it! I just want to always know where Kaname is!”
“This is hopeless. I do not know if a restraining order applies between high schoolers, but Kaname, let me go with you to file a police report. Are you free tonight?”
“Sure, whatever. I am used to it by now.”
It was easier to give up.
I had learned that last year.
“Getting used to being the victim of a crime is not a good thing, I think.”
“It is not a crime; it is an expression of love! Stop phrasing it so weirdly!”
Yami-senpai let out a sigh of exasperation at Tendo’s outburst.
“Kaname, if you hang around a woman like this, even your own reputation will come into question.”
“It already has. Over this past year, my reputation has hit rock bottom.”
“How unfortunate. In that case, let me restore your reputation for you.”
“How?”
“By dating me. Talented and beautiful, with striking features. If you become the boyfriend of the former student council president who had such a great reputation, your stock will soar. You will hit the daily limit up the next day.”
I did not want a relationship where someone used another person’s status as an accessory.
I told her as much.
“Repeating a year means you are no longer talented and beautiful.”
“I was top of my grade three years in a row, though?”
Oh, right. This person was ridiculously smart. Despite her head being messed up.
Why had she repeated, then…?
Had she deliberately skipped enough days?
“Anyway! Kaname is mine! I will not give him to anyone!”
Tendo sat down to my left.
She grabbed my left arm without hesitation.
Her grip was strong.
“Kaname is not an object, though.”
“Then I will be Kaname’s object! That works, right!?”
“Of course not.”
Now Yami-senpai sat down to my right.
Unlike Tendo, she hesitated a bit before grabbing my right arm.
Her grip was strong too.
“Rest easy, Kaname. I will protect you. From dangerous people like Tendo.”
“No matter how you look at it, you are the dangerous one, Yami-senpai!”
“Do not lump me in with you. I am a gentleman.”
“What part of stalking a junior by repeating a year is gentlemanly!?”
“I have no choice for the sake of love.”
“It is just stalking!”
They pulled on both my arms, and my body swayed from side to side.
My bento box nearly slipped off my lap.
“Hang on. My bento.”
I tensed my lower body to keep it from sliding off.
I could not let my sister’s handmade bento fall to the ground.
“Kaname! Let’s go home together after school today!”
“Too bad. Kaname already has plans with me.”
“As if! Kaname is going home with me!”
I shook off both their hands and clutched the bento box to protect it.
Good. The contents were a bit shifted, but the tamagoyaki was safe.
Meanwhile, the two of them glared at each other. Sparks flew between them.
“Argh! I thought with you gone, senpai, I could finally have Kaname all to myself! Why are you still at school!?”
“To be by the side of the one I love. Do I need any more reason than that?”
“See? You really are a stalker!”
“I would not take that from you, Tendo.”
What a pointless argument.
Would this drag on for another year? Oh, wait, no—Yami-senpai planned to repeat again next year too, so two more years…
Sigh…
At the very least, I wanted to eat my lunch in peace.

At least they didn’t decide to share
