After rebirth, I confessed to the losing heroine - Chapter 89- Traitor
There was a certain tension between the three girls who traveled with Yuichi back home.
Although Minami wasn’t a part of the class, she knew everything that happened today and also she confirmed from Kaori that Suzu and Yuichi were indeed childhood buddies.
Now the dilemma arises; how would Yuichi handle this situation?
The wild and untamed childhood friend of his, whom he used to think of as a boy, was actually a girl and now she seemed to be more clingy than she was in the past. It didn’t help that despite knowing Kaori and Minami were in a relationship with Yuichi, she didn’t show any sign of backing off at all.
At that moment, Yuichi walked in the middle while Suzu was on his left, Minami on his right, and Kaori beside Minami. Suzu had fought for her spot and Kaori yielded since she didn’t want to elevate his worries.
At times of crisis, Yuichi could only turn to look at his only dependable lifeline—Hiroto.
However, he was so busy talking to his girlfriend, that he completely ignored his best friend.
Traitor—Yuichi cried in his heart.
“By the way Yu-chan…would you mind if I come to your house? I want to talk about the past. A lot.” The way her unenthusiastic face adopted an excited smile, just made him dazed, to the point he was about to nod in assent.
However, “No can do, Suzu-san. You should know that Yu-kun lives alone and visiting a boy’s place while you are not in a relationship with him is a no-go.” Minami’s immediate rejection irked Suzu.
However, she didn’t yield and after hugging his arm she said, “Who said I am not in a relationship with Yu-chan?”
Minami frowned while Kaori gasped.
“Hey, wait! When did we become a couple?” Yuichi asked as he tried to pull his arm back.
However, Suzu forcibly clung to him and declared, “The bond of friendship is above else, you used to say that, don’t you Yu-chan?”
Yuichi tilted his head upward as he uttered under his breath, “Did I…?”
“So now, as your friend, it’s my right to visit your place. Now let’s go!” She began to pull him towards the station and in tow, Kaori and Minami followed them in a rush.
Hiroto and Miyuki, who have been chatting merrily until now, heaved a sigh seeing the drama unfolding.
“Indecisive men are the worst.” Hiroto heard her scowl and couldn’t help but remember the canon Miyuki for a moment who always hated Yuichi’s harem.
Although they were in this world where polygamy was socially acceptable, Miyuki still had the principle that a person could only love a single person at a time. And there is nothing like sharing one’s love or anything.
Hiroto fondly held her hand, before whispering, “Don’t worry, I would never look at someone other than you.”
“You better not, or I won’t forgive you.” She spoke with a pout, much to tempt him to kiss her right now. However, since there was no alley nearby he restrained himself and escorted Miyuki to her car.
“Come with me, I will drop you home,” Miyuki suggested. She would get some more time to spend with him.
However, “Thanks for the offer but I have to go grocery shopping.”
Miyuki’s shoulders dropped in dejection as she nodded in understanding.
Hiroto glanced at the driver before leaning forward and raising his schoolbag to cover their faces.
Under Miyuki’s confused gaze, Hiroto pecked her lips and softly whispered, “Thank you for becoming my lover.”
Before Miyuki could get over the shock of the sudden reward and comprehended what he said, Hiroto had already pulled away and closed the door.
Just as the car’s engine ignited, Miyuki pressed herself against the window and looked at Hiroto with a pleading gaze. She was so eager to ask him why he said that, that she completely forgot to tell the driver to stop.
Hiroto, with a smile, waved at the girl until the car didn’t disappear from sight.
“Okay then…” The smile from his face instantly faded as he loosened his necktie and decided to confront the matter that needed his immediate attention.
*******
Satomi was usually sad today.
Her friends invited her to karaoke and under usual circumstances, she wouldn’t have rejected them. However, she has a goal in mind that’s why she left the school on time today.
She usually spends time with her friends after school. After all, being a gyaru means she has to maintain an outgoing social life. However, today, she wanted to follow someone and if possible walk back home with him.
For some reason, after what happened recently and also from their previous encounter in the cafe where she works, Satomi has found herself getting attracted to Hiroto.
The way he never seemed fazed by her looks nor cared about her feelings, yet helped her in times of crisis…it just made her feel something for him.
It felt like he was a guardian to her. A warm support who would always be by her side and help her overcome her problems. She knew it was foolish of her to think that way but she couldn’t help it.
Hiroto has become a very important part of her life.
She slowly began to see his charms and noticed how he was different from others.
Despite having looks, brains, and strength, he never boasted about it. Despite his indifferent personality, he helped people in his class and also, assisted Yuichi every time he needed help.
In a way, Hiroto was a much more desirable man than Yuichi, and Satomi couldn’t help but yearn for him.
…however, there was something that she completely forgot to consider when she began to fall for Hiroto. And that was the person named Shirogane Miyuki.
Having multiple partners wasn’t frowned upon by the public and also wasn’t illegal, that’s why Satomi was fine to be his second priority. Until he could give her some of his attention, she would be content.
However, Satomi never considered whether Miyuki would allow her to be a part of this relationship. And sensing the possessiveness Miyuki carried for Hiroto, Satomi realized her chances to get close to Hiroto.
‘Haah…my first love, loves a crazy woman…’ She couldn’t help but grumble as she remembered those cold eyes Miyuki directed at her in the morning.
Just as she was about to take a turn and head towards her house,
“Ah!”
She stumbled into someone and nearly fell on the ground—only to be held by her wrist.
She looked at the person against whom she crashed, only to find her eyes widening a little.
“Hey, ojou-chan~aren’t you a beautiful one?” There stood several older men in their early twenties.
They had blond dyed hair and tattoos on their faces. Some weird piercing and dark bags under their eyes.
Satomi trembled at the sight of those many men but she refused to show her vulnerability and snatched her hand away, “Get lost, losers!”
She spun on her feet and was about to move away when one of those men, suddenly grabbed her by her waist and pulled into his arms.
“Now, now. You can’t expect us to let you go after that insult, can you?”
“Let me go! Ugh!” Satomi failed and tried to move away, but to no avail. He was just too strong for her.
She was about to take out the pepper spray from her bag, when suddenly a familiar voice called out for the man who was holding her,
“Assaulting a school girl in daylight…you sure got balls of steel.”
Everyone turned their eyes to look at the boy who appeared before them.
And the most shocked by Satomi as she uttered under her breath,
‘Yuichi?’
