After rebirth, I confessed to the losing heroine - Chapter 73- Fight
[Hiroto’s POV:]
And so, the match concluded with an easy victory. Yuichi was far better than how one could expect from someone who had never shown his face on the field before.
The role given to Yuichi as a power hitter did wonders, and he with the help of two other guys, finished the match in less than ten minutes.
The coach is well adamant about recruiting both of us to the team but I have only given vague answers until now. Given the mess I often need to clear out for the plot to keep moving, I might not be able to report regularly.
“Good work, Hiro-kun.” As I neared the stands, Miyuki greeted me with a smile that made me feel at home.
“Thanks for waiting.” I took the water bottle and sat down before urging her to sit down beside me.
“Ah….sorry, I must be smelling awful right now.” I apologized given my whole upper wear was drenched by now and the smell of sweat could never be good to anyone.
However, with her face slightly flushed (probably because of the heat) she shook her head and said, “It’s fine, I don’t mind.”
I was concerned if she was forcing herself but didn’t ask again.
Uncapping the bottle I took several big gulps as I heard Miyuki asking, “Are you going home after this?”
Parting my lips I answered, “There is nothing urgent waiting for me back at home. But don’t you have tuition today?” If I remember correctly, Miyuki has two tuition classes today and her car must be already waiting for her near the school entrance.
“Hiro-kun….I have actually stopped taking all the other classes and only participate in two classes on weekends.”
I was taken aback. For Miyuki to suddenly back off from those classes which she deemed to be necessary for becoming an ideal person….? What changed?
“Miyuki…it isn’t like you are abandoning your dream because of me?” I couldn’t help but frown. Miyuki wants to walk on the path that her Father took and for that, she has been preparing from the age of ten.
And for her to suddenly…
“No, you are wrong Hiro-kun!” It seems she thought I might misunderstand something which made her panic. I didn’t show any impatience and allowed her to speak.
“It’s just…I don’t feel the necessity to be taught so much anymore. If I want to be a successful entrepreneur in the future then it’s not necessary to burden myself when I am still in high school. Even Dad said that to become successful in your career you need dedication and hard work. But for that future, it’s not necessary to destroy yo-”
“Okay, calm down.” Seeing how she was speaking all that in a single breath I held her shoulder.
“Haaah….so that’s what I was saying.” She exhaled a long breath and her complexion returned to normal.
Seriously, how much did she get stressed by my question?
“Here, have some water.” I gave her the one I was drinking from.
There was no hesitation from her side to drink from the same bottle, but that blush signified that she still was shy kissing indirectly.
Adorable. Just simply and purely adorable.
Those lips tempted me, but before I could suggest a detour before returning home, I caught the sight of a commotion occurring nearby.
Miyuki also turned to look at the place where I was looking and I could sense her shift of mood.
“Hiro-kun….” She held my arm and her tone shifted into one that told me how much she didn’t want me to go. But *sigh*
I kissed her head and whispered, “I will be back in a minute.”

[5 minutes earlier]
“Yes, yes, I heard you. Now calm down.” Yuichi couldn’t help but chuckle seeing the over-excited side of Kaori who was jumping all around the place.
Yuichi himself was surprised that he was able to score a home run but well, everything went better than he anticipated.
“But Yu-kun looked the best and was so cool. I missed taking any pictures, gah!” She let out a pained expression upon realizing her mistake.
It was then,
“Hey, Yuichi.” Yuichi turned to look at the one who called him, only to find his neck jerking because someone hit him hard on his face.
“Yu-kun!!” Kaori shouted as Yuichi wobbled on his feet and held the left side of his face.
He was struck by a baseball bat, that was for sure but he was more interested in confirming the identity of the bastard who hit him.
“Kaito…” Muttering under his breath, Yuichi pushed Kaori away and used his hand, which was previously covering his face, to stop that bastard from hitting him again.
“Guh! Let go, you asshole!” Kaito struggled to free the bat from Yuichi’s grip but to no avail.
Yuichi was about to punch the bastard right in the face when his left leg was suddenly kicked with powerful force.
“Ugh…” Yuichi groaned and got on his knee because of the pain.
Before Yuichi knew he was surrounded by almost half a dozen guys from the baseball team. And some were from his own.
“This is what you get by being so cocky, dickhead!” Someone shouted before Yuichi was again hit on the back of his head and this time his consciousness began to turn hazy.
Kaito snatched his bat away and was about to hit Yuichi again when suddenly Yuichi raised his hand and clutched between Kaito’s legs with enough force to make the guy drop his bat.
“Ughhhhh!!!! Fuck!” Yuichi’s hold was unshakable as he instantly got on his feet, startling the others.
One of the guys silently took out a rope to strangle Yuichi’s neck until submission….only to feel a hand draping on his shoulder
“That kind of play doesn’t suit a high schooler.” The boy who was about to strangle Yuichi along with everyone else turned to look at the certain familiar guy who had a twitching smile on his face.
“Oraaaaaa!” One of those didn’t think twice before he began to swing his bat left to right (hitting one of his comrades along the way) and advanced toward Hiroto.
Hiroto sighed and easily dodged the attack, before spearing his knee in the guy’s torso.
“Guhhh!” He groaned and fell to the ground.
Others looked at Hiroto in horror at how easily he got done with their strongest with his one hand inside his pocket.
“Ughh …help me….” Kaito was still being ‘held’ by Yuichi but his plea for help was ignored.
“T-Take this!” Another one advanced with his fist balled and raised at his face level.
Hiroto shook his head in disappointment before holding that fist and pulling the guy towards himself.
*Slap*
A crisp sound of flesh hitting flesh resonated as Hiroto slapped the guy with enough strength to leave a five-fingerprint mark on his cheek.
The guys hadn’t even recovered from the shock before,
*SLAP*
Another one, and this time louder on the same cheek.
“Uuuuu….sorry….please….forgive me…” The boy began to cry and flailed his body to free himself from Hiroto’s hold.
The remaining four had a pale face as they glanced at each other before stepping back.
“Like hell!” Yuichi roared as he threw Kaito away and picked one of the bats.
What happened after that was a one-sided beatdown.
An enraged Yuichi was quite overpowered—Hiroto admitted.
Everyone else ran away despite how bad their condition was and the only one who remained fidgeting on the ground was Kaito.
Yuichi and Hiroto stood side by side and looked down at the crawling worm, who was trying to get away
“Gah!” Kaito groaned as Yuichi stepped on his ankle to stop him.
“Did you break it….?” Hiroto asked, signaling towards Kaito’s crotch.
Yuichi shook his head innocently, “No….not yet. ” As he said, he lifted the bat he was holding, high in the air.
“No, no! Please!!! I beg you! Please don’t!”
Kaito clasped his hand and with tears staining his face he begged Yuichi.
Yuichi glanced at Hiroto, to which the latter shrugged.
In the end, Yuichi let go of Kaito, who immediately got up.
“Don’t show your face again,” Yuichi warned before Kaito dashed as fast as he could….while limping.
“Yu-kun!” Kaori came rushing to his side and Miyuki walked slowly towards Hiroto.
Yuichi smiled at her and was about to call out when he found his vision turned blurry.
“Haaah….” The last thing Yuichi heard before fainting was the tired sigh of Hiroto.

A/N:- Old school fights. I have seen ’em a lot.
I’m honestly surprised Yuichi didn’t DIE from that! Bats can KILL people you know! 😨
