After rebirth, I confessed to the losing heroine - Chapter 76- Enraged
Life seemed to be falling into ruins for Satomi.
What she feared and the reason she was played as a puppet by her step-sister, has now been revealed.
For some reason, her father went to meet his past lover once again, and her mother saw them entering the love hotel.
Satomi was currently in her room but she could hear their argument from here. Well, calling it an argument would be unfair since her father is silently listening while her mother is the only one shouting and crying.
Minami was also in her room and just like Satomi she also couldn’t do anything about this situation. However, Satomi knows, Minami wasn’t as affected by this incident as Satomi was. From the beginning, Minami didn’t seem to have much importance for her family. The only person in whom Minami showed great interest and cared about is Yuichi.
‘Haah….is this how things end?’ Satomi sighed while lying on the bed. Although it wasn’t long, she started to get used to having a motherly figure in the house. A person with whom Satomi can chat about things which she couldn’t talk to anyone else. Having someone greet you when you get back and prepare delicious food—Satomi had started to love this new life which she always desired.
But because of her stupid father, she would be abandoned again.
*Knock*
A sudden knock on her door broke her out of the reverie.
Since the argument was still ongoing downstairs, Satomi knew it couldn’t be her parents.
And upon opening the door, Satomi found the one she was expecting, “Minami…”
The raven-haired prim and proper ojou-sama stood there with an indifferent look.
“Come with me.” Minami didn’t say anything further and began to walk towards the staircase.
Satomi was surprised by the sudden invitation but she soon followed suit and after taking her phone she also descended to the ground floor.
Minami didn’t head towards the living room—where the two were involved in verbal disagreement—rather she headed towards the main entrance.
“Where are we going?”Satomi’s words were ignored as Minami walked silently.
It was already nine on the clock that’s why there wasn’t anyone on the streets.
Satomi followed Minami silently but just as her patience was about to completely thin out, she found that someone was walking with them.
“Who are you?!” Satomi panicked and took a martial arts stance.
The hooded figure removed the shroud and the familiar face of Hiroto stared at Satomi, blankly, “Can you stop making funny poses?”
Satomi was embarrassed before she coughed with a red face and eased down.
Minami walked towards the duo before asking Hiroto, “Why did you call us here?”
Satomi raised her brows in surprise. So Hiroto called them here? And how come her sister obeyed his orders so easily?
“Believe me, if it had been for me I wouldn’t have preferred coming three stations down to meet you two.”
Minami’s eyes sparkled as she asked, “Did Yu-kun send you?”
Hiroto sighed, “He is anxious about your situation and since he can’t move much in that condition….well, what happened with your parents?”
Minami had a shy smile that showed how elated she was. Having Yuichi care about her made Minami feel like she had actually gained a spot in his heart.
Hiroto rolled his eyes at the shy maiden being all so fidgety before he turned to look at Satomi.
The blond gyaru was also a bit tired of seeing Minami changing her colours so quickly as she told him,
“Most probably divorce.”
“So easily?” Hiroto’s comment made Minami frown as she rebuked him,
“Mum hates cheating men that’s why she left her first husband as well. Can you imagine how much she must have felt hurt seeing her current husband following the same path?”
Satomi’s shoulders slumped in dejection. Her idiot father committed a grave sin and it was natural for her mother to leave him.
Hiroto crossed his arms on his chest before asking Satomi, “And you…do you think your father could cheat on your mother?”
Being questioned by Hiroto so suddenly made her flustered as Satomi glanced towards Minami mindlessly.
“I mean… Dad indeed used to come late home when he was still single so it can be said that he must have had some casual relationships. But after he started dating Mother, he improved himself. And after marrying he became a proper man—worthy to be called a husband and a father.”
Hearing Satomi’s words, even Minami was forced to realise that indeed that man seemed always devoted in this relationship. And for him to suddenly cheat…
“Wait! Are you suggesting that he never cheated and is being framed?” Minami’s question was directed toward Hiroto even though he has said nothing to suggest that he is aware of their situation.
“I am not suggesting anything here. Yuichi just told me to check on you both so I did. Now go back and wait for his call.”
Hiroto said before turning away and walking down the lane which led to the opposite side of their house.
Neither of them called out for him thankfully as Hiroto headed toward the station.
‘They are moving according to the plot…I just need to pull some strings to assist Yuichi and this case will be solved before they end up divorcing…’ Hiroto would have used time reversal to save Yuichi from getting harmed by those punks in school. In that way, Hiroto wouldn’t have to get involved in this matter at all.
However, thinking closely Hiroto didn’t find it necessary. And the major reason he chose not to reverse the time was because of Miyuki.
‘Hmm?’ While keeping his steps steady, Hiroto noticed that someone was following him.
‘Someone from Yuichi’s side….no…’ This person was a professional since he was able to hide his presence quite brilliantly—something which the underworld goons always fail to do.
Hiroto walked with steady strides—not towards the station but in a more isolated location.
He could feel the presence still some meters behind him, hiding behind electricity poles and street corners.
After turning at one of those corners, Hiroto sped up and jumped over the nearby wall, and landed soundlessly in a random house front garden.
Through the gaps in the bushes, he could see the figure of a male with a lean build and wearing all black from top to bottom looking around the street and trying to find Hiroto.
Hiroto took out a taser from his pocket before sneakily penetrating his hand through the bushes and tasering the man on his butt.
“Hnnnnnnghhhhh!!!!” The man’s cries were muffled as he shook violently before falling once Hiroto removed his hand.
Jumping back on the street Hiroto looked at the man before stomping his foot on his stomach.
“Ghuuk!!” The man groaned in pain which followed just after the shock.
“Tell me who you are before I slit that ringing throat of yours.” The glint in Hiroto’s eyes made the man forget about his pain and urged him to hurriedly answer,
“I was sent by Miyuki-ojou to keep an eye on you.”
Hiroto’s eyes widened before he asked, “You didn’t tell her that I went to meet those two girls earlier, right?!”
Miyuki was already upset with him and if this spy told her that Hiroto went to meet Satomi and Minami so late at night….
“Umm…” The man slowly took his phone out which Hiroto immediately snatched—only to find his eyes widening.
The call was connected and the person on the line was none other than…
“Hello? M-Miyuki?”
There was a sound of laughter that erupted from the other side—and that sent a shiver down his spine. He could sense that she was beyond enraged right now.
Today is a tough day for Hiroto.
