Aiming to be the perfect butler for my lady - Chapter 94- Preparation
Inside the dimly lit living area, Kyle sat while breathing at an unsteady pace. His eyes remained fixated on nothing constant while sweat accumulated on his head.
Alatia suddenly entered the living area hurriedly. She somehow sensed that there was something wrong with her lover, and she woke up from her slumber.
Looking at his pale complexion she first brought him a glass of water before taking the seat beside him and asking him, “What happened? Did you meet your brother?”
Kyle previously told her that his brother was conspiring something against him and that, Kyle would be investigating her brother soon. Given his current get-up and looking at the wooden mask resting on the table nearby, she discerned that he must have met Stephen.
Kyle took the glass from her hand, and slowly uttered, “Ala….Stephen has joined hands with a Devil.”
“—-! A-Are you sure?” She gasped and hesitantly asked.
Although she didn’t like Stephen since the beginning, even more after hearing that he was plotting against Kyle, still it was a severe declaration that a student was assisting the Hell’s dweller.
Kyle heaved a sigh and covered his mouth before leaning back and replying, “I have seen him from a breath away. I have sensed his presence and it was anything but human.”
Taking a pause, Kyle added, “Possibly Stephen also has turned into a demon by now.”
Alatia’s complexion was not good, after hearing that. The very thought of Kyle being near a Devil sent a chill down her spine. She wanted to say something about his rash actions but now wasn’t the time.
“Did they recognize you?” She asked; a tinge of fret laced in her voice.
Kyle pondered for a moment before responding, “Possibly, they would join the dots and discern that I am someone close to the Princess, given I used teleportation and wore a wooden mask when I returned from the labyrinth and when I appeared before them.”
Alatia was experiencing shortness of breath because of anxiety. A Devil was now aware of the fact that his identity was related to someone close to her. They would surely now target Kyle.
“Should we take the Headmaster’s help?” Anxiously, she asked.
However, Kyle shook his head before saying, “That man would start questioning us rather than focusing on the main matter. Most probably he would discern that I was the masked man, and then, game over.” Kyle narrated.
“Then what should we do?” Alatia grabbed his hand and asked in an impatient voice.
Kyle suddenly realized something. His mistake, to be precise.
He relaxed his shoulders before turning his gaze towards her. Delicately holding her hand, he asked, “Do you trust me?”
“I do, but-”
“Then leave everything to me. I know it won’t be easy for us to cross this obstacle, but we have already prepared ourselves to face anything that comes across, right?” His words brought a gradual calmness to her heart.
She didn’t know how Kyle always said the perfect thing to calm her down but just like always, she quieted down and while biting her lower lip, she nodded,
“Until we are together, yes…we can face anything.”
Kyle softly kissed her head before whispering, “And if things look awry, then I will just call your brother for help.”
Alatia chuckled, recalling the artifact that Aiden gave to Kyle.
Suddenly Kyle got up from the chair and told her, “I am going to ask Professor Clara’s help. I will just make some random excuse and given how innocent she is, she might help us out.”
“Then, I am also-” Alatia was about to stand up but Kyle pressed his hand against her shoulders and told her, “Not you, Ala. For the whole night, you have to accumulate your Divine Energy. Remember what master taught you?”
Alatia frowned, and Kyle answered her unasked question, “Tomorrow, the whole school night get invaded and the only person I can’t bear to see getting hurt is you. So start accumulating so you can be prepared.”
Alatia accepted that what he was saying was possible, but still, she was reluctant to let Kyle and Clara meet alone.
…but creating trouble at times like these was not wise, so she reluctantly nodded, “Alright…but don’t take any risks and return to me if it becomes dangerous.”
Kyle chuckled before rubbing her small head and assuring her, “I will follow your words, my lady.”
And in the next instance, he disappeared.
Alatia looked at the place where previously his wooden mask was resting, but now there was nothing placed there. Heaving a sigh, she couldn’t help but mutter under her breath,
‘Why does life have to be so dramatic for the two of us?’
(A/N:- Because you two are the main leads?)

Kyle teleported just in front of the teacher’s block. Naturally, after spending almost a month here, he had learned the basic structure and learned surroundings of specific places.
He instantly leaped into a corner and checked if someone was there. Around the teacher’s block, there generally doesn’t remain much security since every instructor and professor are high-ranked warriors. Well, most of them are. That’s why human resources are used to safeguard the students rather than the instructors.
Using Beta, Kyle checked the surroundings and found there was no trap or artifact that could alert the school about him. Although there were two security guards on the west side—the same side where Clara’s room was located—Kyle knew he would manage.
He couldn’t have climbed the stairs since inside, there was a chance that he might end up alerting someone. That’s why he climbed the building and used the ledges to crawl his way toward his destination.
He had to stop at various points because of the security guards, and since the process required him to remain soundless, it took him quite a bit of time to reach the window that gave him access to Clara’s room.
However, the moment he climbed inside, he froze up and his eyes widened.
“What the fuck….” Standing inside her lab, which was filled with the smell of potions, Kyle stared at the figure of two women in front.
One of them, to whom this lab belonged, was pinned down on the ground while a familiar brunette was currently keeping Clara pressed down.
Clara saw Kyle and instantly shouted, “Kyle! Save me! She is trying to kill me!”
Charlotte, who was looking at Kyle in shock, suddenly had a look of horror when she heard the woman suddenly flipping her demeanor.
Charlotte instantly got up and tried to clarify, “Don’t believe in her-”
“I know.” Kyle stopped Charlotte before crouching down and taking the hairpin from Clara’s hand—making the violette’s body stiff in realization.
“Before trying to play the victim card, you should have gotten rid of it.” Throwing away the hairpin which was coated with Charlotte’s blood, he stood back up.
Clara also got up and stood with her hands joined and her head leaning down. Charlotte had a similar stance.
Kyle assessed the two and found both of them had received some fresh wounds, possibly from the little skirmish they had created in the lab.
After a pause, he asked, “So? Why were you guys fighting?”
Charlotte and Clara glanced at each other before the latter slowly uttered, “F-For you…”
“…”

A/N:- Don’t lie, Kyle, you wanted to hear that! Hahahah! I wonder what would have happened if Alatia had also tagged along.
