After rebirth, I confessed to the losing heroine - Chapter 35- Warning~
Hiroto was invited by Miyuki to the rooftop. Reason? She brought lunch for him.
Although Hiroto was extremely happy and surprised to hear that she brought him a homemade bento, his suspicion, and conflict didn’t allow him to show his actual feelings.
The pair went to the rooftop and between the flowerbeds, they sat on a resting bench with the two lunch boxes resting over their thighs.
“Itadakimasu.” Hiroto picked a small karaage piece for the starters and dipped it in a specific kind of red sauce at the side.
Placing the chicken piece on his tongue he chewed it a couple of times, as some words left his throat,
“The crunchiness is still here…yet the meat is so tender.” Hiroto glanced at the girl and spoke with utmost sincerity. More importantly, the shine in his eyes must have already expressed how truthful he was with his compliments.
Next came the gyoza which had a petty golden shade and seemed fluffy from its texture.
Hiroto picked the steamed and pan-fried gyoza between his chopsticks and consumed the whole thing in one go….only to get the gyoza stuck in his throat.
“*Cough* *Cough*”
Miyuki hurriedly put down her chopsticks and lightly patted his back as Hiroto somehow was able to swallow the food.
Amidst the coughing, Hiroto raised his thumb and complimented fleetingly, “Excellen-*cough*-t”
“Stop speaking and drink this.” She forwarded some barley tea which Hiroto slowly gulped and cursed himself inwardly for being such embarrassing.
With tears built in his eyes, Hiroto finished what he intended to tell her before, “It’s super delicious and extra flavorful. Congratulations, you stole my heart again.”
Miyuki blushed hearing those words before rebutting him, “How can you be careless while eating? Choking on food can lead to serious problems.”
Her reprimand sounded melodies in his ears. This feeling was something one could only experience if one loved someone dearly and received equal care and love from them as well.
Overall, his afternoon was already better than the last time.
Some minutes passed between them in silence with Hiroto’s slow mumbling reaching her ears, about how good she cooks.
Although Miyuki never felt tired of hearing his praises and wanted to hear more, she decided to first ask him something more important.
“Hiroto-kun…why does it seem that you are trying to recreate all those scenarios that occurred in the last timeline?”
“Not everything Hime…” Hiroto raised his eyes and with a soft smile, told her, “…this time, I am not letting you get hurt.”
Miyuki glared at Hiroto with a slight dust of crimson over her cheeks.
She has noticed that whenever she tries to initiate a serious conversation about this time regression, he says something that makes her heart go ‘Ba-dum’ and she forgets to continue the discussion.
However, not this time. She has learned her lesson and to compose her heart she pushed her index finger against the section just at the end of her thumb.
“Tell me, Hiroto-kun; why would you let that girl get near you again, when you knew it would hurt me?”
Hearing her words, Hiroto stopped eating and focused on her.
Although Hiroto never desired to do anything that could hurt his lover, he still couldn’t just avoid Yuichi and let things happen at their own pace and in accordance.
He intervened with the plot and changed its course due to his greed to save Miyuki, instead of letting Yuichi protect her. And because of that, if Hiroto doesn’t keep a close eye on the moving plot, things might go in an entirely different way.
The goddess clearly stated to protect all the heroines along with Yuichi and also provide them a happy life before Hiroto could live his own life without burdening with any responsibility toward the protagonist. If not then who knows what that simp deity might do.
“Haah…Miyuki…can you answer me something honestly? And please don’t take this in the wrong way.” Miyuki felt her heart gripping already a bit but she nodded without hesitation.
Hiroto took a long breath, before he asked, “When you confessed your love for me, last night…was it because you were thankful for what I did for you?”
Miyuki’s lips parted slightly with her brows raised as she felt great astonishment upon hearing his question.
Miyuki could feel how hesitant and nervous Hiroto was when he raised such a query however it didn’t change the fact that Miyuki was slightly hurt by being questioned for her confession.
But, she never was the kind of person who blabbers on impulse and regrets it later.
She took a minute to compose herself and thought of the reason why he asked something like that.
Although she was a newbie in the relationship department and never had dated someone before, Miyuki somehow guessed the reason for his suspicion. And once she did realize she felt a lot better.
Turning her gaze back at him, she asked, “Even if you ask me I can’t really define what I feel toward you is really love. After all, I never fell for anyone before.”
Miyuki looked toward the sky before leaning her shoulder on him and uttering, “However, what I am certain about, is that, this feeling of being with you is simply too fulfilling for me. To be able to talk to you…to expect you in my room…to feel your warmth and enjoy your attention, these are some of the things I have started to get addicted to.”
Slowly bringing her hand over hers, she continued, “I may not know ever what true love might be, but Hiroto-kun, being here with you…hearing your voice and feeling your presence around me makes me feel lucky to be alive. ”
Looking at him with a side glance she added, “And I have a feeling that not even death can tear us apart now.”
Miyuki turned silent after that and wordlessly urged him to finish the lunch.
She also ate half of what was in there before closing the lid. She felt fulfilled by looking at him eat already.
The duo finished their lunch in silence before the bell rang.
Miyuki could sense that Hiroto was trying to say something but failing to utter those words.
She got up from her seat before she said something to elevate his worries,
“Don’t force yourself to tell me right away. I can wait for your answe-”
“I need to ensure Yuichi’s safety.”
Miyuki raised her brows hearing his sudden response, before Hiroto got up from his seat and stood near the girl.
Cupping her warm cheek he looked into her eyes intently and finishing what he intended to let her know,
“Please don’t ask me the reason or why I would do some uncertain and bizarre things in the future. Those things might include like what I did with Kaori in the morning but trust in me and…Miyuki?”
Hiroto suddenly blinked as he saw Miyuki’s eyes turning emotionless and a long smile extending her lips. He didn’t even notice when she got her hands on his collar before she pulled him toward her and whispered in a low yet heavy voice,
“Hiroto-kun…whatever you do, please refrain from getting too close to anyone, especially another female. Your purpose might be big, but my feelings are far greater, so please keep that in mind, ok?”
A chill of excitement ran down his spine before he rested his head against hers and whispered,
“Whatever my Hime wishes…”

Meanwhile, Yuichi—who got pranked by the blond gyaru and now was reeking of foul smell—was continuously calling Hiroto to get himself a change of clothes.
‘Come on, pick up you bastard!’ On the verge of cursing aloud, Yuichi decided to hide in the gym locker for the time being.
