After rebirth, I confessed to the losing heroine - Chapter 33- Response
So it was true. Miyuki can, as well, regress.
It couldn’t be a coincidence nor was it a once-in-a-lifetime miracle. It was a proven fact that Miyuki could also regress a day before just as Hiroto does. And more so, Hiroto also discerned that she didn’t need to go through the blood ritual to validate the regression.
She was bound to him.
‘…ah, why do I have a bad feeling about this…’ As Hiroto trespassed the security with ease and crossed the lawn, he thought about what he should disclose to his girl.
The first floor of the mansion was almost fifteen feet above the ground. The very thought of seeing Miyuki fall from that height…
…Hiroto had more than enough reason to travel back in time.
Climbing the ledges and grabbing the stones carved out of the wall, he was easily about to reach her window. The walls were patterned in a checkered fashion, with every alternate block sticking out a little.
Although the pattern was pleasing to the eyes, it was also a means to allow ambushers to climb the mansion easily. After all, it wasn’t only Hiroto, who knew rock climbing.
Reaching her window, he didn’t have to knock since it was already parted.
Landing on her bed, Hiroto looked around to find her…only to sense someone approaching him from the left.
“Mi-huh?” Before he could have called her, a surprised voice leaked through his lips as he saw a rope being held in her left hand.
“I am going to tie you up. Be cooperative so no one gets hurt.” Although she tried to be scary, Hiroto could only find the silver head, adorable.
The fierceness in her eyes told him that she wasn’t going to take a ‘no’ for an answer.
“Here.” Hiroto could live all his life being imprisoned by his favorite girl. That signifies why he offered his hands toward her.
Although Miyuki was expecting such a reaction, his quick surrender, did surprise her a little.
However, she didn’t think twice before advancing toward him and trying the rope around his wrist.
“Uh-huh, go from the back and insert the single rope inside the hoop before pulling it…yeah…” In the middle of the process, upon seeing Miyuki’s difficulty, Hiroto began guiding her.
A smile of pride bloomed on her lips as she finally was done locking him.
“Now sit here.” Gesturing toward her bed, Miyuki commanded…well, she tried to.
Hiroto was amused seeing her serious demeanor before he complied with his Hime’s request and sat down.
Miyuki pulled a chair and sat while facing him. The distance between them remained half an arm as she stared into his eyes quite intensely.
“…how can you be so relaxed?”
“Hmm?” Hiroto raised his brows in curiosity.
“You…shot yourself, Hiroto-kun…you know what means?” Although Miyuki had once faced death, she was sure that another experience would be too much for her to bear. And voluntarily killing herself was far from the equation.
However, just because she got injured, Hiroto didn’t think twice and shot himself.
Was it really that simple?
“My injury would have healed in a month or two. There were enough facilities in the hospital for me to remain unmoving for most of the thing; so no problem there. My performance in the school was good enough to grant me a month-long vacation easily. Then why…”
“Because I can’t see you in pain.”
Miyuki was taken aback by his sudden response which somehow, despite expected, greatly surprised her.
She parted her lips to rebuke him. To tell him how her ankle injury was far less painful than that bullet he shot in his head. She wanted to reprimand him for his action…tell him, how he shouldn’t sacrifice himself for someone else.
…but when she realized how this ‘someone else’ was none other than herself, Miyuki felt a sudden burst of elation in her chest.
For him…she was so important. Her pain hurt him. Her happiness makes him smile. And her safety was his utmost priority.
Was there any reason to not believe his confession?
“…why are you so unfairly sweet?” Holding his hand weakly, she muttered under her breath.
Hiroto smiled at the reaction before he raised his adjoined hands and cupped her cheeks—making her look his way.
“Didn’t I tell you Miyuki? I am madly in love with you.” Hiroto have feelings for Miyuki for a long time. Both, the original one and the soul that took over this body.
This girl in front was the world for Hiroto, and he was well set on keeping his world safe and secure.
“…don’t you feel annoyed by not getting any response?” Hearing her hesitant voice, Hiroto chuckled.
“I never expected to woo my Hime so easily. However, I am not going to back away until-”
“I love you too.”
Hiroto went silent.
A minute passed.
And another.
“!!!!” Finally, after three minutes, Hiroto registered what she said—rendering him breathless.
“M-Miyuki? What did you just say?”
There was an evident blush on her face since this was the first time she was confessing to someone. However, she didn’t back away from telling her true feelings,
“I have been thinking about Hiroto-kun since that day when you saved me. The thought of being saved by my ex-fiancé who should be hateful toward me, greatly shocked me. I initially thought you were trying to fool me or maybe trying to gain favor from my father. However, the next day, when you made your point clear…that you l-love me…I wasn’t able to stop thinking about you at all.”
Looking at him in the eyes she earnestly said, “You know, Hiroto-kun…I never thought about what an ideal partner would be for me. After all, in my eyes, relationships have always been a waste of time.”
Hiroto was aware of it, after all, despite being engaged to his past self, she never developed any feelings for him.
“…however, after meeting you, I believe Hiroto-kun was the only person I could ever fall in love with. I thought, there could be no one more caring and compatible partner like Hiroto-kun…yet, I was scared to confess to you until what happened some minutes ago.”
Hiroto raised his brows before asking, “Why?”
Hiroto knew that she had developed feelings for him, but for her to be scared of confessing…?
“!!!” Hiroto’s eyes suddenly widened in surprise as his gaze landed on the big sadistic smile she wore and the hazy eyes she had at the moment before Miyuki answered,
“I was scared of myself, Hiroto-kun…that my love might push you away.”
Getting up from her seat, she sat on his lap with her legs crossed behind his back, before she whispered,
“But it’s too late now to return, Hiroto-kun…I am no longer letting you go.”
