“So now…can you tell me what actually happened in these twenty-four hours?”

Although Miyuki doesn’t seem to mind all the teasing and playing around, she still was eager to know about what transpired actually.

She knows things have changed dramatically, as compared to what should have occurred today.

Even though what she saw—all those goons shooting at them and Minami betraying Miyuki, followed by their death—was an illusion…then how come all those traitorous maids were found dead in the morning? And also, those gang members who should have been targeting the Shirogane family, were also been entirely annihilated.

The only variable Miyuki could discern was the sudden arrival of Hiroto last night

Now, only two scenarios seemed possible for her. One: Hiroto and Miyuki had the same illusion. Two: Hiroto and Miyuki lived the same day and died the same day, only to travel back in time. Then, what about those many murders? Who could actually know who was about to betray and target the Shirogane, and deal with those adversaries within one night?

A lot of questions, indeed.

“First of all, can you recall any incident yesterday, when you got a small injury and you consumed your own blood?” Hearing Hiroto’s query, Miyuki subconsciously quirked her brows in disgust.

“Who licks their wound like that?”

“Well, I got my answer.” Miyuki had no idea what Hiroto was even talking about which made her continue gazing at him.

Finding her interrogative stare, Hiroto sighed before assuring her, “As I told you already, once I make sure about something, I surely tell you everything truthfully. So please have trust in me.”

The way he persuaded her and held her hand over the table, tightly, Miyuki lost all her motivation to continue arguing.

With slight dissatisfaction, she nodded.

[Monday]

“I am off.” Bidding farewell to his mother, Hiroto walked out of his house to head toward the station.

His school was two stations away; situated over a small hill.

In the last two days, he has mostly spent his time with Miyuki. Apart from his self-interest, he wanted to not leave her alone just in case.

Miyuki was a sheltered girl, which is why Hiroto was expecting her to be traumatized by the incident, which she regarded as an illusion. However, she seemed fine even after facing such a disturbing incident.

Aside from spending time with the silver head, Hiroto has spent time forming a base for his operation. To store all the guns he took from the cathedral, the equipment, and also all the necessary tools he would need in the future, were currently placed in an abandoned apartment flat, on the outskirts of the city.

He needed to form several bases across the nation for investigation purposes and many more motives.

Although it felt childish, Hiroto needed to make a pseudo-identity and popularize it in the underworld. In the last life, he was alone enough to carry all the tasks, but no longer—and it was making him a little frustrated.

‘Well, it’s better to be prepared….this world sure can take dramatic turns on basic missteps…’

Arriving at the station, Hiroto found a familiar silver-haired youth standing there, while scrolling on his phone.

The people who passed by him, gave the boy a long glance with an expression of admiration and curiosity.

“Your charisma is at its peak as always.” Hearing the familiar voice, Yuichi pocketed his phone and looked toward the source of the voice.

“What do you mean?” The way Yuichi raised his brows, Hiroto had no other option than to believe that his friend didn’t actually understand the influential power of his looks.

Regardless, Hiroto didn’t pry on the matter and urged Yuichi to board the train.

The train was mostly empty at this hour since most office workers and school students take the next train or the train nearly at half past eight.

Once Yuichi and Hiroto were seated, it was the former who asked first,

“So…how come you suddenly began dating Shirogane-san?” Naturally, Yuichi was interested in the sudden development of his friend and acquaintance who shared a not-so-healthy past.

However, being immature in how he should approach this matter, Yuichi seemed hesitant to ask the question.

In response, Hiroto hummed a bit before he answered in a doubtful tone, “Maybe because I saved her life, Miyuki is willing to entertain me for the time being? I don’t know her actual feelings toward me, but sooner or later I would make her fall for me.”

Yuichi was equally surprised and concerned hearing his friend’s response before he couldn’t help asking,

“Hiro…for you to go out of your way to pursue Shirogane-san…you aren’t looking for some sort of revenge, right?” Naturally, Yuichi was aware of the rocky past of the Takeda family. And also, the fact that Miyuki once was Hiroto’s fiancee, so it was a genuine concern coming from Yuichi.

However, unlike what Yuichi expected, Hiroto didn’t even think twice before answering truthfully,

“Revenge? For what? Just because Miyuki was obliging with her parents’ decision to marry me and broke off after my family’s downfall, doesn’t put her in the guilty bracket. And right now, whatever is going on between us, is simply unrelated to our past.”

“…”

Yuichi could tell that his friend was serious about his commitment. The look in Hiroto’s eyes spoke volumes about his determination toward Miyuki.

The fact, that Hiroto saved Miyuki back then and also actively pursued her even after that, tells how serious the boy was about her.

With a smile, Yuichi patted his friend and spoke in a lighter tone, “All the best, man. I will always support you.”

The train ride came to an end nearly at 7 as the two young men walked together toward the exit.

Normally, Yuichi wasn’t a talkative person and Hiroto also enjoyed silence, that’s why more than small talks about school and stuff, they mostly remained silent en route.

“Yu-kun! Hiroto-kun!” Just as the two walked out, they heard the merry voice of a familiar person from nearby.

Turning their heads, they found a short green-haired girl waving at them with a cheerful smile adorning her lips and wearing the same school uniform as them.

Recalling what happened some days ago, Yuichi jabbed Hiroto with his elbow before whispering,

“Dude…can you give me some tips about dating and stuff during lunch break?”

“…” When things elevated to this extent—Hiroto inwardly asked to himself.
