- Chapter 88- SS: Her insecurities
It was after the two families—Takeda and Shirogane had met and agreed upon the engagement between Hiroto and Miyuki.
She went to a restaurant after classes and currently was waiting for Hiroto. They had decided to have dinner together here since this place sells extremely good hot pots. Since Miyuki wanted to come here again, Hiroto suggested that they shouldn’t wait for some occasion.
As such, this was a date.
Miyuki had worn a pair of dark blue jeans and a white shirt that gave her a very appealing look. Her hair was tied in a ponytail and a very light make-up elevated her charm.
In general, she attracts a lot of attention because of her beautiful face and silver hair. However, at the moment, she was like the centrepiece of the eatery. Many people even walked into the restaurant because they were attracted by Miyuki’s charm (she was sitting at that table which the passersby could look at).
Miyuki was, naturally, unfazed by those many gazes and some idiots who came to ask whether she was alone and wanted company, were directly shot down by her immediate refusal.
“Hey, beautiful.” Miyuki clicked her tongue and got prepared to swat another pest away. However, the moment she lifted her eyes from her phone, she was surprised.
There stood a group of two girls and two guys looking at her with a smile.
“You guys…” Miyuki knew them very well. After all, until the third year of middle school, they all were her classmates.
“Can we sit here with you? There are no more seats available.” One of two girls, whose name she recalled to be Aoi, asked with a pleading look.
She wanted to shake her head in denial, but the guy who previously called out to her suddenly took the initiative to sit down across her. The other two also sat beside him while Aoi took the seat beside Miyuki.
Since this was a family restaurant, the seats were big and comfortable. However, sitting with these people instead of Hiroto made her feel nowhere near comfortable.
“How are you doing, Miyuki? After graduation, we didn’t hear anything from you.” Aoi, who was Miyuki’s deskmate back in the day, asked casually as she flipped her long violet hair over her shoulder.
“I am doing fine….”
“And what about friends? Did you make any?” The second girl with short black hair, asked in a quieter tone.
“Doubt so. Miyuki-san prefers to remain alone most of the time.” That guy who imposed earlier, whose name she recalled to be Sato, added.
The other guy—whose name she completely forgot—just chuckled and said, “True. Back in middle school, Shirogane-san even did group projects alone.”
The group shared a laugh at that—however, Miyuki wasn’t laughing. No, more like, she wasn’t even feeling amused at all. The way her eyes morphed into cold stones signified how annoyed she currently was feeling.
She didn’t want Hiroto to meet them. Not only was Aoi wearing a dress that exposed a lot, but their subject of conversation was quite annoying.
She didn’t want Hiroto to know about her loner self.
“Hey Miyuki, are you on Line? Let’s exchange contacts.” Miyuki frowned upon seeing Sato raising his phone and extending it toward Miyuki.
She clearly didn’t want to share her contact with anyone present here. However, before she could reject it, a heavy voice pulled everyone’s attention who was present on the table.
“Would you mind emptying the seats? This table is already reserved, you see.” Every eye turned to look at the boy who was at a similar age as them.
Long raven-haired with slightly greyish eyes gave a very domineering presence to him. He seemed almost 6’ft in height and one could imagine what strong muscles he must be packing inside his black shirt. His crisp look and stern gaze made Aoi sigh in admiration, that she completely ignored what he said and got up to ask him,
“Do you mind sharing a seat with us?”
Hiroto frowned hearing that tone which definitely was made to sound seductive.
“Did you hear what I said just now? You are occupying the seat I have reserved for myself and my girlfriend.”
Aoi sobered up hearing that cold voice which seemed to have frozen the atmosphere as she hurriedly glanced at the others.
“Miyuki…were you sitting on someone else’s seat?” Hearing the blond guy, Hiroto felt irritated. Who the fuck is this wannabe delinquent to call Miyuki so intimately?
Maybe the blondie a.k Sato, sensed Hiroto’s glare as he frowned and asked, “What…you still got a proble-mfgh!” Before he could have completed what he intended to say, Hiroto grabbed the guy’s throat and lifted him off his feet slightly.
“Is he your close friend, Miyuki?” Hiroto asked and a smiling Miyuki shook her head.
Aoi realised the situation and widened her eyes. This hot guy was no random dude but Miyuki’s boyfriend!
Hiroto carried the blondie out of the table before pushing him away lightly. However, the light push was enough to make Sato stagger on his feet and fall on his back.
“Excuse me, waiter, these guys are disturbing us here.” Calling out to the waiter, Hiroto finally sat down beside his girlfriend and left the other four in quite a trouble.
Soon some security guards arrived, and despite how much Sato tried to reach Hiroto—to hit him—he didn’t succeed and in the end, they were ‘politely’ asked to leave.
‘Damn…did I behave like a Chinese main character just now?’ Hiroto couldn’t help but wonder as he calmed his breathing and realized the amount of gazes he was attracting.
However, the person, whose opinion mattered the most to him, had a beautiful smile adorning her lips as she leaned her head on his shoulder and a melodious giggle reached his ears.
“They seemed like they knew you….ex-classmates?”
“Mm-hmm. But they weren’t friends so I am thankful you got rid of them.” Miyuki replied soon after without showing any sign of lying. That helped Hiroto to heave a sigh of relief.
Because of his annoyance, he didn’t want to hurt the people close to her.
Miyuki slowly held his hand and after remaining silent for some moments she asked, “…Hiro-kun…doesn’t it bother you that I have always been so anti-social and unlikable?”
Hiroto was slightly surprised, not only because she sounded nervous and sad but also because of the reason for her anxiety.
Holding her hand tenderly in his hold, he softly but confidently conveyed, “Well, since you don’t like to associate with people much, I have your time, all for myself.” Rubbing the back of her hand tenderly, he added, “I get your undivided attention, and that’s why I want you to not change yourself.”
“And about being unlikable…just what made you think that you are unlikable? I mean, I like you. I like you so sooo much, that I felt like slaughtering every person in the traffic jam who was delaying my meeting with you.”
Miyuki knew he would say something like that. He always does. He couldn’t see her like this so he says things which he knew, would make her smile. And just like every time she was smiling at the moment as well.
Lifting her head from his shoulder, she looked at him with a pleading gaze and asked,
“Hiro-kun…can you fulfil my one wish?”
Hiroto nodded without thinking twice, “Of course. Just tell me.”
Her grip tightened on his arm a bit before she hesitantly asked, “After the engagement, can we start living together? Like…only just two of us?”
