After rebirth, I confessed to the losing heroine

After they were done eating, Miyuki along with the other two left the mall and decided to return home. Nene didn’t want to shop anymore since her main motive was to hand over the magical tool to Hiroto and as such, she didn’t pester them any more.

Miyuki seemed to want to spend some more time with Hiroto but Hiroto had some work. That’s why they decided to meet tomorrow. Meeting at night was not safe around these times when the level of security was elevated.

Hiroto returned to his house around five and the first thing he did was call Yuichi,

“Hello?”

[Returned so soon? Meeting with Shirogane-san’s cousin didn’t go well?]

Sometimes Hiroto regrets telling things to this guy, “Forget about that. Did you talk to Minami?”

There was a brief pause from the other end before Yuichi sighed and informed him,
[Their parents haven’t talked peacefully since last night and things aren’t looking good much….Hiro, will they get divorced?]

Hiroto leaned back on his study table before he asked, “Why don’t you get your ass moving a little and find out about the matter? I think there is something suspicious about this situation.”

[Yes, Minami also said that her Father isn’t the type of man to cheat on his partner. ]

A little hesitantly he added, [Do you think he is getting framed.]

“Most probably.”

Hiroto can only give subtle hints since he can’t come up as an omniscient and in turn makes himself look suspicious. After the Goddess appeared once again in front of him, Hiroto knew that his method of maintaining the plot was well accepted—as such he didn’t plan on doing anything extra.

[I have a feeling that the woman, whom Minami’s father went to meet, has framed him.]

Hiroto raised his brows. For the first time, this Protagonist seems to have applied his brain in the right direction.

“Then…is there any way for you to investigate her?”

[….I might have to ask Hanabi’s help again.]

Hiroto sighed inwardly. This was for the best.

Because of the change in Kaori’s route, Hanabi must have been feeling a little lonely lately. Having Yuichi ask for her help would kill two birds with one stone.

But there was a problem, “Are you going to do the fieldwork? I mean you might have to investigate that woman, right?”

[Yeah, who else would do that? I will take Hanabi’s help in keeping me updated about the woman and Ikeda family.]

Hiroto remained silent at that. If Yuichi wouldn’t be at home then how would this development with Hanabi take place? And not to talk about that in his current condition, Hanabi might not let him go out at all.

Worst case, she might take the help of her father—which currently was not acceptable.

‘If that man gets involved then this story is fucked…’ Hiroto didn’t think for long before suggesting,

“Let me handle the investigation. Just help me connect with Hanabi-san.”

The other side was silent for a moment, probably surprised that Hiroto took the initiative to help him.

However, soon Yuichi shared his concern,

[Are you sure tho? Shirogane-san might not like your involvement with this.]

“Don’t worry about that and let me know when Hanabi-san arrives.”

[Hmm, got it. Thanks.]

Hiroto disconnected the call and after taking several big breaths he called his fiancée.

[Hiro-kun? Did you reach home safely?]

“Yeah. How about you? Did Nene-chan say anything about me to your mother?”

Miyuki giggled in glee before she said,

[She is practically singing your praises in front of Mother. I think she has grown fond of you.]

“Then that’s good….” Hiroto trailed off near the end and Miyuki also became silent.

After a brief pause, the other side asked,

[You are…going to say something which I won’t like, right?]

Hiroto was momentarily taken aback hearing that. However, before he could ask how she knew it, Miyuki said,

[I can tell by how hesitant you sound right now. I know Hiro-kun never generally feels at a loss of words while talking to me…unless the matter is something he knew I wouldn’t like to hear.]

Those words…Hiroto didn’t know how he should feel about it.

All his life he has never allowed someone to get this close to him that they began to get to sense his behaviour in different circumstances. However, knowing that Miyuki was the first didn’t make him feel displeased. Rather he was happy.

However, at the moment, he didn’t focus on that rather, he jumped on the topic for which he called her,

“Miyuki…it’s just something that has happened with Ikeda Minami and Satomi and so….”

Hiroto detailed the whole situation from the picture to the possible divorce. Miyuki listened to him silently until the end.

Hiroto couldn’t discern what her current mood was but he had to tell her about what he was about to do,

“So-”

[So you are going to help them because Yuichi-kun wants you to?]

“Well…he didn’t ask me and was also worried that you might be against it. But I told him that my Miyuki understands me more than anyone else so it’s alright.” Hiroto lied near the end.

And on the other side, Miyuki also senses it. However, that stupid heart of hers couldn’t stop beating when he said ‘my Miyuki’.

In the end, she yielded,

[Fine…but please return home by eleven and if possible then keep texting me every three minutes, kay?]

“Three minutes wouldn’t be possible but I will text you every ten minutes. Is that acceptable, Hime?”

[Mm~I will accept that.]

Once he was done talking to Miyuki, Hiroto changed his outfit into a little darker tone.

Black hoodie over black trousers. He wore a mask as well since the area he might have to investigate would be under heavy surveillance.

For insurance, he took his pocket knife and didn’t take a gun.

He knew this mission was not that tricky but this arc would influence the next one—the arc for which the Goddess gave him that artifact. The inclusion of a character and a shit ton of drama.

Various events awaited Hiroto and it’s in his hands how he tackles it.
