After rebirth, I confessed to the losing heroine - Chapter 97- Angel
It felt like a dream.
The last thing Yuichi remembered was that he got thrashed by the assailants pretty much to the point he thought he would lose consciousness. It was his impulsive decision to lunge at them without thinking twice and in the end, he was beaten black and blue by them.
However, in the next instance, he got up suddenly and started to act like a well-trained assassin who has faced numerous situations like these and killing was like playing an arcade for him. Although Yuichi has seen people getting killed before and he had accidentally killed someone in the past as well, it didn’t mean it was not a big deal for him.
He contacted Hanabi and told her to remain stationed at the building opposite the school, even though Yuichi had decided to not take her help anymore. But well, for a moment, let’s forget about that. How was he able to execute his plans so well? As Hanabi has always told him, Yuichi was not good at secretive missions at all.
Not only was he precise and lethal, he didn’t even show mercy to his opponent. Stabbing until dead, shooting without a moment of hesitation. In the first place, how does Yuichi get to know how to handle guns so well? Last he checked, he missed hitting a stationary car.
This was too much to accept naturally. Yuichi knew there was something off. He couldn’t be this good in killing people and he didn’t want to be either. He seemed so indifferent…so isolated from emotions that it scared him.
That made him think…was it really him who saved everyone?
“What are you talking about? Everyone has seen you doing all that hero stuff. Stop being modest and accept it already.” Hiroto patted his shoulder strongly and praised him—an occurrence that comes once in a million days.
However, even that didn’t lift his spirit as Yuichi shook his head and said, “No Hiro…this can’t be me. The memories I have made me feel it wasn’t me at all.” Turning toward his friend, he asked, “Is it possible that I was made to see those things while the actual rescuer wore a mask of my face and saved everyone? And now I am feeling like I saved them all?”
“Are you an idiot? What do you think this is? Nolan’s movie or something?”
“But still…” With his gaze falling to the ground, Yuichi uttered with a dejected sigh, “It feels too unreal.”
Hiroto remained silent at that and Yuichi kept on looking at nothing particular while his mind reeled back on those incidents he had faced(?).
Suddenly Hiroto got up and knelt before Yuichi, matching his eyes and asking him in a serious tone, “Do you regret saving everyone….me, Kaori, Minami and most importantly, Suzu? Do you regret saving us?”
“Hell no! Why would I…”
“Then why are you making that face that says killing some criminals makes you feel guilty? Not only are you burdening yourself with needless thoughts, you are making your lovers worried as well.”
Hearing his words, Yuichi briefly glanced in their direction and found the group of four including Suzu standing there with a troubled look on their faces.
His gaze aligned with Kaori’s and his heart began to turn heavy. That forced smile she wore to not let her sadness show on her face, broke his heart.
With a sigh, Hiroto got up and held his hand toward Yuichi, “Now forget about what happened for some time and go to them. They need you the most right now.”
Yuichi nodded and took Hiroto’s hand before the latter pulled him.
Yuichi heaved a long breath and smiled at his friend.
“Thanks, man…without you, I might someday end up losing the people close to me.”
With those words, they bid farewell as Hiroto kept his eyes on the retreating back of his friend.
‘Well, without me you definitely have lost many things.” With a shake of his head, Hiroto uttered under his breath.
Although he was joking about things, Hiroto was quite concerned right now regarding Yuichi. The Protagonist seemed traumatized and doubted himself.
This was not good….the murders Hiroto committed were not something Yuichi could have ever mustered to partake in with such fluency. While his plan was flawless for the most part, Hiroto overlooked the psychological factor.
‘I think I need to meet her again…’ Deciding to meet the Goddess again, he decided to leave the school.
Outside a sobbing couple waited for him.
Seeing Hiroto making his way out of the crowd, Akiko jumped to embrace him.
“Easy there, mum. I am fine now.” He held her before she could end up throwing them on the street.
“Waaaaa…..Hiiiirooooo!” She wailed aloud but no one looked at her weirdly since she wasn’t the only one. Many parents whose children got caught in the incident were wailing and sobbing after reuniting with their children.
His father’s eyes were clouded with tears as well, while he stood a few meters away and wiped the moisture off his eyes. Seeing a woman cry was not a rare occurrence, but when you see your father cry, you should know how serious of a matter it must be.
Hiroto slowly raised his hand and held his father’s hand in assurance. The older Takeda squeezed his son’s hand and finally, he felt at ease.
The two have nearly lost their child and that pain was not something any parents could ever bear to face.
Although Hiroto was new to this familial relationship, at that moment he also felt quite emotional.
These two have become really important to him without him realizing it.

After the emotional reunion, Hiroto decides to take his parents back home since around the school, it was still quite chaotic.
However, when he looked at his phone to find a cab, he found all the taxis in the area had turned off their services—for obvious reasons.
He was about to say that they should walk back home when suddenly a black Mercedes stopped before them and two people stepped out.
“Shirogane-san?” Ryuuske exclaimed seeing Souma in person exiting the car followed by his wife.
Yuki walked forward and embraced Hiroto with tears rolling down her cheeks. Akiko’s tears returned seeing them as she silently sobbed at one side.
“I am glad that Hiroto is safe,” Souma said with his shoulders evidently relaxing. He was in a meeting when he heard the news and immediately returned home. However knowing that crowding around the school would only worsen things, they only arrived when students were allowed to leave.
“Yuichi-kun has become an angel for many parents like us today,” Ryuuske said with a sense of gratification in his voice. Souma shared the thought.
Hiroto didn’t say anything about that and once he assured the two mothers once again, that he was completely fine, he peeked inside the car.
Yuki smiled at that before she silently whispered, “She is inside. Go meet her.”
Hiroto smiled at her back before nodding.
Hiroto slowly walked towards the car, barely controlling his excitement to see his Hime before he looked inside and found her sitting there.
He was suddenly reminded of the same Miyuki whom he saw way back when she came to return the ring after their engagement was cancelled. The aloofness and indifference she carried at that time and right now were quite similar.
‘She is totally mad…’
“Are you planning to stand there the whole day?” Hearing her words, he obediently climbed in and closed the door.
“Drive.” Hearing the command, the car began to move.
Since there were two more cars Hiroto wasn’t worried about how the others would return.
He silently sat there and she also didn’t say anything.
Hiroto wasn’t nervous while facing the terrorist who carried weapons but he was anxious around the only person who could influence his emotions without even saying anything.
‘Haah…’ Finally deciding that it was too much of a torture, he turned his eyes toward her and immediately his eyes widened.
With her shoulders trembling and her nose turned red, tears rained down her jewel-like eyes.
“Miyuki? Why?” Hiroto panicked.
“Why? Why? Why? Just why do you have to do this?” She suddenly turned towards him and all her frustration, concern and anxiety burst out.
Hiroto didn’t react when she held his collar but what worried him was her condition. It seems even after he already told her what he would be doing, it didn’t lessen her worries.
He slowly encircled his hand around her back and pulled her in an embrace.
She protested, pushed him and even hit him but nothing worked against Hiroto.
Yielding to his persistence she finally clutched his shirt and began to wail out loud.
For the second time, in just two days, Hiroto has made her cry.
God, he deserves hell after death.
