After rebirth, I confessed to the losing heroine - Chapter 98- Warning
It took time, well a lot but finally Hiroto was able to calm her down. She wailed and complained while Hiroto listened to her patiently and did his best to comfort her.
The best thing about luxurious cars is the space they provide. Hiroto was able to lie down comfortably with his Hime snuggled close to him. The comfort he found with her in his arms was inexplicable. Hugging her soft and warm body always brings his heart to peace. It was an intoxicating sensation.
“Were you watching the news?” While they remained intimately attached, with Miyuki’s face pressed against his chest, he asked her in a whisper.
His hand slowly ran through her beautiful silver hair like he was petting a small animal who was left alone at home while the others went on a trip.
“I couldn’t or…I would have tried infiltrating…” Hiroto chuckled upon hearing that. While he knew how dreadful it would have been for Miyuki to enter the school when the terrorists were still there, he still felt it was amusing how absurd her thoughts could be. But well, not like he wouldn’t have done the same if he had been in her place.
“Hiro-kun…you remember the promise, right?” She looked at him with an upturned gaze. Those eyes contained uncertainty yet determination.
“I will….but why are you taking out that knife all of a sudden?” She has a small pocket knife which Hiroto had discovered a while ago when he embraced her. But until now he didn’t find the necessity to ask about it…until now that is, when she suddenly began to pull it out.
Miyuki’s voice held no hesitation as she said, “I will slit my wrist if you deny it now.”
Hiroto shook his head in amusement. She really is something else.
He slowly took the knife away despite her protest as he assured her, “Don’t worry, I won’t let you take such extreme measures. Once we return, I will tell you everything.”
Hiroto had already decided that he wouldn’t hide anything from her anymore—even if her perception of him changed. The things he has done and the things he had to do would further hurt her if he decided to keep everything a secret.
While Miyuki was honest and loyal in this relationship, he wasn’t. But now, no more hiding.
Miyuki smiled in glee as she rubbed her face on him and giggled happily.
The short ride came to an end before the Shirogane mansion. Hiroto got the message from his parents that they are also coming there.
Hiroto stepped out of the car and kept the door open for her. However, Miyuki didn’t step down rather extended her arms with her eyes becoming round like a child.
With a smile, he helplessly shook his head and crouched down a little to scoop the girl in his arms.
“Fufu~You are wrapped around my finger, Hiro-kun.” She whispered while she traced his jawline with her finger.
Hiroto just smiled while looking forward and safely carried his princess inside the mansion.
The security guards gave a look of admiration for the couple while the maids waiting for them at the entrance squealed in awe.
Miyuki kept her arms wrapped around his neck and her eyes never leaving his handsome profile. She just couldn’t get enough of him.
Just as they entered inside, Hiroto’s expression shifted upon seeing a familiar foreigner girl standing just opposite them while leaning her butt on the sofa.
*Dhak*
Strangely his feet made an audible sound just as he stepped inside.
Hiroto paused and looked down at Miyuki, only to find her smile still stretching her beautiful lips and body completely unmoving. He turned to look at the maids and found them frozen at their spots as well.
He looked back at the Goddess who was currently playing the role of Miyuki’s cousin, before he asked her, “Stopping time just to chat with me? You give me a lot of importance, Goddess.” He walked towards the sofa before gently laying his Hime on it.
“I had to. I can’t wait to express my feelings.” With an excited smile and while hopping on her feet like a little kid, she chimed.
Hiroto planted a soft kiss on Miyuki’s head before he stood back up and turned to face her, “I did what I was required to do. After all, you won’t think twice before booking a return ticket for me, right?”
“That…I surely will.” Without a moment of hesitation, she responded.
For once Hiroto wanted to try his luck and see if the Goddess was mortal and if she bleeds. If she falls dead then Hiroto would no longer have to stick with Yuichi and stick his nose in every matter that concerns the Protagonist.
“Tu-tu-tu, you can’t have such sinister thoughts for a deity~” While rhythmically moving her index finger from left to right, said with smugness.
There was no surprise she heard his inner voice, so he moved on with the matter, “If you are not aware then know this,” Showing her the artefact she gave him last time, he added, “Yuichi got traumatized because of your faulty gadget.”
The goddess chuckled before she shook her head and gave him a reality check, “It wasn’t my device’s fault, you are just a broken human being. Naturally, my precious wouldn’t be able to digest everything which an inhumane slaughter machine committed.”
Hiroto had long lost the motivation to get offended by such remarks. He brushed it off since his Hime wasn’t listening.
Hiroto paused before asking her in an uncertain voice, “I am going to tell Miyuki about us…and my past. Will that be okay?”
The Goddess pressed her finger against her chin for a moment before she tilted both sides and said, “Yes..and no.”
Hiroto remained silent and allowed the girl to continue,
“You can tell her about your past but not the fact that this world originally was created out of a game. You just tell her that some deity allowed you to be reborn here and they need you to protect Yuichi or you would die or something.”
Hiroto frowned, “But why not the whole truth?”
“Because, first it would be weird for her to hear that she is a game character and second, your precious Hime might interfere with the future events.”
Hiroto retorted, “But I won’t tell her.”
Her expression turned cold as the Goddess asked, “If she gives you the puppy eyes, will you be able to resist.”
“Yes I…..no.” Hiroto couldn’t lie here. He knew his inner thoughts were exposed to the Goddess.
He has resisted the charm of many things and many people in his last life….but Miyuki? She is irresistible.
“Nice, so go ahead and share your ‘colourful’ past with her and be prepared for the consequences.”
When she said those words with amusement returning to her eyes Hiroto couldn’t help but sigh while feeling slightly troubled.
Indeed, things are going to be dramatic once she hears about his past life.
The Goddess raised her hand, planning to snap her fingers and re-start the time flow, when suddenly she paused and told Hiroto,
“And for the time being, don’t worry about Yu-kyun and enjoy your engagement ceremony~”
