Shirogane Souma loved his family more than his reputation or wealth, which he had earned through rigorous hard work over twenty years.

He could sacrifice everything he possessed except for his family and their happiness.

For Souma, the family background doesn’t matter until his daughter can be happy with her partner. Of course, he would never abandon his daughter even after her marriage, and given Miyuki’s capabilities, he knew, his daughter could take care of herself under any circumstances.

That’s why he didn’t sound offended when Miyuki announced her relationship with Takeda Hiroto—whose father has been relegated from the upper circle of society recently.

It was unfortunate but Souma had to annul the engagement between Miyuki and Hiroto at that time. And it wasn’t just Souma’s decision. It was mutually discussed and decided by both families.

As such, it was a little surprising for Miyuki to be dating the same person who once was her fiancé. Although Souma could understand how this sudden connection might have formed(referring to the incident where Hiroto saved her), Souma still had his doubts.

Therefore today, he was going to ascertain the true intentions behind Hiroto’s approach towards Miyuki.

If he really likes his daughter, then Souma wouldn’t hesitate giving them their relationship…however, if it turned out Hiroto is just playing around with some ulterior motive in mind, then, Souma was well set on separating them right away.

[Hiroto’s POV:]

Unofficially I have entered this mansion numerous times, but officially, this was my second time. However, the previous visit went haywire and I had to travel back in time.

So ultimately, this was the first time I was meeting Shirogane Souma, after my transmigration.

I already know what kind of man he is and what kind of doubts he must be harboring toward me.

However, I was prepared to go through any kind of trial today.

“Welcome, Hiroto-sama.” The group of maids bowed to me but my focus remained on the girl who was advancing towards me with a charming smile, never leaving her face.

She was wearing a white top with a black skirt and had done very light makeup. Her velvet smooth silver hair was tied in a ponytail, providing a very refreshing touch-up to her look. Although I love the dignified and serious Miyuki, this sunny and refreshing look was quite captivating as well.

“You arrived.” She held my hand and only halted once our bodies were barely touching.

Her citric shampoo and light perfume just overwhelmed my senses as the urge to embrace her significantly rose. However, I knew we were being watched, that’s why I kept my hands off her, for now.

“You look adorable. I love this new look.” I kissed the back of her hand softly as some words left my lips.

Miyuki smiled in contentment before responding, “I am glad that you liked it. Come on, let’s go inside.”

We held hands with her our fingers interlaced before Miyuki led me inside the mansion.

Inside the mansion, Miyuki’s parents were standing in the reception with varying expressions on their faces.

On the left was the person who looks the older version of Miyuki—Shirogane Yuki. And the tall and stiff man with a solemn look on his face was Shirogane Souma.

Following his line of sight, I realized that he was not so okay with me holding his daughter’s hand so intimately. However, I had no reason to act all modestly here and hurt my Hime. If she wants to hold hands, then that’s all that matters.

“Hiroto-kun, how have you been? It’s been a while since we met.”

Yuki-san, as merry as ever, ignored her husband’s grumpy attitude and hopped in our direction.

She brought her hand on my cheek and tilted her head, “You have become thinner. Are you on a diet?”

“He eats like a bird, Mom. Very little.” Miyuki complained as she nudged me with her shoulder.

Being in the field where I need to maintain my body and keep myself in shape, I have to take a definite amount of nutrition and exercise daily. As such, I eat five times a day, but the portion on my plate generally remains one-third of how much a normal person eats.

“Hmm? That’s not a healthy lifestyle for a growing boy. Today, I will feed you until I don’t see a small bump on your belly.”

“Then I will have to excuse myself right away.” Hearing my response Yuki-san and Miyuki, both chuckled at the same time.

As one could see, my relationship with my mother-in-law was good and I knew how to make a permanent spot in her heart.

However, the most problematic person to deal with in this house was,

“*Ahem*”

Hearing him cough we turned to look at him at the same time.

I walked forward and left the two ladies behind. With a bow, I greeted him,

“Nice to meet you, Shirogane Souma-san. I hope you are doing well.”

There was no requirement for me to offer my name since he knows me well.

I lifted my head and looked at him with a relaxed smile. Unlike before, I was no longer nervous. Thanks to Miyuki, I feel far more comfortable.

“I can see that you have grown up in a very short time.”

“I am not sure what you are referring to, but thank you for the compliment.”

A brief silence ensued between us as Souma-san looked at me pretty intently. I am sure he doesn’t have any supernatural ability to read my mind, that’s why I was unsure of what he was looking at.

“…Anata, how about we sit down first?”

Yuki-san’s troubled voice arrived from behind before she walked towards her husband and hooked her arm with his.

Souma-san sighed; seemingly, receptive to his wife’s persuasion.

However, before any of us could have moved and sat down, someone made an unexpected entrance,

“Good evening, everyone!”

At the same time, every eye turned to look at the person who walked in, with a cheerful smile on his face.

With a bouquet and a chocolate box in his hand, and some men behind him holding numerous gifts, the blond man approached us with a big smile on his face.

I wanted to sigh. Like really bad. But I held back and saw the spectacle unfolding in front.

The wannabe British diplomat, Ryuuske-kun has arrived.
