After rebirth, I confessed to the losing heroine - Chapter 53- Soulmate
During lunch, the conversation between Hiroto and her parents went smoothly—much to Miyuki’s delight.
After lunch, her father seemed to want to invite Hiroto for a chess match, but suddenly some urgent work arose and he had to leave in a rush.
Since Yuki wanted to rest a bit in her room, she suggested, “Why don’t you show Hiroto-kun around the house?”
Miyuki eagerly nodded.
Although she was content with the easygoing exchange his parents had with Hiroto, it was a fact that she was a little jealous. After all, despite being by his side, Hiroto has paid very little attention to her.
That’s why she seemed eager to be alone with Hiroto as she pulled him toward the library of the mansion.
“This is my favorite place. I usually spend my holidays here.” The massive library of the Shirogane mansion was nothing short of those public libraries.
There was a vast collection of books from different genres, placed in different sections and lined up alphabetically.
Hiroto browsed through the books shortly before his eyes laid on a small basket placed near the entrance.
“Anything special about those books?” He found there were botany-related books along with some romance novels.
“Ah, those…I just finished reading them. Forgot to rearrange.”
Hiroto raised his brows as he looked at Miyuki, “You surely love books a lot, huh? I wonder if I should consider books as my rival.”
Miyuki giggled as she swayed their connected hand a little before whining, “Don’t be silly.”
Hiroto didn’t tease her any further and continued walking around the library mindlessly.
Miyuki remained silent for a brief moment before she asked, “What did you talk about with Father?”
“Hmm?” Hiroto hummed before answering, “Nothing much, just how serious I am about this relationship. It seems he will be talking to my parents soon.”
Butterflies erupted in her belly hearing that. For her Father to take the initiative to call Hiroto’s parents meant he was not against this relationship and wanted to have the two engaged as well.
‘Engagement….’ Suddenly, that word, brought upon a memory which she had confined in the deepest part of her mind.
Hiroto noticed the sudden change in her demeanor which urged him to ask, “What happened? You don’t want to get engaged?”
“I want to!” Miyuki’s sudden reaction made him chuckle as he halted in the path behind the bookshelves and held her other hand as well.
“Then what is it? You know that until you don’t tell me, I won’t stop asking.”
Miyuki’s eyes fell toward their connected hands as she asked after a brief pause, “…that time…when I returned the ring to you…Hiro-kun must be hurt, right?”
Hiroto reflexively asked hearing her query, “Did you hear our conversation?”
Miyuki blinked in surprise before asking, “Did my Father say something about it?”
The chain of questions was broken by Hiroto as he decided not to go around the bush anymore and answer her truthfully,
“You know Miyuki, the first time I saw you…I was mesmerized.”
Her heart fluttered hearing that but along with it, guilt also wrapped around her heart, making her look sadder than before.
Regardless, Hiroto continued, “Although we had very little to no conversation after our engagement, I used to think ‘She must be shy’ or something along the lines.”
“But I soon found out that I was just a delusional fool who was creating his world while including you in it. I never tried discerning your feelings and created a perception all by myself.”
Hiroto detached his hand from hers, before placing it on her cheek and urging her to look at him.
As Miyuki’s slightly moistened eyes fell on him, Hiroto whispered,
“But that’s all a past now. If not for the affection I had sheltered for you all these times, then I wouldn’t have ever stalked you at that time and arrived at the right time to save my Hime.”
A strong gale slashed all her chain; allowing her to relax her shoulder and smile at him sweetly. She knew he would say something to ease her mind, yet hearing it from him stole all her worries in an instant.
‘That’s right if he didn’t have any affection for me then he wouldn’t have stalked me and saved me……huh?’
With her eyes a little widening, “Hiro-kun? You stalked me?”
“Yes, I used to stalk you some time. Why? Does that creep you out?”
Her shock turned into a sweet smile before she shook her head, “I never said that. After all, stalking the person you love is a way of showing your affection.”
Hiroto smiled hearing her response before he drew closer to Miyuki and brought her hand toward his lips.
Kissing the back of her hand, he asked, “So my princess, are you willing to get engaged to me again?”
Miyuki affectionately looked at him with a huge smile on her face before she answered, “With pleasure.”
Placing her palm on his lips he kissed her skin again before asking, “And what if your father or maybe mine decides to annul it?”
Her eyes grew sharper as she said, “Then I will abduct you from your house and we will settle at some secluded place. ”
His soft kisses advanced toward her wrist, as he directed a seductive look to her—much to trouble her heart as he asked again, “Are you willing to abandon everything for me?”
“Without hesitation.” Her face drew closer as she said that. Her body was turning extremely hot and the craving elevated to experience those lips on hers.
Hiroto brushed his lips against hers as the distance between their faces remained inches away.
From that distance, his low growling whisper got carved into her mind, “From here on, I won’t let you go.”
Miyuki pressed her lips on his as she felt a chill of excitement running down her spine.
Behind the bookshelves, the two love birds created their love nest as their lips clashed passionately and all their feelings were relayed to each other through their action.
His hand encircled her waist and her arms locked behind his neck.
Hiroto pressed her back against the shelf as he dove into the kiss deeper.
There is no need for any ring or formal ceremony for Miyuki. Hiroto has already become her soulmate.

Around seven in the evening, Yuichi received a call from Hiroto,
[Why the old shrine? It’s pretty far from here, y’know.]
Yuichi thought about an excuse and relayed instantly, “Ah, well I wanted to try the famous crepe they sell near the shrine. Anyway, you have taken a cab right?”
Yuichi told Hiroto to take a cab since there was a chance for Ryuuske to act midway if Hiroto had decided to walk to this place.
[Yup, I have. Don’t forget to pay me later.]
“Haha, will do.” The call soon disconnected as Yuichi took a deep breath.
“You seemed pretty nervous talking to that guy. What’s with that?” Yuichi’s ex-sparring partner, Makoto asked while sipping on the soda he brought along.
“Well, Hiroto catches on things quickly. If I had hesitated making an excuse he might have suspected something was wrong and might have returned home.”
“Damn…first killing a biker gang member and now this….Are you sure this Hiroto guy is just a normal kid?”
Hearing Makoto’s question, Yuichi hesitated. However, he soon shook his head and replied,
“Yeah, he is just a normal high schooler.”
At that time, Yuichi himself didn’t realize that those words were more of a hopeful wish rather than a statement.
