After rebirth, I confessed to the losing heroine - Chapter 78- The past~1
Despite hearing Nene’s words, Miyuki shook her head and in a whisper told him to leave everything on her and return home. As such, he was back in his home.
The chaos he created to enter the mansion and the sudden arrival of Miyuki’s cousin must have created a hectic atmosphere in the mansion.
However, as Miyuki told him, Shirogane Souma wouldn’t like the fact that Hiroto regularly visits her room. Although they are engaged now, it was natural for the older ones to be against letting two teenagers spend alone time in one room.
‘Haah…I wanted to be with her tonight….’ While lying down on the bed, Hiroto stared at the ceiling and thought to himself.
Miyuki was upset and Hiroto wanted to comfort her. But he couldn’t.
‘I just hope everything goes fine on her side…’ With such thoughts, Hiroto closed his eyes and allowed himself to rest for some hours.

[At the same time]
[At the Shirogane Mansion]
In the reception area, the figure of four could be seen currently seated.
Although it was only half past eleven, following a healthy lifestyle Shirogane family always sleeps by eleven and wakes up around five. That’s why it can be seen from those half-closed eyes, that the Shirogane couple were still not fully awake.
“Weren’t you coming the day after tomorrow? Did something happen?” Souma asked his niece who had arrived quite early.
The blond princess with twin tails and aquamarine eyes crossed her arms on her flat chest and pouted, “Does Uncle want me to go back?”
Souma was well aware of Nene’s playful nature which allowed him to answer her in his natural tone, “I am happy that you are here. But your parents do know about this right?”
Hearing his query, Nene smirked, “A little surprise for them as well. Imagine when they wake up and won’t find me in the house, ehe~”
Souma sighed while shaking his head and the woman beside him chuckled faintly before she asked the maid to brew some coffee.
“By the way, Oji-san…what was that commotion earlier? Did someone infiltrate the mansion?”
Miyuki’s body stiffened upon hearing her and that smirk Nene wore was nothing but alarming.
Souma frowned, “The security is still trying to find who it was.”
Yuki looked apprehensive as she asked, “Is it the robbers again?”
Souma shook his head, “No, they can’t be that smart to divert the security guards so expertly. This is the work of an expert.”
Yuki’s complexion worsened and so did Miyuki’s. If her father discovers that it was Hiroto who trespassed the security then he might start to investigate Hiroto more closely.
And that was not something she wanted to happen.
“I-I think it must be some trained assailant.” Miyuki suggested before she hurriedly turned her focus on her cousin, “By the way, Nene-chan…where is your luggage?”
The half-British teenager grinned as she replied, “I have a lot of free time so I will go shopping tomorrow with Miyu-nee and her fiancé.”
“Ah, that’s a wonderful thought~” Yuki clasped her hands in enthusiasm. In this way, Nene and Hiroto would get to know each other better—the matriarch thought.
“Is that fine, Nee-san?” Seeing that toothy grin on her face, Miyuki felt a little anxious.
Tomorrow…it surely is going to be hectic.

The next day, Hiroto and Miyuki went to school as usual and en route, they were alone since Yuichi was taking a day off and Kaori was taking care of him.
While they walked uphill towards the school, Hiroto asked, “I still can’t understand how she knew about me being in your room.”
Hiroto had made sure before entering Miyuki’s room last night that no one saw him. However, the confidence Nene carried in her voice clearly stated that she was aware of his presence.
Although Nene didn’t ask for Hiroto nor bring out the topic in front of Miyuki’s parents, it was concerning how she found out about him.
“It doesn’t matter, Hiro-kun. I know Nene-chan won’t tell my parents about it. If she really had to, she wouldn’t have hesitated last night.”
Miyuki knows her sister well and even if Nene decides to reveal Miyuki’s secret, the latter would just admit it and face whatever consequences it may bring.
They became silent after that and continued to walk while holding hands.
The serene silence was broken by Hiroto, “Anyways, when are you guys going?”
Miyuki replied in slight hesitation, “Around five….but you don’t need to go to Hiro-kun if you don’t want to. I will make some e-”
“No, it’s fine. I also want to meet your cousin.”
Miyuki was still slightly anxious about letting the two meet but she nodded.
The day at the school went as usual. The teachers arrived and taught their respective subjects. During lunch, Hiroto and Miyuki ate lunch together on the rooftop.
The subjects of almost every conversation around the school were Yuichi and Hiroto. The fight that broke out yesterday has spread like wildfire and everyone has their theories about why the event occurred.
Hiroto wasn’t called by the Principal but it wouldn’t be surprising if he was called since Hiroto has hurt some of the students pretty badly and their parents might come to complain.
However, Hiroto wasn’t stressed about it as he returned to his home. Today he didn’t let Miyuki drop him off since she has a cousin waiting for her back at home.
Once he entered the house, he found his mother standing near the entrance with an anxious look on her face, as she asked,
“You have time today? We need to buy some gifts for the engagement ceremony.”
Hiroto put down the school bag and rested his hands on her shoulders, “Mom, can you stop being so anxious about everything related to the Shirogane family?”
The older Takeda heaved a sigh, “I just can’t help but fear that we might end up doing something that might embarrass them.”
“You don’t need to worry about that, Mom. We are going to be a family now, and as such it is natural to have some ups and downs, right?”
Akiko nodded and felt quite content with the fact that despite her immature behaviour, her son had always remained calm and collected.
After taking a pause she asked him, “Then…when should we go?”
Hiroto thought for a moment before answering, “How about this weekend? We can go once Dad gets time from his work.”
“That man….seriously he can even be absent from your engagement ceremony for his work.”
Seeing her complaining frown, Hiroto chuckled as he felt his mood lightening up.

Around five, wearing a casual outfit, Hiroto reached the Shirogane mansion and found the two girls standing near the entrance.
The small blond girl smiled while Miyuki still looked quite apprehensive.
“Hello! You must be Hiroto-kun…” As he reached near them, Nene extended her arms and wrapped them around Hiroto’s back to give him a brief hug.
Hiroto could see that Miyuki went stiff seeing this gesture, however, his focus didn’t remain on her for long once he heard what the girl whispered,
“….or do I say, Agent Noir.”
