After rebirth, I confessed to the losing heroine - Chapter 51- Lost?!
[Miyuki’s POV:]
*Cling*
“Ojou-sama?!”
“It’s nothing. Just continue whatever you are doing.”
I stepped away from the broken glass pieces which I purposely threw to the ground in exasperation.
Today was the perfect day for Hiro-kun to meet my father. Hiro-kun made a very good first impression and also, Mom’s favourable treatment would have helped a lot today. However, amidst the best-going day, suddenly an unexpected person arrived and ruined this meeting!
*Clang*
“Miyu-chan?! What are you doing?”
“Ah, mom.” Suddenly Mom entered the kitchen just as I threw another glass in anger.
“Come here. Let me see your hands.”
Mom checked my hands thoroughly and told a butler to clean up the place.
She brought me to a side before asking, “Are you angry because of Ryuuske-kun’s arrival?”
Was I too obvious? Well, I hope Ryuuske also notices my displeasure and leaves as soon as possible.
“Today…I wanted Father to only focus on Hiro-kun…but now…” There was no point in hiding my true emotions from Mom. She would find out anyway.
Currently, those three were chatting in the living room and I left the place with the excuse of tea preparation. Although I didn’t want to leave Hiro-kun alone, I knew, if I remained there for long I might end up saying something really rude.
“I can see that Hiroto-kun is way more important than Ryuuske-kun for you.”
Mom’s words made me tilt my head in confusion, “Isn’t that natural.”
My mother suddenly giggled for no definite reason and when I asked what happened, she brushed it off.
“Let’s not talk about that. Anyways, Ryuuske-kun would leave in an hour or so, since he is returning to Kyoto today.”
I felt elated and frustrated at the same time. Elated that he would leave, frustrated since he would be here for another hour.
Ugh, I never realized Ryuuske was this clingy.

[Third Person POV:]
The two ladies returned to the reception area soon after with a butler pushing the trolley with tea and snacks placed on it.
The arrangement of the sofa was in a square pattern.
A pair of single sofas is placed on the opposite side. And a double seater sofa on the left and right.
Ryuuske was sitting on the single-seater sofa, opposite Souma. While Hiroto sat on the double seater on the left of Ryuuske.
The seats beside Ryuuske and Hiroto were empty. Yuki sat beside her husband and when it was Miyuki, Ryuuske thought she would sit beside him since the seat beside him was nearer.
However…
“Here is your black coffee. No milk, no sugar.” The only person to whom Miyuki handed the beverage was Hiroto before she sat beside him…only inches remained between their shoulders.
Ryuuske received his tea from the butler with his smile never fading…however, with the intensity he held the handle of the cup, signified how agitated he was.
To distract himself, Ryuuske asked the lady in front,
“How is your health these days, Yuki-san? Mother told me that you can now regularly leave the house and even recently had an international trip?”
“Oh, yes. The medication is doing wonders and if not under sunlight then I can travel for a long distance as well. ” Yuki responded in an elated voice.
She liked to tell people how she was improving day by day and overcoming her weaknesses.
“I am happy to hear that.” Ryuuske flashed a dazzling smile and side glanced at Hiroto, to see his reaction.
However, upon seeing how he and Miyuki were busily chatting without paying attention to anything else, Ryuuske felt a bulge forming on his head.
‘This bastard!’
However, before he could have said anything, it was Souma who asked,
“So your second year is finished and two more years before you graduate right?”
Ryuuske collected himself in an instant and responded, “Yes, Souma-san. Once I complete my masters from Oxford, I will join a small firm to gather experience and then possibly have my own start-up.”
Souma raised his brows in surprise as he said, “You appear to have a clear vision of your future. And for you to pursue business just like your father, it’s quite admirable.”
Ryuuske offered a smile while feeling quite content inside.
Turning his attention toward Hiroto, Ryuuske asked, “What about you Hiroto-kun? I heard your father was a businessman as well…are you intending to regain the position he once held?”
Miyuki’s sharp glare didn’t go unnoticed by anyone in the room however, the person to whom it was directed, completely ignored her and kept his focus on Hiroto.
Ryuuske’s purpose was obvious. He wanted to draw a clear difference between himself and Hiroto. He wanted to let Souma know, who would be a better partner for his daughter.
And thankfully, Hiroto’s response helped him make the difference more vivid.
“I will complete an integrated course of four years from college and after my master’s, I will pursue PhD in maths.”
Ryuuske raised his brows as he said, “For you to take an integrated course…you must be sure of your capabilities.”
Even Souma nodded at that; inwardly worried whether Hiroto could achieve his goal by trimming six years of studies in four.
Ryuuske inwardly smirked at the reaction from Souma as he waited for a response.
However, the words Hiroto relayed, erased Ryouske’s grin in an instant,
“Actually, I have already prepared the base of my theory through several researches. And after I showed it to my uncle, who is also a professor of mathematics, he said even four years is too long for me to graduate from college.”
“Wait…are you talking about Mizoto-san who teaches at the University of Kyoto?” Hearing Souma’s words and the enthusiasm he had in his voice, Ryuuske gritted his teeth.
“Ah, yes. He even invited me to some of his lectures one of these days. However, I am not sure whether should I join.”
“You should definitely listen to your uncle Hiroto-kun.” Yuki softly reprimanded to which Hiroto rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment.
“If you say, then I will surely go and meet him.”
The harmonious chat between the three just continued while Ryuuske’s presence seemed to have long lost.
The blond young man looked to and fro between Hiroto and Souma…finding the right opportunity to jump in. However, the two elders were so occupied with talking to Hiroto that the faint attempt of interruption from Ryuuske was completely ignored.
All of sudden, Ryuuske found someone looking at him intently. Turning his head, he found it was Miyuki who was giving him a side-long glance with an evil smirk dancing on her lips.
‘!!!’ Ryuuske gritted his teeth in frustration before he got up.
“…then, I will take my leave.”
Every eye turned to look at him before Souma said, “You must be getting late. Come on, I will walk you to the door.”
Ryuuske was fuming within, realizing that Souma would not ask him to say even once. However, he kept his expression sober and responded,
“No, it’s okay.” Bowing, he turned around and left soon after.
However, what no one but Hiroto noticed was the blood staining Ryuuske’s right hand.
