After rebirth, I confessed to the losing heroine - Chapter 20- Killed...
So here is what possibly went wrong.
In the main storyline, there was a different scenario that unfolded upon the intervention of the protagonist when he saved Miyuki.
The two major differences were; that no one was killed and secondly, there was a whole organization behind Yuichi to help and support him. That was why the boxer gang’s remaining members were never mentioned again in the story.
Yuichi’s connection with the underworld was enough to negate the possible retaliation from a pre-canon low-rank villain.
However, things changed when a soul decided to take the reign in his hand and alter the course of action.
Naturally, Hiroto didn’t have anyone backing up which made it quite possible for the boxer gang to track him down and also the girl who became the reason for one of the member’s death.
It was highly probable that the person, who was about to assault Miyuki was one of the core members of the gang. And thus…
*BOOOOM*
Another explosion broke out as Hiroto lifted the longer sofa and created a barrier pulling everyone behind it.
There was clear panic on everyone’s face but some of them were able to mask, and some were evidently dreading.
“Who are they?! How can they even think of attacking this mansion?” Hiroto’s father raised a valid question since this place belonged to one of the most prominent men in Japan.
Going against the Shirogane family meant the opposition had already accepted their demise, however, their relentless assault suggested that they wanted to deal some grave damage before their fall.
“Souma-san, hold Aunt Yuki tightly, and when I give you a signal run toward upstairs. Dad, you too. Hold Mom and don’t look back. Miyuki you- ” Hiroto, with a relatively calm visage instructed the elder ones, when he suddenly was interrupted,
“But Hiroto, what are you going to do about this?!” Akiko couldn’t help yelling at her son since from the looks of it, he was about to do something which was highly dangerous.
Hiroto held his Mom’s hand and relayed calmly, “There are probably more than fifty people outside. Even if the police arrived, it would be too late. We need to be safe until then.”
“Don’t be foolish Hiroto. There is my private-” Just as Souma was about to inform that his personal forces were in hiding, something crashed through the window and landed on the floor, just a few meters away from the group.
Everyone was frozen at the sudden appearance of the unidentifiable object but Hiroto knew, it was a smoke bomb.
“Perfect.” Miyuki couldn’t discern why Hiroto would say something like that, but she had no chance to ask him since he suddenly pulled her up.
“Let’s go… it’s our only chance.”
Hearing Hiroto’s call, Souma moved on his impulse and picked Yuki in his arms. Not so long after, Ryouske followed suit while holding his wife’s hand.
Yuki’s condition didn’t allow her to run comfortably for long and thus her husband didn’t think twice before holding her and dashing behind Hiroto.
Hiroto ran toward the stairs, but the barrage of bullets advanced from the main door, which was just opposite the stairs, stopped him mid-way. He had no option but to change the course of action.
“Move toward the kitchen! Take advantage of the smoke!” Hiroto’s call worked as the fuel which the other needed to charge.
Hiroto’s primary motive was to ensure the safety of these people before he could crack some bones and spill some blood.
Pushing the door hastily with his shoulder, Hiroto pulled Miyuki inside, followed by the other four.
However, he could have never thought…
“Hahaha! They fell for it!”
Inside the kitchen, there were more than eight maids standing at different sides with numerous men holding assault rifles in hand.
None of the maids were taken captive rather it was clear that they had chosen to betray their master and this was the main reason why the mansion was infiltrated.
And most importantly,
“Kasumi…” It was a name Miyuki had uttered numerous times in the past…but this particular time, it seemed so heavy voicing that name, that made Miyuki nearly fall down.
Her legs were shaking, her vision blurry and her mind turning numb as she saw the person she trusted the most, standing beside one of the men, with her body almost coiled around him.
“What happened, my lady~ Shocked to see your loyal servant going against you?” The audacious smile on Kasumi’s mouth was nothing but disgusting as she asked in a sly tone.
Hiroto clenched his fist in anger. He could dodge the bullets and take cover in time…but not others.
There were a total of twelve men wearing monkey caps, which didn’t allow him to identify who they were. However, what was concerning the most was the gun they were holding.
Hiroto did have the knife in his sock, but that wouldn’t make it in time. Not to talk about the advancing gunshot from behind, which would arrive in the kitchen in no time.
“So all of my servants were nothing but snakes, huh…” Souma gritted his teeth in frustration. He never thought that those servants who had been working for the Shirogane family for ages would betray him.
“You should have kept your eyes open, Mr. Souma. There is nothing in this world which can not be bought.” The man beside Kasumi spoke in his heavy voice.
Souma could do nothing but stand still at his spot, without any hope remaining in his eyes. He has more than a hundred soldiers stationed around the mansion, but the fact that they weren’t able to arrive here, meant the opponents came here with all preparation.
Kasumi slowly made her way toward Miyuki, who still hadn’t been able to recover from her shock.
“My dear lady~Why such a long face? Didn’t you spend hours in your wardrobe to impress your prince?” Grinning, she pinched Miyuki’s cheeks.
“H-How can you…” Miyuki’s eyes were clouded by tears as she asked in a shaky voice. She couldn’t believe that the person, she treated as an elder sister would betray her.
Miyuki’s expression irked Kasumi, and before she could hold herself, Kasumi took hold of her dear lady’s neck and began choking her.
“Now lis-KHAK!” However, before she could relay her anger, something pierced her neck from the side, rendering her speechless.
Turning her gaze toward her right, Kasumi’s eyes widened as she was met by Hiroto’s narrowed gaze and his hand holding the handle of the knife, which he had plunged inside her neck.
“Don’t you dare touch her…”
Just as Kasumi’s body began falling toward the ground, “FIRE!”
The command from who seemed like the boss, resonated across the kitchen, followed by several bullet shots.
And with that, the Takeda and Shirogane family were entirely annihilated.
…..
…
..
.
“Haaah…haaah….” It was uncomfortable to breathe as the person shot up from the bed, drenched in cold sweat.
The person was not able to grasp what had happened to them at all, as they struggled to keep their feet stable.
It was then when suddenly, someone walked inside the room,
“What happened, my lady?”
