Because destroying the Spirit Forest is severely penalized in the kingdom, now Itchi is being chased by the royal court spirit users.

As I was fuming at the people on the thread, I suddenly had to leap to the side to dodge a chain of wind that came flying at me from behind as I left the busy street. 

Thanks to escaping into a grassy field rather than a paved road, falling to the ground didn’t hurt as much.

But what I dodged into was not a hunter but a water spirit user. 

[Water Prison!]

A fairy-like spirit made of water sat on the shoulder of the spirit user, lending its power, which made the water prison flying towards me unusually powerful.

A flying prison, what’s that even about? I don’t even understand what I’m saying.

“Contractor, jump to the left.”

“Huh? O-okay! I trust you!?”

“Yes, you can trust me.”

Guided by the whisper of a miniaturized Hecate right next to my ear, I jumped to the left. 

And then—what? There’s no ground?

Right where I jumped, the ground that was just beneath me vanished, revealing a deep-looking pond about 30 meters down.

And obviously, since humans can’t flap their wings and fly like birds…

“Fly, fly, fly, flyflyflyflyflyflyflyfly aaaaahhhhhhh!?”

“Kuku…Fuahaha… That’s what you get for badmouthing me in the carriage, My Contractor.”

I plummeted straight down, following gravity. Next to me, Hecate laughed cheerfully. I really wanted to punch that smile off her face!

I’ve been influenced by a certain scoundrel to truly believe in gender equality, so I wouldn’t hesitate to punch anyone in the face, even if they are a woman. 

Well, not that I could actually punch her right now.

“Just you wait, you damn witch!!”

“Heh, try if you can.”

Cursing Hecate till the very end, I ended up diving into the pond. 

Of course—I got caught.
